Tigray forces launch offensive against Ethiopian government

Tigrayan forces, led by the TPLF, have declared a defensive war against the Ethiopian government, seizing an airport and launching offensives in the Afar and Amhara regions. This escalation follows the collapse of a 2022 peace deal and the formation of a new alliance with six other armed groups aiming to overthrow Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's administration.
