My friend, Dog the Bounty Hunter, is used to dealing with anything the bad guys throw at him. But in the past year, life has thrown more at him than anyone should have to deal with. First, he lost his beloved wife, Beth, to cancer. Then, he had his own life or death health crisis. Now, his family is in turmoil over rumors of a new romantic relationship. Well, Dog is here exclusively today. And he's brought his rumored girlfriend, Moon Angel, with him. So they can finally set the record straight on these tabloid headlines. But my number one concern is my friend's health. And how everything he's going through could still be hurting him. Bring me the dog. Get him, boy. Dog the Bounty Hunter is known for his strength, courage, and compassion confronting criminals. But when he came on our show this fall, he was struggling to confront his own grief over the death of his wife, Beth. I keep having dreams of her in heaven. And I snuck up behind her. I used to do that a lot. And she turned around and said, Big Daddy, what took you so long? I felt an immediate kinship with Dog. And when just a few weeks later, he was reported to have suffered a heart emergency, I rushed to Colorado to offer my support. Hi, sir. How are you? Good. I was worried about you. Going through his medical records and examining the Bounty Hunter, I was alarmed. 148 over 97. Is that good? No, you know that's not good. No, I don't know. I saw in the records Dog had checked out of the hospital against medical advice. I confronted him. Why'd you leave? The truth, I got scared. I'm looking at you and telling you as a friend, you're a ticking time bomb. You aren't going to be here with the heart the way it is right now. At my insistence, Dog did some urgent medical testing. And I brought him back in for a health intervention after his lung scan showed a pulmonary embolism. I'm worried about your cigarettes, but I'm more worried about why you're smoking. Will you commit today to seeing a therapist as soon as you go home, just yes or no? Yes. This is your family. And those folks desperately want you around. I'm going to quit smoking cigarettes, and I'll use any technique, again, that's not a felony, to do that. I'll be here for you. Dog promised to clean up his act, but now a new obstacle is threatening his recovery. Recently, rumors have been flying that he has a new girlfriend, igniting a very volatile and public family feud. Oh, thank you, sir. You're absolutely right. Thank you. I always hug my friends who are smokers primarily to see if they're smoking. The hair gives it away, usually. When was the last time you smoked? Four hours ago. That's good. I got my patch. Can I see it? Yes, sir. Oh, yeah. Only one instead of two. Just show that to the camera. That's what the patch looks like, guys. And only one because you're not as dependent on nicotine. Correct. Come have a seat. Thank you. You know how much that means to me? Really. Well, what got me was when you said you stink. The doctor tells you that, right? So, yeah, that got me. Let's talk about it. And, of course, I'll talk about Moon Angel in a second. But you and I have some business first. Yes, sir. So when you were on the show last, we made some big decisions about your health. Cigarettes were a big part of it. And, dog, just to brag on you, you were smoking four packs a day. Yes, sir. Four packs a day, which means you can't go four hours without smoking. No. So how many cigarettes a day are you smoking? Less than a pack right now. And I use the tip also a little. Yep. Your general health, how do you grade yourself? 97. 97? Yeah. You're active, you're sleeping. Yes, sir. You feel like you can catch bad guys. Are you the greyhound you can be right now? Oh, yeah, I'm the best I've ever been. Look out. Beware a dog. All right. So, we're not going through all the physical things. Let me transition to where I think the big battle was, which is where your mind was at. And the last time on the show, we got into it a little bit because I really thought you'd do well in therapy. Yes. How has that been, talking to somebody? Her name is Amanda, and she's a shrink. A real one. Yeah. And it's like talking to your parents and admitting stuff. So, it helps. I'm a talker, so it helps me to talk. Thank you very much. So, I was at a coffee shop over the weekend, and I opened up the New York Times, the paper of record, and I saw this picture. Just an unbelievable profile, front of the section, profile. And it's been seven months since you lost Beth. Yes, sir. And in the article, you said something that I thought was very beautiful, very profound. You said, I need love. I need it. I'm so needy. So, there are rumors flying around that you have a new