Video Summary
AI GeneratedA climber explores the remote La Madre Range in Southern Nevada, just outside Las Vegas. By revisiting forgotten, high-difficulty projects in the La Madre North area, the climber successfully cleaned and completed a challenging route on unforgiving, uniform limestone, highlighting the joy of discovering hidden potential in the local landscape.
We're down here in Southern Nevada and we're climbing in the La Madre Range.
It's incredible how remote and distinctly beautiful it is here while being so close
to the city.
Only a 20 minute drive from Las Vegas.
The thing that really brought me out here is there were several kind of forgotten old
hard projects specifically in the La Madre North area that caught my eye in the guidebook
and I'd heard about them from a few friends and I had the motivation and the time to come
out and do some cleaning and see if I could honor something super hard and it definitely
turned out that way so I'm very happy.
It's that blocky limestone flavor but it tends to be a little bit more unforgiving.
Really uniform for the whole length of the route and really hard throughout.
Come on Jake, come on try.
Alright man you can take.
It's so exciting and I'm so grateful for all of these cool forgotten areas in Southern
Nevada.
You know when I moved to Las Vegas several years ago I knew there was a lot of potential
for kind of forgotten projects and I think being here and exploring as much as I can
has been such a fun process.
I feel like the list of things to do just grows every single year for me so for what
I want out of climbing and out of my life it's just been great, it's been perfect.
