Let’s get ready for fall together! 🍂 In this autumn reset, I’ll be planning my fall reading list and going book shopping, doing a wardrobe refresh / fall style makeover, and some bullet journaling and Filofax planning. I’ll also make some homemade Salted Maple Pecan syrup (recipe link below), show you my favorite vintage fall cookbooks, and do some cozy self care. I hope you enjoy this video—thank you for being here!!
The speaker embraces autumn as a \"life reset,\" focusing on cozy rituals, nostalgic style, and personal organization. The content covers a wardrobe refresh, a curated reading list, and culinary inspirations, while also touching on health journeys, medical anxiety, and a detailed transition to a new Filofax planning system to manage creativity and daily life.
We've had some cooler weather this week and the leaves on the trees are just starting
to change.
And it's been really fun when I go for my walks, I'll look for all these early signs
of fall.
We had a really cold morning today as well.
So just really enjoying this cooler weather.
It's probably not going to last, sometimes we'll get a heatwave in the beginning of
September.
But I'm just going to pretend we're having cool weather from here on out.
We had such a great autumn last year.
I got to spend a lot of time outside in nature.
We had an autumn picnic.
We went on a mini vacation to stay at a cabin in the woods and see the leaves change.
I did a lot of crafts and I hosted a gothic vampire dinner party.
That was probably the highlight for me last year.
This is just my favorite time of year and I can't wait to spend it with you.
I want to start getting ready by doing a little bit of a life reset.
Getting everything in order, getting myself ready before we go into this season.
I remember being a kid, even in college, and back to school season was always my favorite
time of year.
There was just something about picking out my outfits and getting all my journals and
planners in order and that fresh start feeling of back to school.
I'm hoping to recreate that now, even though I'm not in school anymore.
I want to do that this week and take you along with me.
The first place I want to get started is with my wardrobe.
I want to do a fall capsule wardrobe and I always like to do a bit of a style refresh
around this time of year.
Let's head upstairs and get started.
I decided to hang up my little crescent moon wreath.
I think I made this one or two years ago.
I shared it in a video, but it's so cute for fall and I thought it would look really
nice in my closet.
And then on the other side of me, I hung up some of my scarves and my little fingerless
gloves and I switched out my summer clothes for fall.
So last week I went thrifting and I also ordered a few pieces online secondhand and I thought
we could put together a few outfits and I could kind of plan ahead what I'm going to
wear this fall.
Lately I feel like twee and grunge style have really been making a comeback and that's very
exciting for me because that was what was trendy when I was in high school.
So it's very fun and nostalgic.
And when I was looking for clothes, I kept trying to find pieces that reminded me of
what was popular in that time.
And then I'm going to try to restyle them and really make them my own.
I got this denim mini dress.
I thought this was so cute.
It has kind of 60s vibes, especially with these shoes that I'm wearing it with.
And I feel like this is something that is really versatile and easy to style in different
ways.
So I made this poncho last fall and I feel like this is really going to be cute layered
on top.
And I'm going to try to find some multicolored patterned tights to go with it.
I feel like that would really complete the look.
I also love how this looks under a trench coat.
That's something I've really been trying to think about whenever I get new pieces for
my wardrobe.
I just want to make sure that they're versatile enough that I can wear them a few different
ways so I can really get my use out of my clothing.
And when I see this whole outfit, I feel like it really needs a scarf.
And I've been wanting to make a crochet granny square scarf.
I have the yarn picked out and everything, but I want to try to work on that this week.
I also want to make a DIY button headband.
I have all the supplies for it.
It's super simple to make.
We're basically just going to glue buttons onto an old headband, but I thought this could
be super cute with this outfit, especially with a 60s vibe.
I also love this oversized star cardigan.
I feel like it has that 90s grunge look.
I think a black skirt and some black tights might look better than this outfit, but I
love it with a skirt.
There's something about that oversized sweater with a short skirt look that is super cute.
Okay, this bag and these fingerless gloves.
I know I said this was 90s, but I feel like with the bag and the fingerless gloves, I'm
being brought right back to my childhood and like the early 2000s, early 2010s.
I love it so much.
It's very nostalgic for me.
