AI GeneratedBrian Kramp explores East Town Square in Mequon, showcasing a curated selection of local, often women-owned boutiques. The segment highlights Jason Lewis for men's fashion, Little Moon for organic children's and postpartum care, and Karma 262 for versatile women's activewear, illustrating the mall's role as a comprehensive lifestyle destination for the entire family.
Men's fashion has changed a lot in the last 20 years, and really so has the way us guys shop for it.
Brian Kramp is at East Town Square Mall in Mequon, seeing how a local menswear store is kind of helping guys put together that perfect fit.
Kramp, what is your aesthetic? How would you describe your way of dressing?
Super casual, right? I mean, just to kind of be a part of who your personality is, what I wear is reflecting on who I am.
And I think, Noah, that's one of the difficult things to do for guys that are in between maybe jobs, careers, relationships.
We don't know who they want us to be or who we should be. Where do we start when we walk into Jason Lewis?
We start with with basically your team, right?
Yeah. First, we're going to say, hi, do you see what you need?
But then, yeah, we want to show you versatile pieces that you can wear regardless of what what avenue you are in life,
whether you are between jobs or whether you need something that works for two different events and things like that.
Right. And you hope that you can wear that in two different places because, you know, when it comes to what you have, it's quality.
And Jason Lewis, first of all, it's been around for nearly three decades, which is amazing.
But who is Jason Lewis? Correct. So Jason Lewis, my father started Jason Lewis twenty nine years ago.
So back up in Green Bay, we still have that store.
It'll be twenty nine years this month. We opened up in Mequon last May.
Well, welcome to the neighborhood, I should say.
This isn't the only place that we're going to visit today that's new in this area.
Now I'm walking around and I see a lot of items that are ready to go for for fall.
You know, you don't really have the winter stuff out yet.
As far as the trends go, what what is trendy for guys, especially right around this time of the year?
This time of year, we're seeing a lot more layering. Fall stuff is coming in.
Winter stuff's going to come shortly here, even though we don't have the weather for it yet.
But things are a little more relaxed on guys than they used to be.
So a little bit softer shoulders on coats, a little bit looser pants.
We're not seeing the super skinny stuff anymore.
I like that you said that, too, that it's a little bit looser, a little bit more casual to this particular.
I would have called this a sport coat, but it's not a sport coat.
It's not a sweater. It's not a cardigan.
It's more of like a like a sweater blazer cardigan.
Yeah. Casual piece that you could you could wear it with a tie and dress pants or exactly how you are now.
Or just do that. Now the shoes. I love the fact that you're supporting local to Ellen Edmonds.
You got their shoes here. What are the big brand names, though,
that you're usually from jeans to shirts to shoes that you're going to find?
Yeah, we do a lot of 34 Heritage Pants.
We do some Made in America, Hiroshi Kato, Japanese denim.
We do Farideh, Peter Millar, some Rafi stuff.
Tommy Bahama is a big brand for us. Yeah. Tailored clothing.
We do Copley, Hartschepner Marks.
OK, now all morning long, we're going to bounce around in different stores in this particular mall here in Mecklen.
Not a lot of people actually have ever stepped foot.
Not only to your store, but to the ball. So give us a locator.
Where are we? We're off of Port Washington. Let's do it.
Pretty much the corner of Port Washington and Mecklen Road.
We're about a block west of there. So we're in a mall called East Town Square.
There's a great cafe in here. That's very popular Cafe 1505.
So if you've been there, we're in that same building. Well, I'll tell you what.
This is one outfit. Do you mind if I try on something else later on?
Well, you can try on anything you'd like. All right.
We're going to do that for sure. From shoes to shirts to ties and more.
You got it here. Also, they have a mascot, which somehow just vanished.
I don't know. Oh, there's Brick. Look at Brick. Brick's waiting to go.
Waiting to shine on on air here. Is Brick always here?
Brick is here every day. Brick is here every day, too.
