A Day in the Life of Dementia Care | Anxiety, Pacing & an Activity Attempt

Divas and Dementia

Sometimes Mama is so quiet I’m poking the bear—trying to stir her up just to hear her talk so she doesn’t forget.

She’s also anxious, pacing the halls, walking up and down nonstop… and I think, let’s try an activity.

Spoiler alert: epic fail.

This is dementia.
Quiet moments. Restless moments.
Attempts to engage that work… and attempts that absolutely do not.

There’s no script. No perfect plan. Just trial, error, patience, and learning when to push—and when to let it be.

This video is a real look at a day in the life of dementia caregiving:

• Trying to get conversation going
• Attempting activities during anxiety
• Knowing when to abort mission
• Meeting your loved one where they are that day

If you’re a caregiver, a dementia daughter or son, or supporting someone who is—this one’s for you. You’re not alone, and yes… some days are just like this.