Okay, so I think we've got a few good outfits put together.
Now I want to start working on my little DIY button headband and see if I can make some
progress on my crochet scarf.
To make the headband, I'm using fabric glue to attach buttons onto a headband.
You can use a glue gun as well, you just want to make sure that whatever glue you use dries
a little bit stretchy because you're going to have to stretch the headband a bit to get
it on your head and you don't want the buttons to pop off.
I was going for a fall color palette, so I used wooden buttons as well as some red, orange,
and light green ones.
So this has been drying all night and it looks so cute on.
Again, very 60s vibes, I feel like especially with the wider headband and with all the buttons,
I also feel like it's giving Coraline a little bit, which I love.
So this morning I wanted to head out to the bookstore.
My patrons and I put together a big fall reading list.
It's something we like to do every year and there are a few books from that list that
I want to go and pick up.
If any of you are interested also, you can go and download it for free.
I've linked it below in my description, but I'm going to take you with me to the bookstore
and see what we can find.
It's all the times when my drink goes untaught.
Places of every mistake that I ever did make.
When you're stuffing it down in my socks, you start getting emotions that we glow.
Okay, I'm back with a big stack of books.
The first one I want to show you is Rewitched by Lucy Jane Wood.
This was a favorite over on Patreon.
We had a couple people suggest this one for fall.
And it's a cozy fantasy story about a witch who works at a bookshop.
She's very burned out and she's lost touch with her magic.
And when she turns 30, her coven tells her that she has only the month of October to
prove herself as a witch or she could lose her magic forever.
So it's a story about her rediscovering her magic and it's supposed to be about friendship.
I think there is a little bit of romance in this one as well.
I've heard a lot of people say that if you liked The Secret Society of Irregular Witches,
which I read a couple years ago and loved, you will also like this book.
The next book on my list is First Frost by Sarah Addison Allen.
They didn't have it at the bookstore today, but I'm going to go and pick it up next week.
But it's a sequel to Garden Spells, which I read over the summer.
I loved the book so much and I didn't know there was another one in the series until
you guys told me.
And this one is set in the fall, so it's going to be perfect timing to read it.
Next, I have The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.
And this book is about a magical circus that appears during the night.
And behind the scenes, there are these two magicians who are running everything.
And since childhood, they've been competing against each other.
Only one of them can win in this magical competition, but they end up falling in love
and it creates a domino effect that puts them and everyone else involved in the circus in danger.
This is supposed to be very dark and atmospheric.
Everyone says it's a really beautiful setting.
There are these big circus tents and bonfires and lots of magic.
Next up, I have Wild Reverence by Rebecca Ross.
This one is about a young goddess who has this magical ability to carry letters and messages
between different worlds.
Her realm is ruled by gods who are ruthless and fighting for power.
And there's also an immortal who has always dreamed of her but never met her in real life.
And then they finally end up crossing paths.
This is supposed to be kind of a star-crossed romance fantasy story.
It has a lot of really good reviews online.
And when I took it home, I looked behind the book jacket and this is the most gorgeous
cover I think I've ever seen on a book.
It's so pretty.
Even the inside, look at that.
It's so nice.
I think I'm going to end up keeping this out on display on my bookshelves.
This one immediately caught my eye when I walked into the bookstore.
It's Steelborn by Taylor J. LaRue.
And this was a new release.
I think it came out at the beginning of August.
It's supposed to be enemies to lovers fantasy romance with a lot of action and adventure.
It's set in a world where magic is outlawed and a revolution is starting to happen.
And a thief has to team up with a cursed immortal warrior and they go on this adventure together.
So again, enemies to lovers.
I think it's going to be a lot of fun to read.
I also wanted to mention The Knave and The Moon.
I don't have a physical copy yet because it's not out, but I think it comes out on September 1st.
And this is a sequel to The Night in the Moth by Rachel Gillig.
I read it last year and I loved the world so much.
It's like a gothic medieval fantasy book.
And I really loved the characters.
I breezed right through it.
So I'm really excited to read the sequel.
And then finally for a scary read, which I'm probably going to pick up closer to Halloween,
I have The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson.
