Welcome back. Here's a live look across the state. Beautiful sunny skies this evening. Starting to see that sun light up our yellows there from the Tempe camp.
So, it's a warm one out there and it's definitely feeling humid. Here's those high temperatures across the state today.
It was, like we mentioned, a very hot one for the deserts and even up north temperatures were running above average with 95 for the high today in Sedona,
88 in Show Low and 82 in Flagstaff, 94 in Winslow. So, we're still at that kind of peak of the heat wave.
Yesterday was a degree warmer and tomorrow is going to be a degree warmer than today, but generally we're hovering up around that 107 to 108.
We do have a couple of showers and thunderstorms in the outskirts of eastern and southern Arizona, but most of the rain is over the state line in New Mexico.
A couple of these heavier storms are tracking southwestward over the Mazatlan Mountains and that's going to be moving toward Roosevelt Lake and we'll see how far these make it.
I mean, they are tracking in the direction of Globe and we have some of these storms kind of pushing closer to San Carlos as well.
And far southeast Arizona, this could definitely spur some dust down toward the I-10 corridor, so we'll be watching for that for any travelers.
And then we do have a severe thunderstorm warning that's southwest of Safford, way out over the mountain terrain.
But, I mean, these storms are bringing some 60 mile per hour wind gusts, so they are definitely packing a punch.
And they could end up sending some dust out in this direction, potentially toward San Manuel, maybe down toward the Tucson area.
So, a couple things that we're watching, but nothing serious for the valley.
And as we go through the rest of this evening, you see how it all just kind of spreads out in that southwest direction.
But for us in the valley, we're looking partly cloudy.
And as we go through tonight, we should be dry.
For tomorrow, though, looking dry for most to start the day.
Showers and thunderstorms building along the Mogollon Rim.
We could see those up around Flagstaff, Prescott and Payson tomorrow afternoon and evening.
Looking pretty isolated, though.
Not too widespread.
And there will also be some more storms out toward far southeast Arizona as well.
These will spin around the state with the direction of the upper level high pressure.
So, our rain chances are still looking very slim for tomorrow.
We're putting a 10% chance for tomorrow night, just in case an outflow boundary were to make its way in.
As for Friday, a 10% chance during the day.
Slightly higher during the nighttime hours at 20%.
And it looks like the same over the weekend.
Just that chance for some evening and nighttime storms.
But nothing too major.
And for Flagstaff, we are looking at that 10% chance of rain tomorrow.
But the rain chance does go up for the weekend as well.
So, stormier skies potentially this weekend.
And with that, cooler temperatures.
For tonight, we'll drop to 88 degrees in Phoenix.
90 at Lake Havasu.
70 in Sedona.
59 in Show Low.
And 53 in Flagstaff.
And tomorrow afternoon, our last hottest day of this little heat wave.
Before temperatures start to cool down a little bit.
We'll see 97 in Sedona.
89 in Show Low.
85 in Flagstaff.
And 113 out of Lake Havasu and Bullhead City.
Our 10-day forecast shows those low 100s this weekend.
So, slightly cooler than normal.
And next week, dropping to around 100 degrees.
With those low chances for rain this weekend.
