Shaun Lockyer is the founder of Shaun Lockyer Architects, a Brisbane practice specialising in residential architecture. SLa has since designed around 270 houses since 2009.
His own home in Teneriffe, is the downsizer he built once the kids moved out. It's arranged around a central courtyard he calls "the lung of the home", 500 metres from inner-city development, with nods to Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe and Alvar Aalto throughout.
Shaun walks us through the house, the 670-metre drive through Teneriffe past Chambers House, Chester and Danny's House, and the studio: an old Queenslander in Newstead that SLa raised up and built in under.
