The Lost River That Flows Beneath Buckingham Palace

Beneath Buckingham Palace, a river is still flowing. The River Tyburn, ten kilometres long, once carved the island on which Westminster Abbey was built, supplied medieval London's drinking water for four centuries, gave its name to the most notorious execution ground in English history, and ran through the gardens of the house that became the Palace. It was buried alive by the Victorians. It still hasn't stopped. This documentary traces the Tyburn from its prehistoric origins to the present day, following the story of a river that shaped a civilisation and was then forgotten by it.
