Martin "Marty" J. Lueders (1962–2014) was an American photojournalist whose work focused on conflict, humanitarian crises, environmental issues, and social inequality. Born in Niles, Michigan, and raised in Homewood, Illinois, he worked internationally for much of his career, producing documentary photography in regions affected by war, famine, and political instability. His photographs were published by newspapers, magazines, aid organisations, and advocacy groups across several continents.

Lueders worked extensively on long term documentary assignments in Africa, Asia, and Antarctica. His photography examined the effects of conflict, displacement, poverty, and environmental change, often concentrating on communities experiencing political or social upheaval. He also documented conservation campaigns and environmental issues, including work connected to Greenpeace expeditions in Antarctica during the early 1990s.

Unlike many documentary photographers of his generation, Lueders was not primarily known through photobooks. His work circulated largely through editorial publication, exhibitions, and humanitarian organisations rather than commercial book publishing. As a result, his archive is best understood through the extensive body of documentary photographs he produced during more than three decades of international assignments.