I saw the show, The Haunting of Hill House,
and I think it's supposed to be pretty different from the book,
but it's one of my absolute favorite shows.
I just love it so much.
And I've heard really good things about the book as well.
It's about a small group of people who go to this notorious haunted house
to investigate paranormal activity.
And as they're there, creepy things start happening.
It keeps getting scarier and scarier.
And you don't know how much is psychological versus what is actually happening in real life,
which I think is kind of the through line to The Haunting of Hill House show.
So I think this one is going to be lots of fun, especially around Halloween.
It's really hard to choose which one to start with.
I feel very drawn to Wild Reverence.
It might just be my emotional attachment to the cover.
But I also think Rewitched is going to be a really nice, warm, cozy comfort read,
which I'm definitely craving this week.
So I think I will start with this one.
I knew I wanted to make a coffee syrup for this fall,
but I wanted to challenge myself to do something not pumpkin this time.
So I've been working on a salted maple pecan flavor for a while,
and I'm very proud of this.
It turned out so good.
And I'm going to be drinking this in my coffee for the next couple weeks.
Since we're in the kitchen, I thought I could show you one of my hyper fixations
lately, which has been collecting older cookbooks from the 90s and early 2000s.
These have such beautiful photos.
I feel like there is something about the cookbooks in that era.
The photography was super pretty and colorful,
and all the recipes and ideas are really whimsical.
I'm pretty sure I showed you guys this one when I went thrifting in my last video,
but this one is called Holiday Pumpkins.
It's all about how to use pumpkins in different recipes,
indoor and outdoor decor, and it has so many adorable craft ideas.
This is the William Sonoma Autumn Cookbook.
I grew up with my mom collecting these, so they're very nostalgic for me.
This one is so beautiful, and the recipes are what I would call creative comfort food.
Lots of classic fall flavors that are presented in some really unique ways.
This one is called Halloween Bewitching Treats, Eats, Costumes, and Decorations.
So the whole idea for this book is,
it's basically about how to throw a really great Halloween party.
There are really fun ideas for crafts and activities, recipes, and even costumes.
And finally, I had to save the best for last.
So this is Autumn by Susan Branch.
This was published in 2004.
Everything in the book is illustrated and written by Susan Branch,
and it's just a beautiful book.
You can tell there was so much love and care that went into creating this.
There are ideas for everything you could think of.
It's like a complete guide to how to have a wonderful autumn.
Something I love doing to get ready for fall is,
I will flip through all my cookbooks and bookmark recipes I want to try later on in the season.
So I'm going to do that for a little while, and I'll catch up with you later.
I am very much in need of a good self-care night.
It's been a pretty stressful summer.
At the beginning of this year, actually,
I started going to the doctor to try to work on some health issues and figure things out.
On one hand, it's been really good because I'm finally getting things addressed
that I haven't for a very long time.
But on the other hand, it has been pretty draining
just trying to get to the bottom of everything that's been going on.
Last year, Alex and I made it a goal to try to save money
so that we could get better health insurance this year.
And it had been years since I actually went to the doctor for a proper checkup.
I have a lot of medical anxiety because I had a pretty traumatic medical experience
in my early 20s.
Long story short, I had an eye infection,
and I was going to a doctor at the time who was not good.
And he kept telling me to wait.
He didn't want me to go on antibiotics.
And so I ended up in the hospital.
It was very, very scary and very traumatic experience.
And since then, I have really avoided going to the doctor because I've been afraid.
I get really high anxiety when I go into the doctor's office,
and my heart starts racing.
I feel kind of panicked.
So I have been trying to just get through it a bit this year
and have that exposure therapy going in.
And the good news is my doctor now is wonderful.
I love her so much.
She really listens to me and believes me when I'm telling her something is going on.
I've had so many experiences in the past where I've tried to talk to doctors,
and they just don't really take my concerns seriously.
And I feel like this is the first time I've had a doctor
who is really working with me to figure things out
and just get me in the best health possible.
We're still not sure exactly what's going on,
but we keep running tests and trying different things.
And I have been feeling a lot better.
One thing that has been happening for me each month
is the few days leading up to my cycle,
I will really struggle with low energy.