And one of the kindest, gentlest dogs that I have met this entire year.
Brick, good to see you from Jason Lewis here.
Brick is having his moment today. Brick is. Bring him in studio.
We need a dog around here. All right.
Well, coming up, summer just came to an end,
but the city of Milwaukee is already looking to prep for the holiday season.
Shopping for the littlest members of the family can sometimes lead to some of the biggest decisions.
Brian Cramp is at Little Moon Children's Boutique with a Mequon mom
who turned her own experience into a carefully curated store for kids and parents there.
Yeah, I'll tell you what, Sam. You might have to stop by
since you got a little one at home, too. Paige, beautiful store.
You guys opened, what, just a couple weeks, months ago?
We opened in March of 2026. I had my son the next month.
Just like that. And that was your second child.
So you know what it's like to be a mom,
but also you know what it takes to have clothes.
You know what it takes to have all of the essentials, the accessories,
but you also need the mental side and the care that goes along with it.
Why did you want to cover everything with Little Moon?
Because I know how hard it is.
And I feel like so often we focus on the baby after someone gives birth
and women also need support. They need to be seen
and have the products that they need to feel their best during a very intense season of life.
Yeah, I'll tell you what, you guys have a beautiful store here.
So congratulations to the family.
And I don't know if Little Moon comes from one of your kids somehow or not,
but my daughter's middle name is Moon. It was my grandma's maiden name.
So here we are. I love that relationship.
So what are we looking at? We have everything.
I tell you what, these clothes are the types of clothes
that I would probably have dressed my son in for a picture.
That's the idea.
This is a photo shoot place, but we also have things that can get dirty.
Because I say if it holds up in my house, it'll hold up in a war zone.
And every single thing holds up in my house.
Well, you've been very, let's just be honest,
we've been very conscious about what you're bringing into the store
because you were seeking out certain items.
Well, I'm very passionate about organic clothing.
And almost everything in here is GOTS certified organic cotton,
which is as good as you can get.
And I think it's better to buy less, but quality for kids,
especially because their skin is your biggest organ
and you want to have only the best touching your little ones.
Yeah, we made sure that anything that we used on Charles growing up
was definitely organic or didn't have any perfumes or dyes in it as well.
As we're looking around, I know that you guys are busy.
Obviously, a lot of new moms that are moving out to Mequon
and this area, East Town Square.
You guys have great businesses.
Why did you want to be here in this particular mall more than anywhere else?
Well, it's an awesome mall that has such a good history
and so many people in Mequon feel connected to it.
And there already was a children's store here and people really loved it.
And I really wanted to continue that tradition,
but give it a modern twist and bring it to more people
who might not have known that these brands were available in Milwaukee.
Well, I also love that there's space
because you know that you're going to be pushing, right?
You're going to be pushing a child along.
Over here in this section, this is what we were talking about earlier on
to make sure that mom is taken care of as well as the kids.
We have postpartum teas.
We have sleep teas because sleep, as I know, is very hard to come by as a new mom.
We have nice candles that are completely non-toxic.
They're pet and child safe.
As well as really nice organic neck pillows
because your neck is probably going to hurt from feedings and giving birth.
Right, Paige. I got to tell you that I think the store looks great.
Congratulations.
And this is coming from a dad who knows how sleep deprived you can be
and you're working on about integrals of 25 minutes of sleep over last night
because your little one wasn't sleeping the best.
So we'll be back with you a little bit later on.
You can take a break here, guys.
East Town Square.
We're going to store number three here.
And it's one that if you want to get a good workout in,
they have the clothes for that activity as well.
Thanks, Paige.
Yeah, I think I'm going to take note of this store, Brian,
for everything going on here with my seven-month-old at home.
It will definitely help. Thanks so much.
It's 744 and changing gears a little bit or a lot of it, I should say.
Not all workout clothes are created equal,
especially when you're working out in them.
That's when you learn the hard way.
