The G7 has agreed to release 100 million barrels of oil from strategic reserves as governments seek to ease soaring fuel prices. A substantial amount of diesel is expected to enter the market within the first 20 days of the coordinated release.

The release will be carried out through the International Energy Agency (IEA) over four months, according to a joint statement issued after G7 leaders held a video conference.
