Humanoid robots from China. Are they taking over or are they just falling
over? Are they our cute companions or are they secretly watching us in our own
homes through secret back doors left open by the China-based manufacturers
that made them? Let's go through these important questions together right after
you smash those like and subscribe buttons so the video can be picked up
and shared out to ever more people. Thank you so much for that. Now to begin with,
the House Select Committee on China wants to basically stop what it calls
dangerous Chinese robots. And in order to do that, earlier this year they
introduced a piece of legislation that requires scrutiny of robots made by
either China as well as other foreign adversaries. The piece of legislation is
called the GARD Act, which is an acronym standing for Guarding the U.S. Against
Adversarial Robotics Dominance. And among other things, it would ban the
importation of robots that the U.S. sees as a national security threat and it
would prohibit the use of specifically Chinese humanoid robots near critical
U.S. infrastructure. Congressman John Molinar, who is the chairman of the House
Select Committee on China, he said the following regarding the need for this
type of a law, quote robots made by China are a threat to national security,
critical infrastructure, and American workers. They contain back doors that can
be hijacked for espionage and our legislation will stop these threats now
before China can embed them throughout America. Now I'm sure that at this point
many of us have seen videos of these Chinese robots on social media. They
often seem to be falling over and ruining some important presentation or
karate-kicking innocent children in the street. Or on the flip side, sometimes
they impress the whole world with their synchronized dancing. And it's fair to
say that the robotics industry as a whole within China is booming with
international conferences, a lot of capital including state-backed capital, as
well as some of the smartest people in the country moving themselves into that
feed. And government officials here in America, they're beginning to take notice.
For instance, the former acting Undersecretary for Intelligence, Mr. John
Cohen, he says that these robots are basically the next step in China's
attempts to undermine America. Take a listen.
Then you had Mr. Arthur Herman, Senior Fellow at the Hudson Institute, agreeing
with that assessment. He sees America as basically lagging behind China when it
comes to the question of robotics. Take a listen.
Along that very same vein, you had Senator Tom Cotton from Arkansas say the
following about these robots.
And so the next logical question here is how? How do these threats manifest? And
one obvious way is on the battlefield. There may not be super soldiers just yet,
but technology moves quickly. Drones have already changed the face of combat
forever. We saw that over in Ukraine. And robots will probably do it again soon.
Imagine having to square up with an eight-foot-tall titanium-plated metal
monster or just trying to outrun this guy on the battlefield. And realistically,
you put a couple of guns, gun turrets on that guy's back, and that is already a
robotic super soldier, basically. At the very least, it can be used as a
kamikaze-style weapon to chase you down and never have to come back.
The Chinese army, People's Liberation Army, being able to use humanoid robots
as suicide troops, let's say, advancing on the battlefield. And that's a real
scenario. That's definitely a future scenario.
All right, just to pause here for a super quick moment. If you've watched our
program, Facts Matter, then you know that we focus on one thing, which is the
facts, not speculation, not narratives, just what the data shows. And right now,
the data globally is pointing in a direction people should really be paying
attention to, which is the fact that global conflicts are fueling market
uncertainty. That's why I believe in owning something real, something
physical, something that the government can't just inflate away, which is
physical gold and physical silver from today's sponsor, which is American
Hartford Gold, the company that I trust and who I've been personally buying from
for many years now. These are tangible assets. They're not tied to policy
decisions or shifting narratives. Gold has held its value for thousands of
years through inflation, currency changes, the rise and fall of empires,
as well as general global instability. In a certain sense, gold actually
thrives in periods of global instability. And American Hartford Gold is a good
company. They have an A-plus rating with a Better Business Bureau, thousands of
five-star reviews. They can deliver your gold and your silver directly to your
doorstep, or they can help you set up a gold IRA if you're trying to diversify
your retirement. And right now, when you call and mention my name, Roman, you
can get up to $20,000 in free silver with your first qualifying purchase. So
give them a call 866-242-2352, or just text Roman to 65532. That's again,
866-242-2352, or text Roman to 65532. I'll also throw all their details.
