After three years with no fridge, I finally got myself a fridge/freezer -Minimalist Van life

But guys I already opened the box because I was so excited. Bridge is here. How do we open it? Oh it's gonna look so good. It's gonna go right here if you don't know. This was my cooter. I need to modify it a little bit but oh look good. I like it. Gonna have to read the instructions. So don't look at my van right now. Oh my god good stuff everywhere. This is the 30 liter. Kind of wanted a bigger size but they didn't have in Canada warehouse. So I have the 30 liter. This is Booj Harvey who emailed me in fact a couple weeks ago and you know we get all those emails because we're on YouTube and people want to send us you know get the reviews and all that. So I accept the offer. I have like in fact more than one company reach out to me but I accept them. I just based on their website and what the fridge freezer look like I decide to go with that company. So I'm gonna install this. Joseph gonna install the fridge inside my van and all that maybe with the 12 volt or something. And we're gonna test it out. I'm gonna let you know is it good, what I like, what I don't like and all that good stuff. But for right now I'm gonna make some space for it right here and try it out. So Joseph gonna install a 12 volt plug here on my Echicol. So eventually when I'm the heater which I think might go underneath here. We're gonna build just to finish the thing and figure out exactly where everything goes. But currently we're just gonna put the 12 volt plug here so I can have the fridge hook up. And yeah so if you never saw the nice job and Joseph did. There you go. So I have two AGM batteries here and if I do want to have solar I could but I don't think I will. I do have a nice big one Jackery 1000 so with two solar panels. So if I need some extra battery extra I can have it. But yeah so I'm glad that everything nothing move which is great. Kelly don't go play in the Echicol. Now my fridge is working. I got cold food. So we just turned it on. I can like seriously I'm right beside I can actually hear it. And it's gonna be underneath the underneath the cover. That's cool. I have to check the setting now and see which setting are they with. Oh yeah nice to have that hardwired into your microphone. Yes guys you probably wonder what happened Amy. This is what happened when you try to do construction in your van. I had to run to get some lumber just this piece of two by four to kind of extend a little bit my platform. I think I need to modify it a little bit on this bench. Not so much but just a little bit. And while I was there the the grocery store. So I purchased a bunch of frozen spinach cherries thing like this. So we're gonna put that in the fridge. I'm not not 100% I don't think it's it's been almost like an hour now that it's plugged. It's close to be at the setup that I put it so that should work. But yeah it's crazy. A little bit of renovation and like everything's looking like a mess. I don't have any space anywhere. So yeah so for I was thinking about it for while I read on the website this fridge the 32 liter. I could put it like a half frozen half a fridge and or decide if I want a freezer or just fridge. I'm not 100% sure like how they work. I'm gonna have to read a little bit more guys. So I'm not sure if this one was because they were supposed to send me a bigger one. So yeah I'm not sure. They will separate the fridge freezer on each side. It's really cold right now on both sides. Let's put it like this for now and figure out later on how that works. Maybe I have to read a little bit more. Kitty it's my spot. It's my spot. Yeah you're gonna have to move. All right I think I'm almost done here. So I'm gonna explain what I did. I had to extend a little bit of this platform this bench because it is a little bit longer than the other one. So you can tell that's the space difference. So I'm gonna put a little board here like this in the front here. I'm gonna remove this. Those white panels are gonna go on my back here. I'm gonna make the same thing that the front. I'm gonna move you. There you go. I'm gonna make a shelf at the board like this. So those ones gonna go in the back and I'm gonna make. I'm gonna try to find some wood pallet that I got for free. So I'm gonna find more painted white and finish little extension here. But for right now that's gonna stay like this. So yeah I'm really happy that it opened this way. A lot of like a lot of fridge. So we have the stuff around with the box here. I got stuff on my hair. Oh it's the best guy. But yeah I'm really happy the way that it opened. So it's easy for my bench like this. A lot of them were opening the other way on the side here. So opening like this if you want. And yeah I really prefer this way. And I really like the look even you know it's inside the bench. We're not gonna really see it so often. But yeah I really like it. So far it's doing good and I'm really surprised like how quiet it is. Sorry I'm really surprised how quiet it is. I thought it would be a little bit like would make a little bit more noise. But obviously it's inside the bench and it's a little bit further from my bed. So it's even better. But yeah I'm really really happy. So I'm gonna clean. I'm gonna clean all my mess. I'm gonna do recycle tomorrow. Put a little bit of my tools away and all this. And what I'm gonna do tomorrow probably in 24 hours. In fact I'm gonna see you again. Or you guys gonna be like the second. But for me will be 24 hours. And we're just gonna see you know like my first impression. And I'm gonna go online to see if this size of the fridge I can be like a fridge a freezer or I have to decide between fridge or freezer. Either way