Our Brian Cramp is in Mequon at Karma 262
seeing how one woman's yoga practice inspired a boutique
that's built around movement, comfort, and style.
I like to wear these just, you know, when I'm having a couch snack.
I'll tell you what, even a couch snack as well.
And you could probably wear some of these to work.
I would imagine that they're comfortable.
You can wear them whenever, right, Cara?
Exactly.
Hey, great to meet you. Karma 262.
Tell me a little bit about this business
because you come from the corporate world
and all of a sudden you start like basically like a leisure wear type place.
Yeah, so movement has always been a really important part of my life.
It's been a passion for me.
I also have this belief that great clothing can really support movement and inspire movement.
So as I looked around the gym, the yoga studio,
I thought I think there are other women who might share the same mindset
and Karma 262 was born.
Look at that too. I love the space.
You have a little bit of everything as we're walking around.
You know, one of the jokes that my son is 10 years old.
He always says my wife is like, there's their sports bra.
Well, you guys got sports bras and then like really comfortable undergarments as well.
But it's more than just what you would be wearing to yoga, isn't it?
Yeah. So as the store kind of settled in,
we heard from our customers that they wanted more than just active wear.
They wanted clothes that they could really live in that supported their lives.
So whether that was running to the grocery store
or picking up kids or travel or coaching even coaching
or it's a lot of people work from home now.
So they wanted comfortable clothes that they could wear when they work from home.
So we really kind of moved away from just active wear to bringing in a lot of lifestyle pieces.
I love that too because you could be on the pickleball court tennis court.
You can be coaching. You could be going to the grocery store
and find something to hear that is going to be fashion forward and also very cute as well.
I mean, I just pulled this one off the rack.
I know Navy is the color of 2026 along with brown.
Like this is something that my wife loves to wear
because it can is very versatile to say the least.
For sure. Well, this is one of our favorite brands
and it's a brand that you really can't get anywhere else in Milwaukee.
So this is great fabric. It's super soft, great.
We call hand feel. So it feels really good against your body.
It is odor resistant, which is important too.
If you're working up a sweat, you can throw this on and not have to worry about it.
I love it. What would you say to people that have never been in the mall as well as your store?
Yeah, this mall is really unique for really the North Shore.
There's so many curated businesses here, many of which are women owned.
So it was kind of a natural place for me to land when I was looking for a space.
We have everything in this mall from my store,
active wear, lifestyle apparel to higher end fashion to makeup hair.
It's just a great space and everyone's super supportive.
I appreciate that you guys are supportive of each other.
We're going to be supportive of the entire East Town Square this morning.
We're bouncing back and forth between three relatively newer locations.
Fox Local for more information, guys. If you're tuned in, take us with you.
Otherwise, swing on by. They open up at 10 o'clock.
We're going back to the first stop. If you missed it, it is a men's store.
So from women's to men's here at East Town Square.
Thanks so much, Cara. Thank you. We got something for you, too.
Yeah, exactly. Just a nice tight weather.
Weather closing seemed to look quite as good as they do on the models online.
The problem might just be the fits.
Brian Cramp is in Mequon at Jason Lewis with a few simple details
that can completely change how an outfit looks. How about the tailoring there?
Yeah, I mean, pretty nice, right? You know, most guys know when something doesn't look right.
I'm the type of person that thinks that that doesn't look right.
But on me, I don't know. Does it feel okay?
It feels pretty good. Noah, you're the expert here.
Jason Lewis is a store that you guys have had for 29 years as a family.
Does this color and does this look work for me? I think so, yeah.
Okay. Now, you're not just trying to sell me. No.
Or upsell me, even. You're just giving me the honest opinion.
For a guy that normally wears navy, navy blue, or blue in general,
this is completely different from what I normally wear.
But why does this work? And is it something that you normally do with your customers?
Yeah, I mean, I'm always open to showing people things that might be a little bit out of their comfort zone.
But I think that looks really good on you.
It's a little bit more muted, so it's not super bright and in your face.