You'll be able to find them down in the description box below. Now, beyond the
battlefield, we also have American infrastructure security being at risk
from these Chinese robots. I mean, just imagine a China-made humanoid robot
working at a port or at an American power facility. And it seems for a very
long time, like a very benign robot, just a tool that you're using. But many of
these leading Chinese robotics companies, the ones that actually manufacture these
robots, they maintain close ties with military supply chains within China. And
they really actually don't have a choice under Communist Party rule. And so the
robots that they sell to America, as well as to the rest of the world, they could
be easily flipped on a dime for combat. Or, if that's too far-fetched, they could
just be sabotaged. For instance, an order comes from its manufacturer in the form
of a software update, and the robot shuts itself down, stopping production. Or it
can even cause physical disruption, maybe like those pagers and those walkie-talkies
over in Lebanon. Those robots could have tiny explosives hidden within them for
years. They could be working fine for two, three, four, five years, just waiting for
that one day when they get the signal to go off. It's potential scenarios like
these that have the House Select Committee on China wanting foreign robots
to be banned from American critical infrastructure. The risk is just too high.
Also, not only could they attack American infrastructure, but they could also just
collect information on it and then send their manufacturers back home in China
all the intel that they're gathering here in America.
China is trying to expand its technological, economic, and geopolitical
superiority across the globe and reduce that of the United States. So they do
that by stealing sensitive information.
Now, because these humanoid robots require constant patches in order to get
software updates, they come with remote access. And so, just like the tech support
guy can, while he's on the phone with you, take over your home computer and fix
whatever the problem is, a robot technician can remotely access that
machine as well. And then, once he's inside, theoretically he can control it
for nefarious purposes. And even if you disable remote access, you cut off
whatever it would be like Bluetooth, probably not Bluetooth, but Wi-Fi access,
we've already seen too many examples of hidden back doors. For instance, you had
those DJI brand robot vacuums give their camera and microphone access to
strangers. You had cranes at American ports that were found to have modems
hidden inside of them that were sending back shipping data to China. You had
Chinese buses that had kill switch capabilities in them over in Europe, so
theoretically the buses can get just shut down with a software update. You
have communication devices being found inside of Chinese-made solar power
inverters right here in America that could theoretically sabotage the power
grid. And then, closer to our discussion of these humanoid robots, there was the
recent discovery of a secret remote tunnel within the Unitry G01 brand robot
dogs. These cute little robot dogs from China, they were found to have a back
door enabled within them, within the programming, that would allow for spying
as well as the controlling from a foreign person of the robot within your
own home. Quote, Unitry Robotics pre-installed an apparent back door on
its popular G01 robot dogs that allowed anyone to surveil customers around the
world, according to findings from two security researchers. Anyone who came
across the public-facing web API could see where G01 robot dogs were, and if the
robot was online, they could view live camera feeds without needing to log in.
This then gave the people in China, or I guess the people anywhere in the world
who happened to come across this API access, the ability to stream live video
from the robot's camera, the one that it had in those two eyes, and control where
the dog went. So they could literally send it wherever they want and look at
whatever they want inside of people's homes. And so that is the very serious
privacy aspect. Lastly, there is the broad-based economic threat posed by
these humanoid robots. The Chinese Communist Party wants to be the American
government and become the global hegemon, technologically, economically,
industrially, and maybe even physically. And they're not shy about it, that's not
even, I wouldn't even call that an open secret, that's just a publicly known fact.
And they see these humanoid robots sort of like they see AI, as the next arena
where they can state their dominance and overtake America in that curve, where the
whole world is curving and adopting AI or adopting humanoid robots, they can
catch up on that curve and basically take over America before the next stage happens.
AI now can reach out and touch and move, physically move things or produce things
in ways that are, I would say, more have gone beyond just the realm of science
fiction, but have really moved into the realm of making China's next big move as
the world's leading industrial power.
Also, it's now been over two years since Senator Katie Britt of Alabama warned the
world about the threat of these Chinese robots in an op-ed within the Wall Street
Journal, quote, China wants to lead the world in all robotics, especially
humanoids, and is able to do it for less, owing to its inhumane labor practices. As
estimates indicate, Chinese humanoids might cost as little as one fifth as much as
their Western competitors.
And we know that Beijing is more than willing to violate international trade laws to
dump cut rate products into the U.S.
and other markets, undercutting competition and emerging as the only option for
consumers. And that description is basically the same playbook we've seen many times
before. The CCP heavily subsidizes their robot manufacturers, who already benefit
from cheap local labor as well as more lax environmental policies.
But then they flood other markets with robots that cost 20 percent of what, let's
say, an American company can charge for a similar robot.
