Are conservatives supposed to be upset that people from different ethnic backgrounds can enjoy college football? A viral photo of some brown students from the stands of this weekend’s UT-Ohio game went viral when a random low-level local GOP candidate said gross things about their skin color.
The video criticizes a Texas GOP candidate for making racist remarks about the ethnic diversity of University of Texas students during a football game. The speaker debunks claims that foreigners are displacing local students using demographic data and further discusses the political contradictions and funding of Senate candidate James Tallarico.
Are conservatives supposed to be upset that people from different ethnic backgrounds enjoy college football?
A viral photo of like, I don't know, 30 Brown students from the stands of this weekend's UT-Ohio game
went viral when a random low-level local GOP candidate said
kind of gross things about their skin color.
After we review why football is great,
I'm going to run through some stats about UT's demographics,
Texas Senate candidate Ken Paxton's reaction,
and why James Tallarico is actually the most racist candidate of them all.
There's a person named Beau French.
He's running for railroad commissioner in Texas.
And he snapped a picture of UT students who were celebrating their miraculous win over Ohio.
So, for those who missed the game,
basically, Texas was down 20 points in the last quarter,
and Archie Manning came back,
21 points in the fourth quarter, incredible comeback.
And the cameras flashed through the crowd,
and one part of the University of Texas at Austin crowd
was pretty clearly heavily Indian.
It's a lot of people who have heritage that is not white, right?
That is what is happening in this photo.
It looks like some people of Hispanic origin,
some people of Indian origin,
maybe some people of Arabic origin,
just ethnically speaking.
So, Beau French tweeted out a picture of this,
said, I heard UT graduation this year looked like this.
I didn't believe it.
The problem is now obviously far worse than anyone imagined.
Now, a few things about this.
One, these are not people who are there flying the Mexican flag
or the Palestinian flag or protesting for Gaza.
The only evidence we have about the belief system of these people
is that they are putting up the Texas hook'em horns
for a football team in Texas.
That's literally the only thing we know about them,
is that they are Texas football fans.
So, here's the thing.
If you look at this picture,
there are three ways to interpret this picture.
One of them is to just look at it and look at the ethnicities,
in which case the answer is kind of who cares,
because I know a lot of great people who have Indian heritage.
I know a lot of people who are awesome,
who have Scottish heritage.
I know a lot of people who suck, who have all these heritages.
I mean, that's just the reality of humankind.
So, when I see a bunch of people
who are celebrating University of Texas winning a football game,
my first thought isn't, oh my gosh,
that is a lot of people with the wrong ethnicities,
because I don't think that's a good way to think.
In fact, I think it's quite a bad way to think.
Now, if you were to tell me that University of Texas,
just without reference to this picture,
imported thousands of students from Saudi Arabia,
I'd be like, I'm not sure why we are doing that.
Or, by the way, thousands of students from communist China
who are going to return to communist China.
I'd say I don't think that that's a great idea,
but the problem is far worse than anyone imagined,
based on a picture of people celebrating
University of Texas.
I mean, these are probably second-generation kids
or kids of immigrants.
That's probably who these people are.
And the demographic breakdown of University of Texas
is pretty diverse.
UT admits 89 to 91% of all in-state undergraduates.
Only 7% of the UT student population is from out of state,
according to College Factual.
Only 4% is international.
Asian students make up about 22 to 26% of the UT campus.
UT does not disaggregate the Asian category
into South Asian, which means like Pakistani or Indian,
versus East Asian, which would be like Chinese or Japanese.
And realistically speaking, there are some 200 to 300
foreign exchange students who come from the Middle East
to University of Texas every year,
out of some 40 or 50,000 people
for University of Texas at Austin.
The population of University of Texas at Austin
is like 30% white, I think 28% Hispanic,
somewhere in that neighborhood.
So Beau French got a lot of flack for this.
He said, I cheered the win for the team.
It was a great game.
I weep for the families in Texas who can't get into UT
because they prioritize foreigners or Texans.
Shame on you for ignoring that fact.
Now again, that's not true.
90% of in-state undergrads
are admitted to University of Texas.
Now, again, this is a bit of selection bias here
because here is a picture of part
of the Texas student section.
As you can see, that is a lot of kids from various countries.
Many, many, many of those kids are white.
So this is, it's a weird, it's a weird picture to pick.
Like 100,000 people in the stadium.
So not great, Bob.
Not a great tweet.
There's a threat to your health and wellbeing right now.
The threat is you're not getting enough sleep.
I know all about this.
Honestly, I have many, many children,
a very demanding schedule.