girlfriend. That Moon Angel, a long-time family friend, is your new girlfriend. Are you dating Moon? No. You're not? No, sir. Despite what all the tabloids are reporting? No, sir. They reported three days ago I had committed suicide again. Again. So, let me ask you, just man-to-man on this. Yes, sir. Do you have a desire to be intimate, to have sex right now? Well, not as much. I mean, the thought is always there, but not the need and the must-have. I've learned to love without that. Oh, I cry every time I'm on your show. But I can hang, but... So, what does Moon represent to you? My dearest friend. And it's a brighter world right now when she's in it. Fair enough. So, Moon has been a close family friend for years. Her son, Justin, was even referred to as Dog's nephew on their reality show. But he was just arrested for violating the terms of his probation. And according to TMZ, it was because your daughter, Lisa, tipped him off. Called the authorities. Sad. Very sad. So, why would Lisa do that to him? You know, I don't know. That's beyond my comprehension or above my pay scale. All right, we're coming up. Moon is here to respond to the shocking headlines. We're also joined by his longtime friend, Moon Angel, on the press. She's been referred to as his girlfriend. So, Moon, I'm going to just try to understand what's really happening. Because I know the tabloids don't often get it right. You are living in Dog's house. As of right now, yes. How would you define your relationship with him? I've actually lived with him quite a few times in my 21 years. I first started off in a home with them in Hawaii. So, this isn't new to me. So, to me, I would have to say that he's my best friend. Beth was my best friend. They're my friends. And I'm here because my friend's in need and he needed help. So, I just took it in God's hands and went, all right, let's do this. What do I need to do for you? Here we are. What was going on when you called her? Why were you so upset that day? Well, I couldn't stop crying. And I was, you know, I'm not, again, I'm a patch head. I wasn't going to commit suicide with a gun or something. I was going to take a lot of pills because she left, Beth left all her big pills there. So, I thought, you know, I just need one drink of water. You were going to commit suicide? Oh, yeah. What made you choose life over death? She's pretty rough, this one. She's pretty. I say brutally honest. I say brutal. Brutally honest. I don't go in and out. It's one way and this is the way we're going to do it. It needs to get going. We need to get back on the show and get him busy again. Would you call your relationship intimate? It has to be intimate because there's a lot of powerful things going on with Dog. You appreciate why many people watching right now are thinking, for them to be that close emotionally, it has to be a physical connection, too. You want me to answer that? Yes. Okay, no. Beth was my best friend. Duane is my best friend. I'm not crossing that line. So, Dog, Lisa, your daughter, tweeted her shock at discovering that you had taken Beth's clothes out of the closet in the bedroom and put your clothes in there. So, why would you want to move into Beth's closet? Here's what happened. When I got into the house, he would walk by the closet and bawl and walk by the closet and bawl and shut the door and then open the door. And then he would go in, and I think this is pretty intimate, but he would smell Beth. And he would go in there and sit down and cry and cry and cry. And he asked me, do you think that you could take Beth's things out of the closet? So, it wasn't a negative thing. It was because he just couldn't do it anymore. That was tough to walk by the closet, Dog? Well, she needs to finish her story. So, once she did it, I was, like, relieved. And then I walked by. Ah, please. I walked by and it was empty. And I'm like, oh, God. I said, Moon, put some of your stuff in there. She said, no. I said, Moon, it's an order. And she did it. Then there's a video that you post, and people, Moon and Dog, I mean, people follow you guys really closely. It seems like, Moon, you're lying in Dog's bed watching television. Right. So, you know, this is a video of it. Right. So, Dog, does Moon sleep in your bed? No, but that's the only room that has a TV, so everybody comes in my room. So, that's the family room, my bedroom. So, Dog, what is Beth saying about everything that's happened the last couple weeks? Well, one time, she said, if something would happen, because I always said, you're not going to die. Don't worry, you're not going to die. I held that to the very last breath. You're not dying. And she said, I want you to be happy. And I didn't tell you I was