AI GeneratedThe speaker discusses their investment in Gigastar, a platform that allows investors to buy and sell \"Channel Revenue Tokens\" (CRTs) to earn a share of a YouTube channel's future income. The speaker highlights Gigastar's first-mover advantage in the creator economy and announces their participation in a current funding round via WeFunder.
In today's video, I want to share with you what I'm investing in.
And I just want to be clear from the start that this video is not sponsored.
I enjoy making these investment videos and, well, I like looking for winners.
Like, what can I say?
So I'm simply showing you what I'm doing with my money.
And if you're interested, then you're more than welcome to join me.
The more the merrier.
But before we get started, I just want to say on a side note that
about six months ago, I started investing in copper.
And I know that a lot of people joined me.
And I just want you to know that I closed my position in copper this week for a 21% gain.
So not bad for six months.
And I got about, in my financial community, about 10,000 people to confirm
and back up what I'm saying.
So you're more than welcome to verify.
Okay, so let's get started.
The company in review is Gigastar.
And I just want to say that I invested in Gigastar in their previous funding round.
And I just want to say that I like the progress of the company.
Like, I'm actually very excited about the progress.
And I want you to know that there's another funding round right now for a limited time.
And I'm investing again.
So I want to tell you why I like this company.
The company is Gigastar.
They're based in Chicago, just like me.
And they're capitalizing on the influencer economy.
And they have, I mean, this is very important.
They have the first mover advantage, which is a really big deal.
So I want to explain.
So let me begin with an overview of Gigastar.
And I think the best way to explain this is with an example.
So here's what Gigastar does.
So I'm sure that you are familiar with the stock markets, right?
So let's just say that you have a business.
And your business grows.
And you want to have your business listed on the stock markets.
Let's just say the NASDAQ platform.
So what happens is that you sell a portion of your business to investors, right?
And those investors receive stock in the company,
representing an ownership stake in the business.
And with that money that you receive from investors,
you use that money to grow your business.
And the investors can buy or sell shares of your stock of your company
on the NASDAQ exchange, right?
So that's how it works.
Okay, so if you understood that,
then it's going to be easy for you to understand what Gigastar does.
What they've done is Gigastar has created the platform
where investors can buy or sell YouTube channels.
So in the stock market, if you buy a stock,
then you own a piece of the company, right?
Now with Gigastar, if you buy a channel revenue token,
also known as a CRT,
then you receive a piece of the future income from that YouTube channel.
Now, I just want to give you an example to clarify,
and this is a true story.
In 2023, I sold a portion of my YouTube channel's future ad revenue.
And whoever invested in my channel received channel revenue tokens, CRTs.
And whoever holds those CRTs has been receiving a portion
of my YouTube channel's future revenue.
And I did this years ago,
so you can easily verify on the internet what I'm saying is true.
So let's just say that somebody bought 3% of my channel back in 2023.
Then that person has been receiving 3% of my YouTube channel's revenue
for the past three years.
It's paid monthly, and I think it's a great form of passive income.
So okay, that's great, right?
Now, here's a very practical question.
Where are those channel revenue tokens, those CRTs?
You know, for example, if I buy stock in Tesla,
then those shares of Tesla are at your disposal in your Robinhood accounts,
or your Webull accounts, or your Charles Schwab accounts, right?
Well, it's a similar concept.
If you invest in a YouTube channel,
then those channel revenue tokens are at your disposal in your Gigastar accounts.
So you just open an account on Gigastar,
and if you're familiar with the stock market,
then it's the same concept as those other brokerage accounts.
Now, Gigastar has recently launched the platform
where you can now buy and sell channel revenue tokens.
So it's not a concept anymore.
It is up and running.
So you can buy and sell CRTs right now on their SCC-regulated platform.
So if you bought my CRTs from years back,
you can now sell those on the platform.
It's live.
So I mean, of course, you can buy more if you want to as well,
like whatever your heart desires.
You just go to their website,
and you can check it out for yourself.
I'll leave you a link down below.
So listen, I just want to say that as an investor,
I believe in the potential of this company.
And of course, I'm trying to score a big return on investment on this one.
But of course, as you know, nothing in life is guaranteed.
But I like the risk-reward here.
Anyways, I just want to bring this to your attention
that Gigastar has opened a funding round on WeFunder,
meaning that you can invest in the company Gigastar
and own a piece of the company.
And I just want to be very clear about this.
This is not investing in YouTube channels.
This is investing in the company Gigastar,
the company that's created and owns the platform
that connects social media influencers and investors.
And although it's a smaller company,
valued around $58 million,
I believe that this opportunity should be reviewed seriously.
And here's why.
So the first thing that I want to say
is that Gigastar is gaining more attention.
