The Last of Summer | Quiet Botanical Illustration in Ink & Coloured Pencils | No Talking Art Session

• A slow, quiet drawing session — wild grasses and crocosmia, drawn in fountain pen and finished with soft coloured pencils.

This isn't a tutorial or a planned illustration. I start with a few crocosmia stems and let the grasses find their own direction — long sweeping lines crossing the page, some bending, some standing straight, the kind of tangle you'd find at the edge of a field in late summer. The drawing builds the same way it always does: one stem suggests the next, and the colour goes on slowly once the line work feels settled.

No talking, just the sound of the pen moving across paper.
