Webb Found the Same Impossible Material on Two Different Worlds
A team at the Paris Observatory just published something the James Webb Space Telescope had been sitting on: a single missing wavelength of light on Pluto's surface that matches nothing in any spectral database. The same gap shows up on Titan. This video walks through what the data actually shows, why two worlds this different carry one identical chemical signature, and why the honest answer right now is that nobody can name it yet.
Note: the candidate compounds discussed (allene-type carbon chains, ketene, irradiated organics) are current hypotheses. The absorption feature itself is measured and confirmed by two Webb instruments; its identity is not settled science.
