This is our real dementia journey — the sweet moments, the funny ones, and the hard days that don’t always make it to the highlight reel.

When I showed up, Mama had on one shoe… and another resident had on the other one. 😩 You truly can’t make this stuff up. A nurse even chimed in about Mama’s unmatched energy and how she walks the halls all day like she’s on a mission.

We also had a classic moment gossiping about blocking people on Facebook (because whew 😮‍💨), and Mama’s response was PERFECT. Add in my sarcasm about her slippers coming back from the print shop not quite right, and you’ve got a day in the life of caregiving — unfiltered and real.

This video is for anyone navigating dementia, memory care, caregiving, or loving someone through this disease. Some days we laugh. Some days we cry. Most days, it’s a little bit of everything.
