AI GeneratedThe speaker shares a variety of \"lazy\" cleaning shortcuts and lifestyle hacks designed to maintain a tidy home with minimal effort. The tips range from organizational strategies and time-management techniques to the use of specific cleaning tools and laundry shortcuts, all aimed at reducing the time and energy spent on household chores.
I mean, I love a clean house.
Do I love cleaning my house?
Absolutely not.
And so over the years,
I've perfected the art of doing the bare minimum.
My house is clean,
and it kind of looks like I have my wife together.
So today I'm sharing my personal favorite,
lazy cleaning tricks,
because if there's a choice between working harder
and slightly questionable shortcuts,
I'll take the shortcuts every time.
All right, first up is one of my favorites.
I like to call it the clutter sweep,
or if I'm feeling crazy, the basket blitz.
So this is a really, really good one.
You're gonna take a basket.
I like to do a laundry basket.
It could be a bin, a box, anything big.
And you're just gonna take it around your entire house.
And any clutter you see,
it doesn't matter what it is.
It doesn't matter whose it is.
You just put it in the basket.
You go everywhere and you just throw stuff in, okay?
And then this is where your whole family comes in
and it's not gonna take long.
They're not gonna hate it.
It's gonna be fine.
Put it in the middle of the floor.
And everybody just grabs what is theirs
and they run and quickly put it away.
This takes, I kid you not, like less than a minute.
It's insane how well this works.
And sometimes your house isn't actually dirty.
It's really just the clutter
that's making it feel not clean.
Now, sometimes when you're doing said clutter sweep
or basket blitz, you will come across things
that should just be donated.
Like you know you don't need them anymore.
You should just always have a big bin,
like an actual dedicated spot where you put donations.
I like to have this big, ugly plastic bin
hidden in my coat closet.
I will just throw stuff in there at any time of the day
or when I'm doing the basket blitz,
I'll just put stuff in there that I know
I want to be donated.
And when that basket or bin is full,
I'll just put it back in the back of my car
and I'll take it to Goodwill or Salvation Army or wherever.
Now, speaking of clutter,
I wanted to show you my ridiculous area of supplements.
Now, I love supplements.
However, I don't take this many.
No one should be taking this many.
I have been working on reducing and dwindling down
and narrowing down what I think truly are the essentials.
So I've said it before, but I'm gonna say it again.
I think everyone should be taking a probiotic.
So this is Ritual's Synbiotic
and it's my all-time favorite
because it is a prebiotic, a probiotic, and a postbiotic.
So it's full spectrum and it's a delayed release capsule.
There's so many on the market that maybe you're taking
or maybe you have in the past
where it just reaches your stomach and then it goes away.
It's stupid.
It's a complete waste of money.
This actually reaches your gut
where the good bacteria can survive and thrive and multiply.
And since we're talking about lazy,
this is about as lazy as you can get
because this is shelf stable,
meaning you don't have to keep it in the refrigerator.
I keep it on my nightstand so I visually see it every day.
You just take one capsule per day.
It could be in the morning, it could be at night.
Whenever you see it, just take one.
It's like a nice, refreshing, minty capsule.
And again, it reaches your gut
and you just feel so much better.
You're more regular, everything works better.
So another reason I wanted to put this in
this specific video is because right now
they're having a reset sale,
meaning you could actually get this for 40% off.
I'll put a QR code, the link down below.
My code, SheaWhitney, will actually give you 40% off
right now until though September 8th.
If you're watching this after September 8th,
it'll just go back to like their normal deal
if I work with them, which is 25% off,
which is still really, really good.
I'm just saying, if you're interested in this,
you should jump on it while it's 40% off.
All right, moving along.
I'm about to blow your mind with the 10 Minute Tidy
and it's not what you're thinking.
And I also just want to take credit
for inventing the 10 Minute Tidy.
My roommate and I, back in college,
we came up with the 10 Minute Tidy to clean our dorm room.
We would set a timer for 10 minutes.
We would clean our dorm as fast as we possibly could.
And then every time we would be shocked
that our dorm was completely clean,
tidy, spotless in only 10 minutes.
So fast forward, I start a YouTube channel
and I introduce to my audience
the concept of the 10 Minute Tidy.
And now I see it all over YouTube, which is awesome.
I'm glad everyone's trying it out.
But here's where I'm going to blow your mind.
If you simply set a timer every day for 10 minutes,
and the concept is, again, you set a timer for 10 minutes,
you go around and you clean as fast as you possibly can.
It's like a little game and it's not that bad
because you know you only have to do it for 10 minutes.
And I would say stick to kind of like one area
just so you're not like actually running
back and forth through the house.
But after 10 minutes, you'll be genuinely shocked
at how much you actually accomplished in only 10 minutes.
Now here's where your mind will be blown.
If you do this every single day for a month,
10 minutes a day, that equals five hours, five hours.
Do you realize how much can be done in five hours?
A lot.
So just putting that into perspective,
just commit to doing this once a day, every day.
Okay, the next lazy trick is simply using wipes.
Now, I have been using these Biome wipes lately.
They're completely non-toxic, they're plant-based.
They come in like a really pretty attractive container
that you could either leave out on your counter
or you can put it under your bathroom sink or wherever.
