AI GeneratedJordan Edders, a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist, explains how acupuncture supports gastrointestinal health. By shifting the body from a \"fight-or-flight\" state to a \"rest and digest\" state, acupuncture reduces inflammation, improves muscle function in the digestive tract, and fosters a healthy environment for gut bacteria to thrive and process nutrients.
Hi, thank you for joining me. I am Jordan Edders. I am a licensed acupuncturist
and board certified herbalist in the state of Texas. Acupuncture has been around for about
2,500 years and some sources even say that it's been around for about 5,000 years. You know what,
whether it's been 2,500 years or 5,000 years, acupuncture has been a great tool that has been
used for that amount of time and I can trust it. It has been something that has actually stood the
test of time. Acupuncture has been used for a variety of conditions like digestive issues,
heartburn, indigestion, diarrhea, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome,
other inflammatory conditions of the bowels, chemotherapy-induced nausea. I mean acupuncture
works well by calming down your nervous system and your adrenals by putting you out of that
fight-or-flight system into the rest and relaxed state where you can digest your foods properly
and where it gives your good bacteria, the good gut bacteria in your gut, in your gastrointestinal
tract, a good place to live and to grow and to thrive so that it can break down the foods
into nutrients to send to the rest of your body. It also helps improve the contraction
and the relaxation of the actual muscles in your gastrointestinal tract so that you can move out
the solid waste out of your body and move out those toxins that you need to move out and it
also helps reduce inflammation and it's overall very helpful at nourishing the organs and the
other organs that are surrounding your gut. Some of the causes that you would see for
gastrointestinal issues are for one the diet, number two is stress.
Living in a very high stress environment does create a lot of toxic products in your body and
it can wreak havoc on the connection between your brain and your gut. There's a connection there
and the thing about acupuncture is it can help calm that whole thing down and another thing is
like I said the diet. We have to go back to diet. Diet is the number one. It is so vital that we
make sure that our diet is really good. A lot of products that are in our foods today are artificial.
You have artificial colors, artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners and those can decimate and
break down the digestive tract and that means that the good bacteria don't have a good place to live
and to grow like I said before and so you have to watch out for that. So if you are interested
in getting acupuncture I would highly suggest go to a licensed acupuncturist in your area,
in your state. Seek out their therapy, whatever program that they put you on, whatever treatment
plan that they say that you need to be on. Follow that treatment plan and if they say watch your
diet, we need to change some things, change it. I want you all to live a healthy, prosperous,
thriving life. Have a great day. Thank you for listening. Goodbye.
