Don Hudson (born 1950 in Detroit, Michigan) is an American documentary photographer whose work has focused on visual records of everyday life in Michigan and the American Midwest. He began serious engagement with photography in 1972 when he enrolled at the Detroit Society of Arts and Crafts (now College for Creative Studies), studying photographic history, technical process, and visual language until 1974. Hudson continued to live and work in Michigan, producing work across multiple decades that documented regional social environments, public events, and street life through predominantly black-and-white imagery.

The first major published collection of Hudson’s work, From The Archives, was released in 2012 by Editions FP&CF. This volume compiles images from Hudson’s personal archive taken between the early 1970s and later decades, presenting a systematic record of American social settings including rallies, fairs, and community gatherings. From The Archives was produced in a limited edition with approximately 128 pages of photography drawn from his longstanding documentary practice.

In addition to From The Archives, Hudson’s work has appeared in other independently published formats. These include Somewhere in Michigan, a 40-page portfolio book containing black-and-white plates from his 1970s and 1980s projects, and a 2021 zine titled Michigan 1970-1984, which presents selected images from that period in a limited print edition. More recently, a book titled Can I Get a Witness was published in 2024 as a hardcover volume featuring Hudson’s work from the 1970s and 1980s, indicating continued interest in his archival output within documentary photography circles.