So we're just making sure that we're checking off all the boxes
for things that could potentially be wrong with that.
But if I have any health updates, I'll share them with you.
I've been a little nervous to talk about this
because sometimes when I've shared health things in the past,
I've gotten unsolicited advice from people.
And I know that they mean well,
but sometimes they just don't really understand
the full picture of what's going on.
But I just wanted to let you all know
that that's been going on behind the scenes this year.
We also had kind of a stressful summer.
We had a lot of ups and downs this year as well.
And I'm just really looking forward to starting off this autumn.
I feel like it's going to feel like a fresh start for me,
which will be really good.
With everything going on this year,
one of the biggest, most helpful things for me
has been making time for self-care
in the form of taking breaks, going to bed early,
and trying to say no and set boundaries with things
where I am feeling overwhelmed.
Sometimes it's the things that I can't film and share
that really help me feel the best.
But with all that being said,
something that's really been helping me feel better
is trying to make my evening shower or bath routine
more of a ritual.
So what I've been doing
is I will turn off the lights in the bathroom
and I have this little lamp that I use in the shower instead.
And it's kind of like a form of sensory deprivation.
It's nice and dark.
And there's this like nice, soothing, warm light.
And I also have really been enjoying
using products that smell really good.
So I treated myself to a couple of
thaw bath and shower products and they smell amazing.
This is probably my favorite body wash.
It's Good Karma from Lush
and it's patchouli and orange oil scented.
It's wonderful.
It's very warm and earthy.
And I don't know what kind of science is behind this,
but I swear when I use this on my armpits,
they don't smell the next day.
Don't know what that is,
but it's been getting me through the summer
without being stinky.
And I also really love this one.
This is new for the fall.
It's cinnamon spiced latte.
It's cinnamon and ginger scented.
And it also has this really nice foamy lather.
So it's very luxurious.
I got this soap from a cute little soap shop
near me last year and it smells really good,
but I don't like using it
because I'm very precious about it.
It's so pretty.
And maybe I'll use it up a little more this fall,
but probably knowing me,
it's going to last me into next year
or even the year after.
This is not a fall product,
but it's a deep conditioner
and I love this in my hair.
It's the Shea Moisture Intensive Hydration Hair Mask.
It's especially nice for the colder weather.
I feel like I get more breakage
as we go into the fall and winter.
So I'll definitely be using this a lot.
Two different body scrubs.
This one is Sticky Dates
and it has a really sweet, warm scent.
It's almost like maple syrup.
This is Pumpkin Body Scrub from Trader Joe's.
This is leftover from last fall.
It has brown sugar
and it smells like a pumpkin spice latte.
It's still a little too warm outside for baths.
I usually prefer taking baths in the colder weather,
but I saved these for once it starts to get chilly.
This one smells like pumpkin spice.
It's really good.
And this one is really fun.
It's a swizzle stick, I think is what it's called.
So it smells like apple cinnamon
and you can just make a bath
and then you swirl it in the bath like that
instead of just dropping it in.
So I thought this would be really fun to use
later on in the season.
I want to make some progress on my crochet scarf tonight,
but I want to do one of my sensory deprivation showers first
and try to get nice and cozy.
Okay, pajamas are on, shower's done.
I'm going to crochet for a little while.
I made some progress on the scarf the other day.
I have one, two, three, four granny squares done
and I know I'm going to have to make a lot more
for this to be a full scarf.
I think I'm going to need at least 16 squares,
if not closer to 20.
And the plan is I'm going to just sew them together
and then add a little border around the edges,
maybe go in with some fringe.
It's going to be very cute.
I am using the Caron Macchiato Cakes in the color Lovely.
I stocked up on this last year
and I've been trying to not buy any new yarn
before I go through my current stash.
So this is one I had already, but I really love this color.
I feel like especially with my brown coat,
this is going to be super pretty.
I was in a bit of a crochet slump over the summer,
which hasn't happened to me for the past few years
since I started.
I just felt like every project I did,
I couldn't finish it.
I wasn't happy with how it was turning out
and I had a few different work in progress projects.
And for me, what fixed my crochet burnout
was I just gave up on the projects
that weren't bringing me joy anymore.
