Good Wednesday evening. I'm Chief Meteorologist Emily Walls. We had a cold front move through
today. That's why we had showers around this morning. As of right now, we're starting to
see decreasing cloud cover already. So a pretty nice evening out there. Temperatures, despite the
cloud cover, despite the showers that we started off the day with, we're still able to warm up
into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Here's a check of future casts. So running us throughout
this evening and tonight, that frontal boundary is going to move farther away from us and then
be replaced with high pressure. So tomorrow, I still think we're going to start off the day
with some cloud cover around. This particular model is trying to show a couple stray showers.
I'm not too concerned about that for tomorrow. And then based on the placement of this high
pressure system, I think we're going to have some clouds coming in off of Lake Michigan.
So I think more than anything, we'll have clouds to start off the day, and then we'll break into
some sunshine for the second half of the day. Looking ahead to Friday, sunny skies expected.
Temperatures are going to be right around 80 degrees for the high. Average for this time
of the year is right around 78. Average low temperature, by the way, now sits at 59 degrees,
and we're expecting to be in the mid-60s tonight, so staying above average. Seven-day forecast
tomorrow, 79, decrease in cloud cover. On Friday, we're going to be sunny. We'll have a high near 80.
Shower and storm chances return for the weekend, mainly on Saturday. On Sunday,
there's just a very small chance for an isolated, lingering shower around the region. Temperatures
take a little bit of a hit following a cold front that moves through on Saturday. So by Sunday,
we're in the upper 70s, but again, that's where we should be for this time of September,
and then we'll be back up into the 80s again by early next workweek.
