Elegance Of Embroidery

"Elegance of Embroidery," originally choreographed by Liu Wen Yan of Lorita Leung Dance Company, is a classical Chinese dance we performed for the University of Massachusetts Amherst's Asian American Student Association's 42nd annual Asian Night. The dance is both playful yet elegant, and, to us, represents the beauty of growth. The transition from embroidery hoops to full scarves shows our collective journey from spending long hours training to the euphoria of finally performing.

UMass Illusions is UMass Amherst's only traditional Chinese dance club. We are dedicated to demonstrating the beauty of Chinese dance to audiences that have likely never interacted with it before.
