Good Wednesday evening. I'm Chief Meteorologist Emily Walls.
We are tracking another round of
rain that will be here tomorrow,
but for those of you that hit your morning commute a little bit
earlier, say between 5 a.m. to 7 a.m.,
chances are we're still going to be okay by that point,
but after about 7 or 8 a.m.,
that's when we start to see showers building in from the west,
and then that's going to spread across Chicagoland
from west to east. Notice heavy
downpours could be possible around midday, early afternoon.
A couple thunderstorms too,
but I'm not anticipating any severe thunderstorms tomorrow.
But nonetheless, heavy downpours, you should be prepared for that.
Now, looking ahead to Friday,
Friday's rain chances have actually increased.
So we're going to see some wraparound rain showers circling around
this low-pressure system.
So we're looking at scattered showers being possible
on and off all through the day on Friday.
Most of these showers will likely be on the lighter side,
so we're not going to see much in the way
of heavy downpours, I think, on Friday,
especially in comparison to Thursday
when we have that area of heavy rain coming through.
For tonight, 57, we will have north,
northeasterly winds, 5 to 10 miles per hour.
7-day forecast, soggy day tomorrow, 60 degrees for the high.
We're going to drop to the upper 50s on Friday and Saturday.
Good news about the weekend, though,
we have plenty of sunshine for Saturday and Sunday.
Highs will be in the upper 50s on Saturday.
We're at about 64 degrees on Sunday.
Be mindful, though, that the morning hour
is definitely going to be chilly.
We were actually waking up in the 30s across
the area on Saturday morning.
