Sahyadris of India

CEO Rajeev Daily Journeys

Magnificent Sahyadri mountain range near Satara in Maharashtra where rolling green hills, dramatic valleys, winding roads, and monsoon-fed waterfalls create some of Maharashtra’s most spectacular landscapes. High among these mountains lies the enchanting Kaas Pathar Plateau part of the Western Ghats UNESCO World Heritage landscape. During the flowering season, this seemingly quiet plateau transforms into a vast natural canvas, with carpets of tiny seasonal wildflowers painting the grasslands in shades of yellow, purple, pink, white, and blue.

Hiked to India's tallest Vajrai waterfall with surrounding mountains shrouded in fog and were the only two visitors that morning along with two village ladies accompanying us to fight the leeches on the trail with salt / spray.

The drive itself is part of the experience—climbing through the Sahyadris as mist drifts across the mountains, clouds descend into the valleys, and distant lakes shimmer between the hills. Every bend reveals another panorama seemingly untouched by time. The scenic landscape left us speechless with wildflowers blooming on a windswept plateau and surrounded by mountains stretching endlessly toward the horizon.
