We Tried Something NEVER Done at Buoy 10... JIGGING FOR SALMON!
Sep 14, 2026
Oh, come on, eat it, dude.
Oh, there he is, got him, got him.
Big king, big king.
Oh my God, dude, big king.
No, come on, oh my God.
Let's go 40 on the front rod,
just go nice and slow down to the current, Spunky,
so really make sure you,
Cameron Black has a fish on right now, Cameron Black.
Cameron Black has a fish on.
His name is Cameron Black and he is really good at fishing.
John is gonna get a bite, yeah.
Here they are, get ready.
Oh, here he is.
Oh, Alex, you got one too.
Oh God, everybody reel up.
He's on the back side.
You got one too.
Everybody's got one.
What do we do?
We were joking about the quad.
We were joking.
Hey, Alex, welcome back to another episode
of Addicted Fishing.
We've officially been fishing for 30 seconds
and we have three on.
We got one hanging in there.
John's got one on and Alex has one on.
We're out here at buoy 10 doing a little beat down session.
Alex, you got a good one on, bud.
Oh, and oh for three.
Oh my God, I don't even know what to do.
All right guys, this is what buoy 10's all about.
Little bit of chaos.
Did he really get them?
Yeah, he really got them.
Oh yeah, it's chaos.
Panic, everybody.
We started with a quad, now we got a double.
Let's see if we can get a triple.
Man, Alex, you lost yours.
Go back in, Alex, you lost mine.
Well, this is what happens when you bring the sea team.
All right, guys, let's see how many seconds go by
until our next bite.
Oh, zero.
There is so many fish in here, guys.
There he is.
Oh, you got a bite, right here.
All right, this is a beautiful fish right here.
It's a hatchery fish, which we can only keep hatcheries today
but we're being a little selective.
Alex, you got a good king on, bud.
Oh my gosh.
All right, here we go.
No, just back a little bit.
Lift, lift, pull.
Oh, you do it.
Oh, oh, there's one.
Got him two at a time.
We got him two at a time.
Welcome to the club.
You know what, fish?
We didn't throw that.
This beautiful coho.
And you can see here, guys, it's a hatchery fish,
so we're in a hatchery only season
and these are really just starting to show up
and it's bleeding a lot.
We're gonna go ahead and hold this over here.
So where we're fishing at, guys,
is in this specific area.
There's not a lot of boats over here,
so we have a real bad problem with sea lions in here.
Hooking four at a time and just letting them
sit in the rod holder's not a great way to do this.
What a start.
There he is.
I suck.
That's what happened.
Oh, he's on a double.
We're on a double.
That might be a king.
No.
Did you just pop?
He literally, like, he was pulling and then just popped.
This is a real one.
Guys, the sea lions are so bad over here right now.
I'm nervous even with my hand.
All right, Alex with another stud.
Look at that.
That's a true upriver bright, guys.
That's what we're looking for.
You see the clear fins, the really bright cheeks,
all that is just a beautiful fish.
We're gonna get her back.
Come on, get out of here before
See if I can get him on.
Guess I'm not that good.
Get ready, bow rod, bow rod.
You get out.
I got one.
Get a net, John.
I got John, get a net.
Oh, he's already got him.
No, you little, get a net, John.
Right here.
We got another one.
That's a good one.
Guys, I just pulled that fish in the boat
because there was a seal literally trying to eat it.
Go, John, he's on you.
Go, seal's on you.
Go, look at the seal coming right here, John.
I'm getting sore.
That one's good right now.
Oh, he's missed it.
Oh, he's got it.
No, he missed it.
That was crazy.
I felt him on the drop.
Yeah.
You're done?
Oh, you got one, Alex.
Oh my God, that is huge.
Yep.
Right there.
We're gonna get this one, Alex.
What's your tip, Alex?
Oh my gosh, we got chaos, guys.
We got chaos.
We got both of them, John.
Oh my God.
Let's go around the bow.
Get back here, John.
Alex, take this.
What are you doing?
Can you get back up?
Can you not go home?
He's in the corner and he's on the boat.
