A home creator transitions her living space for autumn, blending seasonal decor with cozy lifestyle habits. From preparing apple crumble breakfasts to styling her home with warm textiles, pumpkins, and woody scents, she focuses on creating a welcoming atmosphere. The video also covers practical home organization, a \"Scandi\" bedding approach, and a relaxing evening wind-down routine.
Hello guys. Welcome back to my channel. Welcome back to a brand new video. Our annual autumn
decorate with me is today's video, which I'm so excited for. It's one of my favorite videos
to film all year. This, my Christmas gift guides, and my decorate for Christmas with
me, I just, I just love it. I think I particularly like this one because it's like leading into
that cozy season and it's kind of like the start. It marks the start of what is soon
to be autumn. And yeah, it's feeling nice and crisp. Quite a sunny day today, but crisp
and cold. So a perfect day to decorate. I know previous years we've been doing it in
heat waves and it's like reminding me it's too early, but today it feels like a good
day to decorate. So I'm starting this morning, prepping some breakfast. And I thought I would
start the vlog here actually, because it's a really nice recipe from Live to Eat Emily
English. She's got a couple of cookbooks and this one has this recipe in apple crumble
oat pots. Now we love some kind of an oat breakfast yogurt situation. And this one is
like a new in recipe for us to try. So I thought we could do it together. Enjoy a bit of a
breakfast, a bit of a fuel of energy. I'm not going to be doing little individual pots
like that though, because you can actually make this mixture and have it in the fridge
for sort of like a few days. So I will prep it in a slightly larger bowl to be able to
pop in the fridge and then we can have it over the next few days. I will just do myself
a little individual portion today though. My little La Cruze pumpkin. This does have
a lid. I think it's one of those, because it's La Cruze, it can actually go in the oven.
It's such a small portion that say if you were to do like an individual apple crumble or like
this, an apple crumble type breakfast, it's the perfect size pot for that. But yeah, I never
really have a need for the lid. But yeah, so we'll do a little individual portion today and
then prep some for having in the storage. Now in the storage, in the fridge. Oh and look what else
came in the mail today. The Thread, new White Company magazine. I've got a little voucher in
here as well and I'm tempted to treat myself to an autumn candle. Tempted. Sit back, relax,
put your feet up, grab a cuppa. I hope you guys enjoy today's video and let's start with making
some breakfast. So we'll cover up and pop this one in the fridge. Smells delicious. Is that
cinnamon? Anything cinnamony at this time? Well, any time of the year, if I'm being completely
honest. I'm sold. So I've popped a little bit of crumble on mine. It's quite, I think my mixture's
a bit too thick. Maybe if you wanted to make it a bit smoother, I would maybe add a bit of milk
even, but maybe our yogurt is just quite thick because, or maybe I've added a few too many
oats and chia seeds, but let's give it a taste test. Got a bit of crumble on there as well.
Yeah, teaspoon of crumble, especially for a breakfast that's, if you want it to be a bit
healthier, is actually, it adds quite a nice bit of sweetness to it. I believe you can have this
as a, like a healthy dessert. One of the most underrated things, having your breakfast for your
evening meal. Love it. No matter what it is, even if it's a bowl of cereal, crumpets, whatever.
A breakfast, maybe even not as an evening meal, but as a, like I say, like a dessert,
I would happily have this as a dessert in an evening for a bit of a healthier option.
Emily strikes again. I'll leave this link below. Bump is bumping today. If you're wondering where
this set is from, it's actually quite old, unfortunately. It's from H&M. It's just like a
really soft knit. But yeah, so I'm going to fuel up for my breakfast. I'll show you everything
laid out on the table so that you can see everything that I've got and run through
everything. And then we'll just start popping things out to decorate. The boxes are down.
We've actually boxed Barney in there a little bit, although he doesn't seem too bothered.
We've got all of the autumn decorations down from the storage of the garage. So I'm excited to have
a run through these and decide I'll pop away any Halloweeny bits until October, keep them to one
side and just get out all of the autumn bits that I definitely want to keep and use this year.
