Well, certainly was planning on coming in here and
talk about the great comeback that we had, but fell short.
Really disappointed in how things shaped up.
Lost a turnover margin, didn't tackle great in the first half.
I'd love to get a call back on the long touchdown run that Underwood had.
They caught us in a bad call.
And we lost the turnover margin to nothing.
Seemed like we were pinned up inside of our five yard line the whole day,
it seemed like, and couldn't ever get it flipped.
They did a nice job with their punt team.
And thought our guys came out the second half and
really got into a really good rhythm.
John, I think, hit his first nine passes in the second half.
And defensively, they didn't do a whole lot.
I think they had five possessions, four punts, and then a short field there.
Had a great opportunity to tackle for
loss there on the first play after the second turnover.
We missed them, and the same thing on the second one.
We're deep in the backfield, we gotta make those plays.
We gotta get them to play a little better, a little cleaner there in that situation.
But I think three three and outs in the second half for their offense.
And again, four punts.
And I'm just proud of the fight of the guys.
That's not gonna get you a whole lot of places.
But again, having the toughness and the resolve and the belief.
They got the right stuff to them.
I know they're gonna respond.
We have to continue to get better.
Had we found a way to put a two minute drive together there and won the game.
I'm gonna come in here and say the same thing, we gotta get better.
And I think it goes without saying, Michigan's a really talented football team.
We know that.
And we're gonna see a lot more talented teams as well as the season goes on.
And so, I know our guys, what they're made of, don't question that whatsoever.
We gotta improve, find out the ways that we can do a better job as a staff and
help them be better when it matters the most.
And again, we gotta do everything we can to, again, put this game behind us.
Learn from it, grow from it, get better from it.
And get ready for, again,
a ten win New Mexico team that's coming in to Norman next week.
