Elizabeth has two children transitioned; her daughter, Chelsea, in 1991 and her son, Morgan, in 2009 from severe altitude sickness while on a student trip to the Base Camp of Mt Everest in Tibet. Immediately after Morgan's transition, Elizabeth created the Facebook group Parents United in Loss. Then in 2012 she joined forces with Mark Ireland to Co-found Helping Parents Heal.
