Is this selection of boots a sign of optimism? You know what they say, big selection of boots. Robertson's theory is if you have six pairs of shoes, by the time you get back to the first pair they'll be dry again so it's like a conveyor belt, so you can theoretically go on forever. The route is quite short, steep. It's got four or five hard-ish moves into a really hard move and then into a move which I just can't do. The idea is that I'm trying it ground up because that's the purest way. The only thing is there's other people trying to do this route as well and they've checked it out on a rope which means that they're likely to do it very soon. The ethics are pretty important but I just... I think if it's going to get done by someone who's checked it out on a rope then it might as well be me. I guess what I'm going to do is give it three or four of my best ground-up efforts and if I still haven't done it, that's like 13 or 14 splashdowns into the sea and surely then I'm entitled to take a rain check. That was the worst go I've ever had. Definitely just a bit hesitant. ------- hard, that. That move to get the pinch, that's a flipping hard move. I know I'm also slightly backing off because of this finger.