On August 31st,
so we're talking about it just a few days ago,
Gigastar rang the opening bell on the NASDAQ in New York City.
So they're gaining more visibility.
And then you have larger content creators
that are participating on the Gigastar platform.
And I'll give you an example.
So you have Crafty.
Like, I don't know if you know who that is,
but Crafty is one of the largest Minecraft channels on YouTube
with 5.56 million subscribers and growing.
And that channel makes $1.45 million a year.
Now, not bad for just playing Minecraft, right?
Anyways, there's a whole bunch of YouTube channels
on the Gigastar platform and it's growing.
And the YouTube channels, I mean, it's from categories
ranging from finance to comedy to gaming to travel.
Like, I like the variety.
I've also, of course, listed my channel.
And what I really like about Gigastar,
and this one's very important,
is that they have the first mover advantage
to capitalize on the growing creator economy.
So Gigastar is the one and only platform
that offers an SEC-registered secondary market
for trading channel revenue tokens.
And they have approval in all 50 states
and international participants are welcome as well.
Now, in my opinion, being first to market is huge.
Like, that is a big deal.
So I just want to give you an example.
And we can take a look at AI.
Like, who here thinks that ChatGPT is the best AI chatbots?
Like, a lot of people will say that it's not.
A lot of people that use ChatGPT,
they even know that other AI chatbots are superior.
Yet, because ChatGPT released the first polished AI chatbot,
they had the first mover advantage
and they control 80% of the markets,
even though you could argue
that their product is not the best.
So they took the lion's share of the markets
because they were simply first.
And now, for millions of people,
it's kind of a hassle to switch
to a different AI chatbot, right?
So I really like the fact that Gigastar is first
to get the regulator's approval
and first to market in this creator economy industry.
Now, I want to address this question.
How does Gigastar make money?
And I think this is a very good question.
And I want to tell you from personal experience.
Okay, so I want to answer the question,
but I also want to share my experience with you
because I actually went through the process.
So what happened is that years ago,
I listed this channel, this YouTube channel,
Clear Valley Tax on the Gigastar platform.
So again, that was years ago.
And I just want to say, going through the process,
I'm a satisfied customer.
Otherwise, I wouldn't have invested in the company.
Okay, so when I listed my channel
on the Gigastar platform,
they charged me a listing fee.
And I found it acceptable.
Otherwise, I wouldn't have gone through with this.
So that's one way that they make money.
And then another way is that
when they process the payments,
they charge me, the content creator, a fee.
Like, it's a small fee.
Like, it's not enough to bother me.
But there's a bunch of content creators
on the Gigastar platform.
So they take, you know, a little from there,
a little from me, a little from that person.
And it adds up.
So that's another way that they make money.
And the third way, well, the third, you know,
I guess these are three big ways.
But the third way is that
when people buy and sell the channel revenue tokens,
the CRTs, there's a built-in commission.
So they don't, it's not like a hidden fee or anything.
They explicitly state it.
But that's the third way that they make money.
Okay, so I mean, from what I explained to you,
like, it's not complicated.
It's very straightforward, right?
And another thing is that they're actually expanding
into other social media platforms,
which I think is a great idea.
And here's another thing that I want to show you.
Gigastar is an official partnership with YouTube.
So when I log into my YouTube accounts,
this is what I see.
So this is my YouTube dashboard.
And you can see what I circled in red.
Gigastar is integrated into the content creator's dashboard
due to the partnership.
So this is actually the main screen for a YouTuber.
But listen, if you want to invest and own a part of the company,
Gigastar, then I'm going to leave a link for you down below.
Of course, there have been bigger institutional investors.
For example, OneLegacyOne invested $2.4 million into Gigastar.
Belvedere Strategic Capital invested over a million.
But Gigastar reserved a smaller quantity
to allow smaller investors to have the opportunity
to invest in the company.
And I just want to say that I think that's a smart move
because with a lot of smaller investors,
that's going to help spread the word, of course.
And I just want to say that the Gigastar team,
which I work with personally
because I've gone through their process,
like I found as solid.
Like I had a great experience.
So the CEO founded a company, Option City Software,
which was acquired in a big deal in 2017.
You know, big enough to make the Wall Street Journal.
Then the CEO worked on and sold another company.
And now he's been working on this for the past few years.
And then you have the chief technology officer, the CTO,
founded a crypto trading ecosystem
that was acquired by Robinhood in 2021.
And then he led an engineering team at Robinhood
prior to Gigastar.
And then there's all the other executives
with impressive histories that you can read for yourself.
So listen, just being straightforward,
I wanted to share with you that I'm investing in Gigastar.
I like their first mover advantage.
I like their management.
I like their progress.
And if you want to join me,
then I'm going to leave a link for you down below.
Thank you so much.
And I wish you a very nice day.
Take care.
