On board a train headed for Chicago, Dr. Susan Lane (Rosalind Russell), a psychiatrist who believes keeping one's emotions in check is the key to mental health, meets Michael Kent (Lee Bowman), a popular cartoonist who is as impulsive as he is creative. When she's approached by Allura (Adele Jergens), a woman who says her kiss can make an archenemy out any man, Susan enlists the unsuspecting Mike in her cure. But Mike falls for the statuesque psychiatrist instead and secretly conspires with her father to trick her into getting married. And while Susan is angry upon finding she's been duped, only after driving Mike into Allura's arms does she realize that she's in love with him after all.