it's not a big deal for me because I was already thinking that would be all freezer. At least for the summer because I really like to have like smoothie. And right now I got some frozen berries and I got a frozen spinach which I purchased already frozen ones. But eventually I'm gonna just buy some brand new some fresh one and just froze them myself. And froze like berries I'm gonna find for free this summer again. So you know I really like the freezer. That's the part that I wanted at least for the summer. And I can put I can make some ice and you know when I want cold water or cold drink. I can just you know what I mean. Like I can just put it like maybe in the freezer for an hour until it's cold. And you know what I mean. Or just if I want to have a cold beer or if I have some ice I can make some ice and you know cool down like a bottle of water and things like this. And I think that's gonna really help me because to be honest I was drinking a lot of like coke and pepsi. Yes I know it's bad. But I thought that you know because like right now I don't I didn't have any right now I have a freezer I have a fridge. But I didn't have a cooler. It was not worth it. So I was always craving like a cold drink when it's hot outside. You know middle of the day you just want a cold drink. And like when you go at the corner store or anything like a bottle of water it's like here in Canada two two dollars three dollars. And a little can of like coke or pepsi it's one dollar. Which is I don't understand that part. It's not just money just you know what I mean like it's just you grab this you get used to it it almost get addictive to it. So it's gonna be nice to have like cold water and have a cold smoothie which would be awesome on a really warm warm day. So yeah so I'm gonna see you in 24 hours and see my first impression and let you know a little bit more about the fridge. I'm gonna go online and check a couple things and let you know about that. But yeah see you in 24 hours. Hello everyone. All right it's been three days I think two yeah three days now that I have the fridge. So I'm gonna give you my first impression what I like what maybe I don't like so much and all that stuff. So first of all I'm gonna show you exactly where I put it. So I put it right here on this bench that was my cooter who was here before. So I only had to extend so you might see right here it's got a little it's missing a couple pieces I had to extend this. It's not gonna be a big deal I'm gonna have to find some wood pallets that I'm gonna paint white and I want to do the back too so I needed some wood pallets anyway. So it's not a big deal right here I'm probably gonna put a little piece or some ventilation. In the back here it's empty so it's got plenty of ventilation but I may just add a little bit more. So this is the fridge. So I was not sure when I got it if I could make a fridge a freezer. So I was supposed to get the 42 liter. Unfortunately they didn't have it here in Canada. So I went to the 30 liter which fit better in my van though which is great but it doesn't have the option of having half freezer half fridge. I have to decide which one I want if I want a fridge or if I want the freezer. So right now it's set up as a freezer. It kind of holds pretty good the temperature that it's been quite warm in the past couple days here. 32 degrees and all that. I think it went all the way to 35 yesterday and the temperature is pretty good. I only put like frozen fruit inside so if I was to put like frozen meat which I'm a vegan so I don't have to but if I was to do that I would probably just set up a little bit lower than what it is right now. Right now it's just on the freezing point. So I put like frozen berries, some ice that I made and some berries that I froze and I'm going to show you if that works. Let's move that out. So I made some ice two days ago. It is completely frozen. I already use it. What I do I just grab some ice and I put in a cup of water so I can have some cold water which has been so great. After three years yeah three years that I live in with no nobody like even a cooler because I was not putting ice in my cooler. Like I think I put ice like two or three times this summer and previous summer I got my freezer at the my cooler sorry at the end of the summer so I barely use it like maybe I put some ice once it was melting right away it was frustrating and I was like oh why spending two or three dollars for some ice if it's melting right away so right now I have some I made some ice which I can have some cold water cold drink. I have some frozen berries which are frozen they stay frozen uh frozen guys and I got some blackberries that I pick up myself and I froze them so uh that in fact is gonna go in this bag for my smoothie which has been great it's been frozen and I'm super happy so Booj RV uh give me a little discount for you guys so if you are looking for a fridge freezer bigger than mine smaller they do have a smaller option I think that you can go just on the weekend or like me a full time they do have a quite a big option there on the website so if you are looking for a fridge freezer they give you a 15 percent discount guys so I'm gonna leave the link for all of this if you are thinking about the fridge freezer and obviously this is my first impression on the unit and I will obviously let you know or I like it or if something doesn't work I'm gonna let you know as the time goes on but right now I really enjoy it it's been great it's been keeping things frozen which is what's a freezer supposed to do so I hope you enjoyed this little review of the fridge and freezer if you have any questions let me know I'm gonna try to help you with this and I will see you soon