And I frogged everything.
It was a little sad to feel like I wasted some time,
but honestly, crochet for me is just a hobby.
It's something that's supposed to be fun.
And it was getting to this point
where I had all these projects started
that I wasn't excited about anymore.
And I just felt like there was no point
in forcing myself to finish them.
I like granny square projects like this
because they're very easy to break down.
It's not like I have to remember a pattern
and work on it over a long period of time.
I just have all my simple granny squares.
I make the same thing over and over again.
And then at the end, I sew everything together.
I started rewitched the other night.
It's so good so far.
It's very cozy, very fall vibes.
I didn't get super far,
but I kind of got introduced to the main character
and the setting is really cute.
So I'm excited to keep reading that one tonight.
But for now, I want to watch a show.
So I've been hooked on Pretty Little Liars
and I think I'm on season five now.
I have to check and confirm.
It's funny because it has the same thing
Vampire Diaries has where the plot
is a little bit out there at times.
It's a little bit silly,
but it's so much fun for me to watch.
It is very nostalgic for me.
It reminds me of my teens in a really comforting way.
And I've been really enjoying Pretty Little Liars,
but I need to find another show to watch after this one
because I know I'm going to be sad when it's over.
If I have to, I'm just going to re-watch
all of Vampire Diaries
because that is my favorite show.
I love to watch it each fall,
but there are a lot of episodes in Vampire Diaries.
Alex and I watched The Rooster over the summer.
That show is so comforting and cozy
and it has very nice fall vibes in my opinion.
It takes place mostly on a college campus
and it's a very heartwarming story.
I'll probably put together a summary
of some of my favorite fall shows
and share that in a more dedicated video.
But that one, it was a really fun one to watch
if any of you are looking for a good fall comfort show.
And I'm pretty sure it came out this year, so it's new.
That was recommended to me from one of my patrons
and I loved it.
It's starring Steve Carell, so it's super funny.
Oh, and one thing I love about Pretty Little Liars
is the fashion, especially in the first couple of seasons.
I just feel like some of those outfits are so good.
They take me right back to that time
when the show was coming out
and they were so in and trendy
and they were a lot of fun.
Again, that twee, almost grungy style
I was talking about earlier in this video,
I feel like all the girls have different fashion
and they're styling them in different ways,
which is really fun to see also.
I feel like my style then and now
is probably closest to Aria's.
I don't know if I'm like Aria in terms of personality.
I feel like I might be a little bit of a Hannah
mixed with Spencer maybe
because I'm definitely a nerd like Spencer,
but with Hannah, I just, I love her character.
So I think I want to relate to her.
I feel like she's very loyal and very kind,
but I'm curious if any of you also watch the show
and if you do, who you feel you're the most similar to,
either in terms of fashion or personality.
Okay, I'm gonna watch for a while
and see if I can finish some more granny squares.
I also want to read more of Rewitched
before I go to bed.
It's a little early,
but I'm gonna try to go to bed early tonight
and really get a good night's rest.
We put together a fall bingo board over on Patreon
and I'll leave the link for it below
in case you want to go and download it,
but I've really been enjoying seasonal bingo boards.
Instead of bucket lists,
I just feel like they're a little more interactive
and I really like going through
whenever I check off an activity
and I'll put a little sticker on it.
I realized I already did a couple things on my board.
I made a fall reading list
and I visited a bookstore this week.
So I have my little stickers.
I'm gonna go in and add them to my board.
So I wanted to give you a little update
on my Filofax and planning system.
I've been using this Filofax pocket as my wallet
and like a mini planner organizer
that I take with me wherever I go.
I keep it in my bag
and I've had this for a couple of years now.
I love it so much.
I use it all the time,
but it's really starting to wear out.
So a couple months ago,
Alex surprised me with a new Filofax
and it's so cute.
Let me show you what it looks like.
This is called the Malden
and it's in this beautiful burgundy color.
It's a lot higher quality.
So I'm hoping this will last me many more years.
And I wanted to wait until this time of year
to switch everything over into this new binder
and do a little bit of a reset of my Filofax.
Over the summer,
I also switched over to a Rings planner system
for all my daily and weekly planning.
