"Libertango" – Violin & Flute Version
This time, we present the classic tango piece "Libertango." Tango is an Argentine partner dance; said to have originated as a secret dance between lovers, it requires dancers to maintain a serious expression—glancing around warily as if fearing discovery—while executing a style that is clean, sharp, and powerful.
"Libertango" is arguably the most famous work by Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla. It has undergone countless arrangements—ranging from the composer's original quintet setting to piano solos, piano duets, various ensemble arrangements, concertos, and even choral versions. It truly embodies the composer's own words: "'Libertango' represents the freedom I gave to my musicians." Piazzolla elevated tango music from mere dance accompaniment to a standalone genre of instrumental music, blending elements of classical and jazz styles. The piece always leaves the audience wanting more! We hope you enjoy it too!