There is a ton of blue in there, so you have a lot of blue undertones,
which work really good with you and what you're comfortable with.
So, yeah, I think once you get a guy in something like that, checks it out, he's going to like it, too.
Yeah, and the fit in the jacket's a little bit more snug than what I would wear,
but obviously you have sizes as well.
Even untucked and with an open jacket, it has more of a casual vibe to it.
You get the suit on. The look is something that we work on, you know,
and it's based on either your job, your personality or your environment, right?
And all of those things come into play.
When you walk into Jason Lewis, there is a lot to choose from.
Where do you set, like when that person first walks in, where do you set them off to go shop immediately?
Well, first we got to find out what they're looking for, you know,
if they're just looking for a wardrobe update that leaves it open to showing them everything and everything.
But if they're looking for a specific event or in your case,
like if they wanted a coat that they could dress up with a tie and dress pants
or wear with their jeans out to dinner, then we kind of know where to steer them from there.
And I'm glad that you said jeans to dinner because it is something that more people are wearing a nice cut of jeans.
I mean, the jeans in here, price points are much, much more,
I guess, elevated than a typical retail or big box type location.
But you're going to get that comfort. You're going to get the fit.
You can get the quality of those types of fabrics as well.
You have big name brands, some of which a lot of people have never heard of.
You had mentioned Tommy Bahama before, but Tommy Bahama is more than just lounge and beachwear, isn't it?
Yeah, Tommy Bahama has a very, very large line.
So they have all sorts of stuff for year round,
so heavy things for winter as well as things for the beach.
And because of age, too, it doesn't mean if you're wearing a specific brand or a name,
it doesn't mean that you're fitting that age demographic.
You can use your age and skew younger by what you're wearing
or play into that exact demo that they're usually shooting for.
I got to tell you what, Jason Lewis, two locations, one here and then one in Green Bay.
This location, relatively new, but they've been at it for nearly three decades and no one in his family, no men's clothes.
Clearly, if this you think works for me, I think so.
I might take it into consideration for my next shopping experience.
Maybe in 2027, though. More Fox 6 Wake Up coming back after the break.
Maybe even another look for me.
When a new baby arrives, everybody remembers the baby, of course,
but sometimes mom gets lost in all of that excitement, right?
So Brian Cramp is back at Little Moon in Mequon
to see how the children's boutique is making sure that mothers get a little care and attention, too.
Can't forget about mom, right? Yeah, without a doubt, too.
And we're with a mom of two that got what, like, integrals of 25 minutes of sleep four or five times.
You may have got a couple hours of sleep last night.
It's funny because as your new parents, which you're already a parent,
you're a parent of two, but that comes around and some babies are different than others.
So you need time, you need sleep, but also you need the support.
And I think that's one thing that you are very focused on, Paige,
when creating Little Moon and this children's boutique is that you're offering that to the guests.
How? Correct. Well, I want it to be for everyone.
There's we go up to size 11 years of age.
We also have a lot of gifts for people who are trying to conceive,
who are expecting a lot of resources and books for them, as well as for the kids you already have.
So we have a bunch of screen free toys because you need that when you're pregnant or expecting.
You need things for them, for your other children to do.
So, yeah, I like these books, too.
And I also like the fact that you have the wood toys, too.
You're keeping things as organic as possible, even with beeswax crayons and the stuffings, too.
They seem like they're of good materials.
Yes, they're hand knit and these actually give back.
They're actually they feed children all over the country.
Awesome. I love that you're very thoughtful when it comes to picking out the items.
Now, these are great items, though.
I mean, let's be honest, some of the stuff on the racks, absolutely adorable, too.
It looks like you've got some pumpkins that are in season.
Look at that. You're getting ready for fall.
Is that part of the business and being an owner that you love?
Very seasonal. The seasonal stuff.
I stocked these twice already.
They sold out in a week in August.
I had no idea. I just put them out and they sold out within a few days.