Oh my gosh.
That was a miracle.
Look at that.
On a boat, baby.
That don't happen very often.
Beautiful fish, though.
Look at that thing.
Good job.
You see the dark fin there, guys?
That dark peck fin is a real indicator.
You wanna see a little clearer fins.
I'm gonna let her go.
This one's gonna die.
Welcome to the club.
Boink.
Look at that.
It's an absolute perfect specimen of a coho.
You can't ask for a better fish.
I mean, these are just solid grade, eight pounders.
Best eating fish on the planet, I believe.
We're gonna get these things reloaded
and get another one.
Let's do it.
We're gonna do something
that might be a little out of the ordinary here.
So guys, we're gonna break out the old knife jigs.
I've always wanted to do it out here
and there is no better time.
We have a small tide,
so we're not gonna be having too much current out here.
So, but this is what we did in Alaska to catch our kings.
We'd use these little knife jigs
and you just vertical jig them on tops of schools of fish.
And it is one of the funnest ways to catch a salmon.
So we're gonna de-barb these hooks
and we're gonna get to work, baby.
Wider blip.
I'll go blue.
Good choice.
Oh, drop them.
They're right here.
Go to 30.
They're about 30 feet.
Okay, guys.
Yeah, you can drop them to the bottom
and all you're doing is just like big flutters
and let it fall.
And they're gonna eat it on the drop.
Oh, he's on it.
He turned on it.
He's coming.
Oh, he's trying to eat it.
He's trying to eat it.
You see my jig on the live?
There it is right there.
It's kind of fluttering up and down.
You'll see, they'll start to chase it.
I had a bite already.
Oh, I got him.
I got him.
That is a cod.
That is 100% a cod.
Reel, reel, reel.
Let's see him.
Reel, reel.
Nice.
Oh, yeah.
It's got a flounder.
Look at this, guys.
I've always said that there's probably a fishery
for these out here.
These are a starry-eyed flounder.
They're actually very, very good eating,
but they're like a miniature halibut,
but they're good eating.
I'm not gonna keep it, but do you want one, Al?
They're good eating.
Got him on the jig, baby.
Got him.
There he is, silver.
Everybody doubts me.
Daddy's got you.
I've been wanting to do this for years, guys,
and this is an incredible...
It's the best bite and the best fight.
Make sure you got a tight drag, guys,
because when you get on them,
you really want to hammer them.
This is just something I've always wanted to try,
and I just proved that it will work.
Don't get me wrong.
When you're fishing out here with heavy leads
and big 360 flashers, that's awesome and fun, too,
but when you hook a fish, a big king,
on one of these jigs, there's nothing like it.
You're straight to the fish with no weight on there,
and they just burn you up.
That thing was chasing my jig.
Oh, here we go.
We're gonna get one, Alex.
There he is.
Do you see him jigging it?
Oh, here he comes.
Here he comes.
He's chasing it up.
Oh, my God, come on.
Oh, come on, eat it, dude.
Oh, there he is.
Got him, got him.
Big king, big king.
Oh, my God.
Dude.
Big king.
No!
Come on.
Oh, my God.
Chaos has erupted.
Oh, my God, dude.
Get out of there, Alex.
I'm like, oh.
Oh, my God.
Dude, I got a king on a jig.
Come on.
Look at that.
Dead center in the corner of the chompers.
How about them apples, baby?
The big ones eat it.
There's nothing like this, dude.
There is nothing like this.
This is so sick, dude.
I've been wanting to do this for so long.
I mean, he's got it center,
corner of the mouth just piped it, dude.
Take that, baby.
Let's go.
I told you this would work.
I'm sorry to all the guides
that might be having people asking to do this,
but not sorry.
Look at that jig,
just fell out of the corner of his mouth.
So what an absolute freak, too.
Swing it here, John.
Oh, my God.
Was that dirty or what, you guys?
Oh, that was so sick, you guys.
He's gonna go eat, if I can feel it.
He's gone.
Epic fail.
Dude.
So I was going to get that fish to take a thumbnail
and he tail slapped me in the sack so hard, dude.
