Where do your federal income tax dollars really go?
Lara Logan sits down with former IRS Criminal Investigation Division Special Agent Joseph Banister for a conversation about government spending and the federal income tax system.
From foreign aid and federal agencies to education and government spending, Lara and Joseph discuss where taxpayer money goes and challenge some of the assumptions Americans have about what their federal income taxes actually fund.
Banister spent years inside the IRS before beginning his own investigation into the federal income tax system. Today, he argues that Americans should examine the law and the way their tax dollars are being used for themselves.
I think they did a study today, they'd find it all goes to George Soros and his NGO industrial
complex. No, I'm just kidding. Obviously, it doesn't all go there, but way, way,
way too much of that money goes there. He's got a slice of the pie.
Yeah. And it goes to California to balance the budget. They can't balance on their own
because it's ridiculous because communism, Marxism, socialism is a disaster that cannot
be financially sustained. And, you know, and oh, wait, let me see. It goes to rich kids
all over the country to subsidize their their education at universities so that they can then
load over the rest of the population. Oh, yeah. And it goes to Ukraine to fight a
completely illegitimate war. Oh, yeah. And when 40 million dollars a week goes to the Taliban,
terrorist regime in Afghanistan against the express wishes of the American people.
And then it goes. Well, it was until President Trump, it was going to find LGBTQ
programs in countries all over the world where they don't even have basic women's rights,
let alone trans rights, if there is such a thing. And so, you know, I mean, I could keep going on
and on and on. But people, oh, the Department of Education, which would be the Department
of Indoctrination, how to teach your kids to hate America. I mean, what our tax dollars are
being spent on is absolutely outrageous. Your laundry list is, you know, perfectly crafted
and it should it's an it's an easy rebuttal to the brainwashing that the average American
probably has, you know, which is, oh, how will we pay for our roads?
Well, if you peel back the onion, you'll find that that's not how the roads are paid for.
They're paid for with your property taxes and other high taxes that you pay.
And I'm just talking about the income tax. And it's a it's a screw job. And, you know,
the American people can decide to do something about it or not. I'm not going to be able to
change anything by myself, just to link in the chain and trying to know, tell tell people what
I know and leave it at that. Well, you know, you're right about the roads because the toll
roads, for example, are being run by Chinese companies. You know, you're actually paying.
Think about that roads that we built ourselves. We are paying Chinese companies for the permission
to use them. How ridiculous is this situation that we're in now? It's just absolutely outrageous.
I often say that our taxes are being used to our own throats, right?
Our taxes are the are the rope that they're hanging us with. And, you know, if people
are fine with that, you know, I don't know what to say. I'm not I mean, you know,
I got the upbringing that I have. I took an oath and I'm not working there anymore, but I feel like
I'm still bound by the oath that I took. And again, people can just look at my past and see
if there's any believability there. I pretty much put it all out there, you know, for people to see.
