Swimming "Insanely Skilled" 🔥 Moments

#Breaststroke #SouthAfrica #Paris2024
Tatjana Smith was sitting in fourth place at the halfway mark of the Olympic women's 100m breaststroke final in Paris. With only 50 meters remaining, the reigning 200m Olympic champion had a huge challenge ahead of her.
Then came the final 25 meters.
Tang Qianting had taken control early, turning first in 29.94 seconds, while Smith was fourth. But Smith refused to let the leaders escape. Stroke by stroke, she closed the gap until the race came down to the final touch.
Smith reached the wall first in 1:05.28, beating Tang Qianting, who finished in 1:05.54, while Mona McSharry took bronze.
The victory was especially meaningful because Smith had already experienced Olympic heartbreak in this same event. At Tokyo 2020, she won silver in the 100m breaststroke before coming back days later to win 200m breaststroke gold and set a world record.