And probably put them out on this table actually. I've already got a couple of things over there
and just have a bit of a display, show you everything that we have for this year. What an
absolute treat for the eyes this table is giving right now. Oh my goodness, the warmth
and cosy season vibes is here. It's upon us. So I thought I would just run you through
very quickly all of the bits and bobs that I've got from this year, previous years,
just give you a rough overview of a couple of things. And if there's anything specific that
you see that I've not mentioned, just give me a message on Instagram or pop a comment below and
ask where it's from. And if I can remember and if I can link everything, anything that is
available, I will do so. But starting with faux stems, wreaths, I've got some from Neptune,
Matalan. I can't remember where those are from. Home scents, home scents. I've got three areas
where I can have door wreaths. So I've got the main front door, which is this brand new one from
Suffolk Nest. Can't wait to get that one on the door. On the inside of the front door, I'll have
that one. And then in the black room, there is a door which I like to have a wreath on. So we've
got that one to pop on there as well. A couple of throws. These checked ones are from Home Scents,
Matalan. Home scents, home scents. I can't find any autumn mugs apart from this one. So I don't
know if they're already in my mug cupboard. I had a quick look and couldn't see any, but
maybe they're stored up a bit higher somewhere. But we have one anyway. I've got these faux stems
that I got from Matalan this year. That artwork I thrifted, or it's like from an antiques fair,
I think. Some Home Scents bits. Home Scents, no, that was also from a vintage fair and these are
from Target in America. Home Scents. I did get this, like one of these I got from Home Scents
this year for $7.99. And then the other one I got from Home Bird, the homeware shop I like.
They're obviously like a wholesaler because the company's called Walton & Co, I think it is.
It was more expensive in Home Bird, but when I saw the cheaper version, well, it's the same thing,
but in Home Scents, I thought I'd point that out because I thought that was a bargain at $7.99.
A couple more pumpkins and things, LaCruz bits, B&M, Primark, White Company, Home Scents. This
was Home Scents actually. Same with these tea towels, a little display board, a glass bowl,
and a little wooden that was from Hobby Craft. The range, that is actually a candle, that one,
Home Scents. Was that Home Scents? I think it was. A soup mug, another little cushion in here,
but this is basically my basket, which I got from B&M and it's full of my autumn candles and
room sprays, little matchsticks, all different candles, all my favourite ones from previous
years, newer ones this year, autumn leaves, I love that one with the brass knocker. I have a
couple more cushion covers, which are in the wash in another throw as well, so once they are out the
wash, I'll be able to pop those out. I also have a few coffee table books that are very kind of
appropriate with the warmer tones, the time of the year. So what I'll do is, as and when I'm
going around styling the shelves and things, I'll kind of bring these books to the forefront,
or maybe if I've got any kind of like summer, spring type themed ones, maybe pop those away
and bring these ones out to replace them. There's a fly that's just come in here, if you can hear
that buzzing around, please ignore that. But I've also got three tubs of Halloweeny bits and bobs,
which I'm not going to be popping out this year. Well, I will be, but not until October after we've
painted and decorated this room, because I have mentioned it before about this room is going to
get repainted. So I need to, I've kind of like emptied out the boxes from the autumn and brought
up some more that I'm going to empty out all these shelves and kind of take everything off,
ready for this room to be painted. So there's no point decorating in here until after that's done,
by which point by then it might actually be close to Halloween. And given that we are hosting at
Halloween this year, I thought it'd be quite nice to bring out all of the ghouls and ghosts
and bats and witch hats and anything else that we've got just to decorate. So I will be kind of
doing a part two decorating, but more so in October for Halloween, if you want to stay tuned
for that. So for now, I think we're just going to pop these back in the garage, pop them out
the way. Again, ready for this room to be repainted and brightened up, which I'm actually really
looking forward to. I'm sad to say goodbye to the black, but I do think it needs it. And the
thing is with black as well, very deceiving guys, this room doesn't get much heavy traffic at all,
but we do get quite a lot of marks on the walls and fingerprints. And I think black actually shows
up quite a bit. I'm showing you up close here, quite a bit of marks on the walls. So I think
it will be better, especially given that it is going to be a more heavy traffic area with it
being a playroom, family room in future. I do think it's probably a wise decision to be getting
rid of the black anyway. Just a little tip I thought I would share with you. If ever you've
got pieces of furniture like this, where there is a, um, like a groove, which can be hard to reach
for crumbs and things like that. These for coffee machines are really handy because if you listen,
they blow out air. And then this one especially has a little brush, which helps get in there as
well. So if you brush, uh, sorry, blow the air out, it kind of blows out all the crumbs and stuff.
We've got one for, like I say, our coffee station near the toaster as well is really handy because
the pantry has the marble top unit. So where it meets the kitchen unit, it's a bit like this,
where you get a little crack. So these are perfect. I will leave them linked below.
You can see all the bits flying out.
How do we remove that? Do I just be brave and pick it up? I don't know if I can.
And be brave with a kitchen roll. It's not even a spider. It's fine. It's absolutely fine.
Oh, it's touching me. I think I saved it. Hopefully it didn't squish too hard.
