Life at Its Simplest

Lately, I have been thinking about the beauty of ordinary days. The familiar routines, slow mornings, little moments at home, and all the simple things that make everyday life feel meaningful.
This is a little glimpse into our everyday life in Finland, where I am learning to slow down, enjoy the mundane, and find a better balance between the comfort of home and the wildness of Nordic nature.
Maybe life does not always need to be exciting or full of big moments. Sometimes, the simplest days are the ones that stay with us.
Thank you for spending a little time here with me. 🤍
SANNA’S RUSTIC AUTUMN SOURDOUGH — Makes two large loafs
200 g active sourdough starter
700 g lukewarm water, approximately
200 g rye flour
200 g whole grain spelt flour
600 g wheat flour
20 g salt
A little note:
If you have never made sourdough bread before, keep in mind that this is more of a guideline than a strict recipe. Sourdough can vary quite a bit depending on the flour, starter, temperature, and hydration, so I recommend getting familiar with the process first. That way, you will have a much better idea of what to look for along the way, and hopefully end up with a loaf you really love. :)