But anytime you're in the bathroom or the kitchen,
you could just like grab a wipe
and simply just like start wiping down the surfaces.
And it just kind of cuts down on your bathroom
or really anywhere looking gross.
So I try to do this at least a few times a week.
But with that said, you could just get some baby wipes.
Just get these Huggy baby wipes.
Just have them in different rooms like hidden
and just grab a wipe every now and then and wipe it down.
It cuts down on cleaning significantly.
Also though, while we're in the bathroom,
this is definitely like a lazy shortcut.
I now buy the flushable, disposable toilet bowl
cleaning things.
It comes with like a handle and then these flushable things,
which they actually are flushable.
Like I've tested them out.
They disintegrate pretty quickly like toilet paper.
It comes with the things and you just attach it
to the handle and then go to town cleaning the toilet.
This is far less gross because those brushes
that we all have, I mean, it's getting gross.
You have to like, you know what I mean?
And then you like try to rinse the brush off
but then it goes back into the carrier
and you know there's poo particles on there.
Yes, you do.
It's just not fun.
I hate it.
So these disposable, just like flushable ones,
it works really well.
You just flush it and then that is it.
It's just so much easier and less gross.
Let's switch gears here.
We need to talk about laundry
because if we really think about it,
sometimes laundry is like the bulk
of the household responsibility.
Like it is so time consuming.
And if there's any shortcut out there,
I'm going to take it now.
Some of this, you're gonna roll your eyes.
You're gonna be like, I would never do that.
And that's fine.
You don't have to do it.
I'm gonna do it.
Anytime I'm wearing a shirt or a pair of pants or whatever,
I assess if I actually have to wash it.
Could I just put it back in my closet and re-wear it?
A lot of times the answer is yes.
If we just go to church and I'm there for two hours max,
it's not dirty.
I'm hanging that thing back up.
Same with the kids.
If we go out to dinner for a couple hours, I'm sorry.
They're putting it back in the closet and re-wearing it.
Now, obviously this is not going to work for everyone.
Like if you profusely sweat
or you feel like you just stink, like yes,
you must wash your clothes probably a lot.
I'm just saying it's something to consider.
Also bath towels.
I reuse my bath towels three, four, five times
before I'm putting them in the laundry.
But then when I actually do laundry,
this is also where many of you are going to be like,
oh my gosh, I would never do this.
And this is like a recent change.
I'm starting to just do laundry by the person,
not the type of load.
And it's been fine.
Like I will grab Paxton, my oldest son's clothes,
and I will wash everything.
That way, when it's time to put it away,
everything goes back in the same room, the same spot.
It's not like sorting
and just like all of this extra time spent.
Yes, I have to use cold water.
I'm not like using hot water to mix the colors.
I've never had an issue thus far.
Same goes with my clothes, Josh's clothes.
It's just way easier to do it by person
versus type of load.
All right, so another lazy trick
is just having big baskets, but like big baskets.
And they're kind of hard to find sometimes.
They need to be big enough to have in your living room,
maybe your bedroom,
anywhere where you can just throw in the necessities.
So like in my living room,
I have this big basket where I just throw in
all of the blankets.
I don't have to fold them.
There's no thinking required.
It's attractive.
It looks tidy and clean, but it saves me time.
And then in my bedroom,
I've got an even bigger basket where I throw my bed pillows.
You know, they're just the decorative pillows
that otherwise would just lay on the floor
while I'm not using them.
This allows them to have a specific spot out of the way.
And again, it looks much more decorative and attractive.
Now the next lazy tricks, I'm gonna be honest,
just involve money.
Like you're gonna have to invest in this.
It's annoying, but oh my gosh, is it worth it?
Okay, so I'm talking like the robot vacuum.
Yes.
They even have like the self-cleaning ones now
where it mops and vacuums
and then it cleans it all up for you.
You don't have to do anything.
So it's expensive, but it's a lifesaver.
I also love the freaking robot litter boxes.
Oh my gosh.
I don't have to even freaking clean a litter box anymore.
So good.
They have improved the versions more and more and more.
So now I'm to the point where like, yes,
you can invest in one, they're so good.
Oh, back to vacuums though.
If you don't want a robot one,
I love the Tineco wet dry vacuum
where it just does everything at the same time.
Like it's going to suck up all of the crumbs
and the dirt and everything while also mopping your floors.
Like it just does everything.
It's amazing.
And it's shocking like what it will pull off of your floors.
So again, you're just like cutting your cleaning time
by 50% or more.
And then the good old electric spin scrubber.
With the extension handle, okay?
This is going to do the elbow grease for you.
It's going to work for you.
Everyone should invest in this.
You can use it throughout your whole house,
especially the grout, like weird spots.
And then again, with the handle,
it can reach spots like in your shower that's harder.
It's just doing the work for you.
And that is the epitome of lazy.
So those are my personal lazy tricks.
Maybe you have better ones.
If you do, you should let me know down below.
Like genuinely, please let me know your secrets.
But don't forget about Ritual's reset sale
where you can get 40% off your first order.
I'll have them linked down below along with my promo code.
But again, it's only 40% until September 8th
and then it'll switch to 25% off.
But I'll see you in this video next.
I share nine little luxuries that really upgrade my life.
So I'll see you over there.
