Lucrative and a quick way to make money, dealing is at the core of most violence. Difficult for the police to enforce the law, they have to work twice as hard.
In Rio de Janeiro, the military police has created special units that work directly in the slums. These units patrol the slums on foot, day and night, occupying the territory. In Cape Town, South Africa, the police has created special operations units. They patrol the city by car and perform spot searches. Two different patrolling methods, each reflecting society in their respective country. Immersion with these officers in the heart of the least-travelled neighbourhoods and populations.
