Prometheus Rapture was composed in 2009 for Dame Evelyn Glennie. In Greek mythology, Prometheus is a Titan known for his wily intelligence. He stole fire from Zeus and gave it to mortals for their use. Zeus became enraged and condemned Prometheus to an eternal punishment. The Seven Legends of "Prometheus Rapture" depict the events of this epic myth.