That means when I put my head on my pillow at night,
I need to be asleep immediately.
And the way that happens for me at home
is my Helix Sleep mattress.
Because again, it was made just for me.

Ken Paxton tweeted out after James Tallarico attacked him.
I condemn racism in all of its forms,
including James Tallarico,
saying white men are America's top terror threat
and that he prays to overcome his own whiteness,
whatever that means.
Only one person in this race
has a history of dividing Texans by race,
and it's James Tallarico.
I will continue to focus on uniting our state
and bringing together the broadest possible coalition
to fight for Texas, our values, and our families,
which is a great response by Paxton.
Now, meanwhile, speaking of that Texas Senate race,
James Tallarico is out there trying now
to reverse all of his stances.
So he came out on Fox and said,
by the way, there are only two sexes,
and now he supports banning trans surgery for minors.
Wow, that's weird.
That's weird.
You can confidently say there are two sexes,
a man and a woman.
Speaking of gender,
would you vote in favor of a national ban
for transgender surgeries when it comes to minors?
Absolutely.
And in fact, in the legislature,
I voted for an amendment
that would have restricted the bill in question
to a ban on surgeries for minors.
Now, again, James Tallarico trying to reverse course
is not going to work.
The Texas Democratic Party manager,
a person named Jennifer Miranda,
she came out and said,
Tallarico, by the way, he's fibbing.
He still supports the trans kids.
Why would he walk back?
I would say that right now
he's trying to target a whiter net,
which unfortunately means like being more palatable
to Republicans here in Texas.
Okay.
In his heart, he's still, great, great.
I mean, again, he's lying to you folks.
If you're in Texas and he's pretending he's a moderate,
it's because he's lying.
He's not telling you the truth
about what he believes, obviously.
What Tallarico really is in favor of
is going on Jimmy Kimmel
and virtue signaling that he's basically like Jesus.
We oftentimes think of Jesus as this gentle,
polite, kind person,
which he certainly was.
No, he kicked ass.
Well, when his neighbors were being hurt
by powerful people,
he didn't stay in his room and pray.
He walked into the seat of power
and he flipped over the tables of injustice.
It was an act of civil disobedience
on behalf of his neighbors.
And I think we all have to follow that example
in this moment,
when so many of our neighbors are being hurt
by a broken, rigged, corrupt political system.
And so that's our inspiration.
His inspiration is Jesus.
Also for the, you know, chopping the parts off the kids.
Because Jesus apparently was in favor of all those things.
Now, again, he's being backed by a lot of outside money.
Reid Hoffman, who is the LinkedIn co-founder,
donated 10 million bucks to the main super PAC
supporting James Tallarico.
Again, Reid Hoffman has flushed a lot of money
down the left-wing toilet in Texas before.
Gave a bunch of money to Beto O'Rourke.
Gave a bunch of money to Colin Allred.
Now he's giving a bunch of money to Tallarico
to try to flip the state.
Now, to, you know, everybody's chagrin,
Texas is way too close.
Meaning if you take a look at that polling in Texas,
it is unpleasantly close right now.
It is essentially a toss-up.
James Tallarico is ahead in every poll,
literally all except one.
Since July, that is not great.
Again, I expect the PACs will end up winning the seat
when Republicans come home late in the election,
but Hoffman is tossing 10 million bucks behind Tallarico.
Not a gigantic shock.
Then he says that he claims all his money
comes from hardworking Texans.
Reid Hoffman is not from Texas, my dude.
The thing about fundraising is you gotta look
at where the money is coming from.
You know, I don't take a dime from corporate PACs.
I never have, never will.
All of my money comes from hardworking Texans
who are giving five, 10, $15 at a time.
Except for Reid Hoffman who gave you 10 million.
Other than that, exactly the same thing.
What an amazing video you just watched.

Every significant movement in history
started with protesting.
You're a traitor.
Uncle Tom.
This is our generation's civil rights.
I have no idea what the protest is about.
Given the current climate,
should a figure as polarizing as Clay Saunders
even be allowed on campus?
Can you hear me okay?
Saunders is a close personal friend of Chancellor Friedman.
This is a decision I cannot fight.
Islam will conquer the West.
Assalamu alaikum.
Are we paying attention?
They've taken over the building.
They're downstairs and they've blocked the doors.
I seek forgiveness from Allah the Almighty.
We cannot run and hide.
Mohammed is the messenger of God.
There is no God but Allah.
What do you say?
We turn those SOBs into a fine red mist.
As we move, one man will cover while the other guys go.
They call that leapfrogging.
Shut your mouth and listen.
You need a course in safe weapons handling.