Yeah. And as we walk around, too, it seems like you have things here every season as well.
Yes. I try really hard to make sure we're hitting every single season, like you said.
But also the things that you can match with older siblings, with younger siblings.
And we also have matching outfits for boys and girls for photo shoots, like you said.
But also just pieces that you can wear for a photo shoot, but you can also wear at the park, wash, mud comes out, and you're back up and running.
I almost want an adult onesie like this or a matching suit so you can take some holiday photos later on.
For you, what makes owning your own children's boutique kind of like a dream come true?
You know, what's funny is the best selling dress we have is the birthday dress.
There's sequins at the bottom and little girls love it.
People see it from like when they're walking through the hall, they come and they grab it.
A little girl picked up and she literally started crying.
She was so happy that she had it.
And that was an unexpected reward for me, was seeing how happy she was to get something like that and then putting my daughter in it when I got home.
It's a beautiful store and it's new here in the East Town Square in Mequon.
Fox Local for more information, guys.
Little Moon Children's Boutique.
Swing on by if you have a little one or, yeah, just like Paige said, if you're a parent and you just need some support as well, she and her team are here for you.
More Fox 6 Wake Up coming back after the break.
Thank you.
From finding the right fit for men, making kids shopping a little more special, to even activewear that is designed to keep up.
Brian Cramp went to Mequon to check it all out this morning.
Brian, any good finds that are still in your mind as you drive back?
All of it, to be honest.
This is definitely a spot I think that your family would love to spend some time in.
It takes care of the kids.
It takes care of mom.
It takes care of dad.
Whether it's formal, whether it's active, and the entire family is going to find something special.
Let's start it off with men's because I'm not the type of person to sway too much.
I got to be honest with you, Sam, here at this particular store that we stopped off at first, which is called Jason Lewis.
I think we have some video for it.
Hopefully we do.
It is, wow, you walk in and you're like, I want this.
I want that.
But a lot of times as a guy, I'm very hesitant to try new, like, trends, right, or new colors.
But one thing that Noah did, as the owners have done for more than 25 years, is that they make you feel comfortable.
And as you can see from some of the pants as well as the dress shirts there, they are beautiful.
I mean, I want to wear some of this stuff.
And then as we get going from the guy's side of things to the kids, I love the fact that a mom of two and a new mom at that,
opened up a children's boutique one month before her second child was born.
And the next location I'm talking about is Little Moon Children's Boutique.
They just opened there, I believe it was in March this year.
Wonderful clothes.
She's very thoughtful about the way she picks and chooses some of the items here.
A lot of it is organic materials as well as the books and the toys go, but they're fun.
They're cute.
They're approachable in price range as well, so you're not paying at an ultra high level.
But you're not getting the deep discount maybe that you would at a big box retail store.
And then when it comes to making sure that dad's taken care of, and of course the kids are taken care of, what about mom?
Well, ladies, it's time to get your leisure on.
The third store that we stopped by was Karma 262.
And I got to tell you, as soon as you walk in there, you will sense that the owner, Kara,
is an individual that likes to wear comfortable clothes.
Everything in this store is super soft, really comfortable in appearance,
but also when you touch those clothes, different types of fabrics that you can feel against your skin.
So I would imagine that a shopping experience usually isn't like this.
If it is a family of three, four, five or more,
you're walking into one store and you're trying to fill the bucket for each person.
This one has different stores specifically for each individual and family.
And the nice thing is, I have to say this, that the mall itself is at East Town Square.
East Town Square is one of those hidden gems in Mequon.
You can find stuff to eat, you can find great gifts, and you can find great clothes as well.
And you can get your nail and hair done.
I say hairs, but it's one hair.
Hey, it's for everybody.
And as you mentioned, a lot of people like to go if it's Tosa or Pleasant Prairie or even out to Johnson Creek Shop.
You can do it right there. And it's something literally for everyone.
Brian Cram showing off what there is to shop at in Mequon.
Appreciate you.