But anyway, I was just going to replace this plain cushion for a little pumpkin. In fact,
I might even layer it with the cushion that was already there. That's cute, isn't it?
I'm feeling like there's a nice gap here for a cushion, maybe. A cushion, a pumpkin. I don't
want to go overboard, like I keep saying, with just like pumpkins everywhere, but I feel like
that space will be filled quite nicely with this material one. This is quite a chunky one.
Maybe something down here as well. There's a little pumpkin there.
I actually really like the artwork that's already in this frame. This is from HomeSense with a nice
gold, warm green, and kind of foresty, and I feel like that's suiting with the season. So
little pumpkin next to it, also from HomeSense. My treat bowl that I like to fill with, well,
this time of the year, it's just got some gold, again, with the warmth, where there's originals.
But Halloween, there's usually Halloween treats in there. Christmas, there's obviously Christmas
chocolates in there, so I will leave that there. And this lamp is also from HomeSense.
Then we'll go over to these shelves now. Maybe pop this white pumpkin near our little pumpkin,
the little miniature one there. Or should I put that up here somewhere? Maybe up there.
This was the, I think that was 20 Week Scan, one of the photos from the 20 Week Scan,
and it's in a little white company frame there. I'll just put my lamps for now. It's already a
little bit dark. I'm actually going to prop this up as well to hide the kind of wires for this lamp
and where the socket is, and just add a bit of height, a bit of colour, a bit of warmth.
It's unframed, but it was just something that I picked up from a vintage antique store that I
thought, you know what, actually sat there. Looks quite nice. The sofa needs a zhuzh anyway,
but we also have a couple of new throws to add to the sofa. We always have a base throw anyway
on the sofa, just for ease. We're having a dog that we just allow wherever he wants to go,
basically. It just makes it a lot easier to just bum a throw in the washer. Every four,
five days, whatever. Then this one is the one that we've kind of been getting cozy under,
which I do really like for this time of the year. It's a really nice, cozy fabric,
like Borg Teddy, and then super soft on this side. I think, where was this one from? I'm not
actually sure. It might have been Primark, you know, or maybe HomeSense, but I think we'll keep
this one out to snuggle under, and then I'll just pop the throws, maybe the new ones, just
on the arm of the sofa, just for an additional bit of comfort. I'll take everything off.
I've got my filming room, such wardrobe room could do with a bit of a pop of autumn,
just in the background. I've bought my big pumpkin up and just a little candle. This one's the
Autumn Leaves. I usually put this in the kitchen because the glass itself is a green and the
antique brass fits well with our kitchen as well. This is one that I brought out from previous
years, but I love the scent of this one. I feel like when I'm filming and I like the candle in
the background, it's a really nice scent, more so than the typical pumpkin spice. I don't tend to
like those as much because I prefer the more woodlandy, leaves, smoky autumn scents, as opposed
to sweet scents. I've mentioned this before on my channel, but we sleep with the Scandi method, i.e.
we each have our own duvet, and it is a game changer for a good night's sleep, especially if
Tom is 6'5", if you're a light sleeper as well, because I find that when we share a duvet,
if Tom rolls over, it wakes me up, or pulls the duvet on him, or whatever. It has been a bit of
a game changer for us. Ever since I discovered it, when we went to Finland, we went to Lapland,
and that's the method that they use there, and wow, it was so good. We've got our, well,
my pregnancy pillow here as well, but a little seasonal touch in here, not too much. A really
nice, cozy brown throw. This one's like a waffle one from a brand called Magic Linen,
and it's nice and big for a super king bed. We add a bit of warmth there,
and also cover up the fact that we've got single duvets, which is quite nice.
And then I'll add a bolster cushion in the middle. This one, I'm pretty sure,
was home since last year, maybe the year before. All the years merge into one now.
I mean, to be fair, I've replaced the bolster with this one, however, these two that I had before,
but they might work quite nicely with the bolster as well anyway. A really nice, creamy,
textured cushion. Let's see how this looks. Yeah, I think that works.