They bankrupt the U.S.
companies because everybody is obviously going to go for the comparable cheap Chinese
model. And then Americans become dependent on a Chinese monopoly.
Then once the local competitors are gone and everyone's owning one of these Chinese
robots and that's the only option, the Chinese Communist Party is free to pull their
subsidies, send prices skyrocketing, hitting the pockets of everyday Americans.
It is the exact playbook that they use for EVs in places like Europe, Australia,
Southeast Asia and Latin America.
However, it is worth mentioning that right here in the United States of America, because
we banned the importation of Chinese cars, the CCP was never able to pull that trick on
us. And so looking at that sort of effect, it's perhaps a similar ban on Chinese made
robots that can prevent that type of a predatory monopoly from forming, which I guess is
the exact purpose of the Guard Act being pushed by the House Select Committee on China.
And so that is where we're currently at in the story.
If you want to put something on your calendar in this regard, by the way, next month,
between October 12th and October 16th, is the next major robotics trade exhibition in
China. It's the CIIF Robot Show in Shanghai.
And so let's see what they're developing there.
Drop a comment down below if you'd actually like me to do a follow up episode detailing the
highlights from that show, because I usually do watch those shows because they're
interesting, right? They show you sort of like the cutting edge of a robotics industry
that's being propped up by billions in government subsidies.
So it is interesting to see like the latest developments in terms of what they're able to
do, what they look like on both the humanoids and also the ones that they're developing
that are like not humanoids.
Because if you kind of like stop the need to make your robot look human, you can design
it in a weird way.
But it has like more functionality towards what you are actually trying to achieve.
Like the robot we saw was able to transverse the mountainside.
I guess it's built more like a dog with wheels.
But if it was made to look more like a human, it wouldn't be able to do that.
So anyway, a bunch of interesting robots there.
And if you want me to do an update on that show, let me know in the comments section
below. Otherwise, if you would like to dig through any of the research notes for today's
episode, I'll throw the links down into the description box below, which is that
description box right below those like and subscribe buttons, both of which I hope you
smash so this video can reach ever more people.
Thank you so much for that. And then lastly, on, I guess, a good kind of topical side
note on Epic TV, we published a great documentary called The Final War, which goes
into a lot more detail of what the CCP is up to, like what we discussed in today's
episode with these humanoid robots.
That's just one sliver and one aspect of a kind of a multi-pronged, you know, kind of
octopus style, many tentacles approach that the CCP is trying to take down America,
basically, you know, in the economic sphere, in technology, in in lawfare, in by
stealing our trade secrets, by flooding our schools with pro CCP minded students who are
going to learn but then take back to China all the all the great knowledge that they
were able to gain here in the US.
Basically, it's a very multi-pronged approach that they're using.
And what our researchers were able to uncover is that it's not even like kind of an
organically formed thing.
It's actually a top down plan, a hundred year long plan to take down America because I
they're a communist nation.
They're able to institute these 100 year long plans.
And the documentary sort of exposes it.
And by exposing it, you can be extremely clear eyed.
So when you see a story like this, you understand, wow, I see exactly what they're doing
and how this plugs in to their broader plan to become the global hegemon.
And I don't even know what it is.
I guess if you want to look at it ideologically, it's push communism.
But I think it's beyond that.
I don't think enough even communist cadres believe in communism anymore as an ideology.
I think it's just a power play.
They just want to expand their influence and just overtake the US as the global hegemon.
Anyway, that was a long ramp.
I would highly recommend the film The Final War.
It's a great movie.
It's actually very long, which I think is great for a documentary like this, because it
really like leaves no stone unturned.
It goes through all the documents, all the implementation, all the behind the scenes
interviews we're able to get.
And it really does expose and paint the picture of what's happening behind the scenes.
I would highly recommend it.
The link to it will be right there at the top of the description box below.
Hope you check it out.
The greatest threat facing the United States is the CCP.
The Epoch Times investigation team had studied the CCP for years.
But what we uncovered was yielding evidence beyond our imagination.
With Chairman Mao, with the prime minister, our talks have been characterized by
greatness. The Clinton administration said, oh, don't worry about it.
This will be a poison pill for China.
China's strategic goal is to make sure that the U.S.
has four enemies and one of them must be a terrorist group.
We are giving of our life's blood so that the Chinese Communist Party can survive and
thrive. And then until next time, I'm your host, Roman from The Epoch Times.
Stay informed. And most importantly, stay free.
