Building a 50-by-80-foot dream shop is a very different challenge from putting up an ordinary garage. The dimensions alone change the rules: walls rise sixteen feet, the roof has to cross a huge uninterrupted span, oversized doors must accommodate serious equipment, and thousands of square feet of structure have to remain square, stable and protected from the weather.

Before any of that can happen, however, the entire project depends on something far less spectacular, which is (you were right!) getting the ground, elevations and geometry right.