Now, I was going to leave this shelf as is, however, I've realised I've got a few candles
that I've not dotted around, and I thought I would change these and instead pop on here a candle,
along with my favourite little anthropology candle snuffer. Probably won't actually light
this one here, because I don't actually like to light candles in these shelves,
because then you can get burn marks. Okay, as for the dining table this year,
I think what I'm going to do is keep this Matalan brown table runner on the table,
have these two pumpkins, I love these from HomeSense, have those stacked with my big cream
vase, they kind of like work together, and then put some stems in here. Now,
I think the ones that I had last year on this table, I think are probably my favourite ones
that I own, and it's these from Neptune. They're like a moss, and you just kind of
splay them out a little bit, and have it quite sparse looking. Yeah, I'm happy with it leaving
it like this. The thing is, I do like the kind of asymmetric stems, like it's not perfectly
symmetrical with the pumpkins on one side. However, I thought I could add a candle here,
but ideally, I think a really nice big, I might even treat myself to one, autumn candle from the
White Company that's in like a white glass, much bigger pot than this one, to have it sat there.
So again, a really nice scent, so that when we do have people over, or in an evening where we're
wanting to light a candle and set the vibe, then we've got a nice big candle to kind of
counterbalance the pumpkins and the vase, because I think the vase needs to be in the middle like
it is. But for now, I've popped that there, but note to self, I might head to the White Company.
They've also got a new scent out I've seen, so we'll see. It may be a little White Company trip
incoming. Add a little pumpkin candle to our kitchen shelf. I thought I'd just quickly show
you my kitchen shelves, and kind of island display with a minimal kind of like everyday setup. We've
just got on the center tray part, the little candle from, where was this one from? Matalan,
maybe? B&M, tell a lie, B&M. And then my HomeSense one. And then on the back shelves,
we've got a pumpkin candle up there, wooden chopping board that we just get out as and when
we need to, apple cider ceramic candle. And then I've popped my other display board, this marble
one, just on the backsplash, stood up as well, that again, I will get out as and when I need to.
And then I have a couple of shelves allocated for like seasonal bits. I've got some Christmas
things up there and the autumn bits down here for as and when I want to get server ware out,
casserole type bowls, dishes, pie dishes, a cake stand, things that basically don't necessarily
need to live out all the time. These are stored in here. I mean, is that a bump that is bumping
or what? I've got my new cozy PJs on from Primark. How gorgeous is the pattern by the way?
There's like little books. What is there? Cozy socks, coffee leaves. Oh, it's giving
autumn. That's what today's video was all about. So I hope you guys have enjoyed it. I am just
sitting down for the evening. It's just starting to get dark. Lamps are lit, lamps are on, candles
are lit. And I thought it's about time to sit down, watch something on TV, dive into like a good
series, cozy series. I'll treat myself this evening to a five guys dinner. I won't put a
It's good that you can get these like mini ones. They've got these new,
this new flavoring called Jimmy's iced coffee. There's three straws in this bag for one little
baby milkshake. This has got to be up there with one of my, the five guys milkshake especially.
It reminds me of if you've been to America and had a Dairy Queen. It's a bit like a Dairy Queen.
Well, it's a five guys. It's really good. Classic movie, Time Traveler's Wife. Although it's a bit
sad, isn't it? But I do feel like a nice cozy, warm autumn movie. And it is kind of giving that
a little bit. Time Traveler's Wife. It is quite sad, but it is a good watch. I feel like I am
going to watch that, you know. And then I actually went for, they do, don't knock it
till you try it, but they do in five guys, a lettuce burger. Now don't get me wrong when I'm
wanting a burger and I want a burger, fine. But if you want a slightly healthier option,
you still get that satisfying, whoops, they go everywhere. Still get that satisfaction of having
a burger, but it comes in a lettuce wrap like that. And then I just got a little fries
because a kid's fries, fun tip with a five guys order. They always give you, this is the size
pot for a little fries, which obviously is full, but they've also basically just added a scoop of
fries in the bag as well. So, so honestly a kid's fries is enough. Anyway, this is going to be me
the rest of the evening. I think I'm going to commit to Time Traveler's Wife, 2009. Feels like
that's like a newer movie. If you don't know what Time Traveler's Wife is, let me just read you the
blurb. Due to a genetic disorder, handsome librarian Henry, who is Eric Banner, involuntary
zipped through time, appearing at various moments in the life of his true love, who is played by
Rachel McAdams. So great cast, great movie to watch this evening, great setup. And I hope you
guys have enjoyed today's video. So I'm going to close off here. Do of course give it a thumbs up
if you enjoyed it, subscribe for more. And if you want to see our black room styled up a little bit
more, then maybe head over to last year's Autumn Decorate With Me video and get a bit of inspo and
see some more decorations, because obviously I'm a bit more limited with space in terms of what I've
been able to put out this year. But like I said, again, stay tuned for upcoming videos into October
where we will be doing some more decorations for Halloween. Have a lovely rest of your day, guys.
Whatever it is that you're doing, have a good one. And I hope to see you all very soon in my next video.
Bye, guys.