And then I dropped the net in the water with the fish
and he's gone.
It doesn't matter.
It was a tule anyways and we're letting him go.
All right, guys.
So basically caught a couple on the jig,
which was the coolest thing ever.
And I'm so excited to do that.
But it's a weird part of the tide
and we got a lot of wind right now.
And with that jigging,
it's gotta be like really soft tide,
really soft current and not a lot of wind.
So we're gonna troll for a little bit
and just kind of see what happens.
And then if we can figure them out
and find them where they're piled up again,
we're gonna drop them back in
and try to catch more on jigs.
Oh, here he comes.
Oh, he's gonna eat the weight.
Oh, that pissed him off.
Here he comes.
Whoa.
Whoa, come and get it, big boy.
Get away from your daddy.
Okay, I'll go back down.
Oh, he ate it.
He ate it.
Oh, he let it go.
Here he comes.
He's gonna eat it.
It's a big fish.
Now look at him.
He's back down on the bottom.
Get him back up.
Come on.
Here we go.
Come on.
Oh, here he comes.
Here, boy.
Oh, you chased it.
Oh my gosh, this is my pet fish, dude.
What you just witnessed was literally me reeling
that fish from the bottom to the surface, pretty much.
This is all stuff we would have never known
prior to Megalive 2.
And I mean, you literally watched me toy with that fish.
We have another one that's following this rod right now.
They're being kind of weird, but it's just cool.
You get to see everything.
You get to see the interaction of the fish,
how they react to the bait.
Like that one was trying to eat it, but didn't.
So maybe I need to make a little change,
a little longer leader, a little shorter leader.
This one's gonna bite this rod right here.
Oh, he's really thinking about it.
There's one.
Oh.
How do they miss on a spinner, dude?
Here we go.
Right here.
Way to go, John.
That's a big fish, too.
It's just not on yet.
Oh my God.
All right, guys.
So it's been like this all season.
We find these really, really good bites
and you get the perfect,
especially on these smaller tides, it's been like this.
You get these really good bites.
They flare up.
We really weren't after killing fish today.
We were more out to try some new techniques
and mess around and stuff.
So we beat them up really good in the morning
and then we went jigging
and it's kind of fallen on its face a little bit.
So we're running over here, make a little quick change
and give it one more chance
and see if we can kill a couple more fish.
So leave a comment down below.
You think we're going to get any more
or you think I'm done for?
I might be done for.
I don't know if the tide's big enough to make a V here, but.
Clients that really tangle the whole day.
Yes.
Well, not the whole day, but yes.
I think you tangled it.
Looks, yeah, check it.
Reel it in.
He just said,
do you get clients that tangle all day
and then he's tangled.
Sean, tell us what you just did.
What did you ask right before?
I think it's because I just asked Nick
if he has clients that just tangle all day.
And then I just tangled while I was saying it.
Literally while he was saying it.
It's like nothing.
Woo hoo hoo hoo hoo.
Oh my.
145.
Come on bro, reel like you mean it.
You're going to let this thing spawn?
It's taking a while, isn't it?
Farmer's John.
Nick, he's here.
Oh, I thought he just swam out of the net.
It's a hatchery too, my goodness.
That was a ripper.
Look at that one, guys.
Look at that slab.
Slab city, baby.
All right, guys, wrapping up another amazing day.
What do you think?
Dude, I mean, fishermen live for mornings
like we had this morning.
Yeah, that was pretty crazy.
Like, it was nuts.
Lots and lots.
I got to fulfill something I've been wanting to do
for a long, long time.
I knew it would work out here.
We had a good tide for it
and there was lots of fish around.
I think that's the key to that jigging
is there's got to be a lot of fish around
because you got to cover a lot of area.
But I think we probably had, what,
eight or nine chances jigging?
I know I missed a few.
Yeah, and I missed a few
and I also landed a couple.
So all in all, an awesome day.
Quads, triples, doubles.
It was amazing.
Little dead spell in the middle
and then we ended with some nice fish.
So hope you guys had a great time.