going to do this. This is a Dr. Oz show. I think this will put a stop to a lot of this. Moon Angel, will you marry me? What? What are you saying? We're friends, Dwayne. I love you as a friend. That's it? That's the test. So, no, you won't, right? I can't marry you. You can say no. Right at this very moment, I don't see you as that. I love you and Beth as my friends. I know, but I want everyone else to know. Oh, I got you. I'm like, wait a minute, what are you doing to me? Oh, my goodness. Oh, my God. Can I bounce you from that rock to a different one? Sure. Please. How do you feel about Dog's daughter, Lisa, taking out your son, reporting him for violating his parole? Probation. I truly believe that there's a lot of things that led up to that. It got a little skeptical, because I think she was in fear now, because of how close we were. So, I think she was intimidated, and that's what caused the roller effect. And the only way she could get to me, and maybe I would stop doing my friendship and leave and whatever, was to hurt my son. So, I think it's just a hit when she can, and then it's a fight for us to figure it out. I just don't understand why she's doing it. Sorry, Justin was violated for drinking. Justin's got a problem. He doesn't know how to stop drinking once he starts. So, that's where it happens. And Lisa's the same way. She drinks, she gets drunk, and as you know on the media, when she's drunk, she says a whole bunch of stuff. Are they both alcoholics? Yes. Most definitely. Both of them. It hurts me a lot to hear the struggles that the kids are having, because it's hurting my friend, Dog. So, I want to make things right between Dog and your daughter, Lisa, if I can. Thank you. The shift in their relationship has caused a lot of turmoil within his family, especially his daughter, Lisa, which I really hate to see, because I've witnessed the love, the deep love they have for each other firsthand. Dog, I want you to watch this if you can. It really warmed my heart. Why did you get on a plane, fly all the way here, even though your dad said not to come? There's no one in this world that was going to keep me away. I mean, I love him, and I wanted to make sure he was okay. I think he didn't want me here, because he doesn't want to see us seeing him weak. You lonely, Dog? With the kids around, I don't get, but then they leave. Everything's different. Everything. It's a father and daughter who love each other very much. Just starting to deal with that seismic shift in your life, Dog. I don't want the cracks between you and Lisa getting any larger, any wider. Thank you very much. I owe you, Dr. Oz, more than my life. The question is, what are we going to do about this? In order to heal my friend, Dog, we're going to have to deal with you and Lisa. I'm not going anywhere. I understand that you're a rock, you're going to be around. I also appreciate that you're sort of at an impasse now. But someone's going to have to be the best person. I think that everybody is forgivable, and I believe that as the older person, a more experienced person, I don't have hate in me. And one thing I learned as a child was forgive quickly. So, Dog, part of this is about you and where you're headed, and be honest about that. So let's just say, if Lisa was okay with it, and this relationship, which I understand the intimacy of it, gets even stronger, would you actually ask Moon to marry you? Yes. Moon? I just think that... Don't hurt my feelings, though. I think he's an amazing human being, but I've known him before he was famous. So to me, he's my best friend and will always be my best friend. I don't see myself thinking past that. You can't predict the future, but I suspect you're part of his future. Right. I see a lot of emotion sitting next to you. Yeah. And I've studied this, okay? I do a lot of Google as my college education. And a lot of guys fall in love with their wife's best friend. Every day, she talks about it. And I've got to have someone that loves Beth. That's just how I am. Chukawa. Do you love Moon? Yes. Well, here's the thing about Beth, too. People don't understand that I love Beth. She was my best friend. To take it and twist it and make it ugly, I just don't understand how people can do that. I think Dog's having a different conversation. Right. So, Dog, if I can do anything to help you at any level... You have. You have a lot. This is incredible. But I want to double down on Lisa. I didn't realize the drinking issues, and I don't want your son going through more pain either. So maybe we double down with those issues, because without those being solved, I don't think either of you are going to feel comfortable doing what you really want to do in life.