So before this,
I was using a Rifle Paper Company planner.
I loved it.
No complaints whatsoever.
The only thing I was struggling with
is I'm very disorganized
when it comes to my projects.
I have a lot of different ideas
that I keep in many different notebooks
and it starts to get very overwhelming for me.
And then separately,
I also have my planner
and I thought it might work
to try to consolidate everything into one place
where I have all of my work-related planning
and ideas in one single binder.
So that's what I decided to do with this one.
This is a really cheap binder.
I can't remember the name of the brand,
but it's not a Filofax.
I just wanted to test it out for a few months
and see if I would like it.
And I love this system so much more.
I use this one as my wallet
and as like an on-the-go note-taking system.
I write all of my wishlists,
any to-do lists,
shopping lists,
all of that stuff in this one.
I also like it for big picture kind of notes,
like my morning routine
or if I have any big goals for the year,
I'll just write everything down in that one.
And then this one is more of my day-to-day planner
that I use for all of my projects.
This one is the one I take with me
wherever I go and keep it in my bag.
And then this one lives right here
at my desk and stays at home.
I'll keep you updated on how this works out for me.
And if I really like it,
I'm going to take some time this year
to really set this up properly
and make it look a little cuter.
This notebook is where I keep all of my vision boards
and my yearly goals.
I'll also do some monthly
and like seasonal planning in here.
But my goal for this one
is to make it very inspirational.
So that's why I try to put a lot of time
into decorating it,
making it super cute.
And it's become kind of a keepsake for me
where I can look back and see what my goals were
and how all my vision boards
have progressed over the years.
So that's my current planning setup.
I love this stuff so much.
So let me know if you ever want me
to do a dedicated video
where I go more into detail on everything.
Like I said, I do struggle a lot to be organized.
And for that reason,
I feel like whenever I do find something
that works for me,
I love sharing it with other people
in case it does help anyone else.
But for now, I want to switch this one
over into my new Malden.
I cannot get over the color.
I love this so much already.
I've gotten a lot of inspiration for this setup
from the creator Life With Hope.
She's wonderful.
She makes a lot of videos on planning
and how she uses her Filofax.
And I first got the idea to add jewelry
and charms to my Filofax from her.
So definitely go check out her videos.
In terms of the decor,
I don't think I'm going to change much
because I'm really happy with how this looks.
And I think it's going to look even better
in my burgundy planner.
There's something about starting a new planner.
It's just the best feeling in the world.
Again, that back to school, fresh start feeling.
This one is set up a little differently
from my old one.
I love that it has a little zipper pouch here
for coins.
I'm probably going to use it for stickers
and other things instead.
And it has more pockets along the side,
which I actually think will be more functional for me.
I do keep all my credit cards in here
and I plan to do the same on this one as well,
but I think I'll just stick them in this way.
One of my favorite things about this one
is it has a big pocket here
that you can use for cash,
but I'll probably use it for stickers,
notes, receipts, anything like that.
This is just an index card
with some washi tape on it,
and I use it to store my sticky notes.
So I'm just going to add a few more
because I'm running low on these.
These are great if I ever need to bookmark
anything in my file of facts.
I like to keep all my extra papers in the back
and have a card here just to protect them
because I open and close this a lot.
Sometimes the papers can get a little bit
of wear and tear in the back
if I don't have a card here.
I also like keeping this divider in the front
and then I like to have a section for my notes.
I keep all my to-do lists in here.
I've really been enjoying keeping
my routines written out in here.
So I have my morning routine,
evening routine,
Sunday reset,
and my perfect cozy night in.
I just feel like it's very inspiring
to have all my ideal routines written out.
This section is what I use for keeping track of
fun projects and hobbies,
books, movies, all that stuff.
And then in the back I have lists
that I like to use when I'm out of the house.
Things like my favorite meals
if I decide to stop at the grocery store
and I don't know what to pick up.
I also have an old grocery list in here
but I'm going to clear out all these old notes
and make room for new ones.
I also want to add a couple new lists to this section
so I want to make one for fall recipes.
That way when I'm out,
if I am at the grocery store,
I can remember to get things for those.
And I also have been meaning to make a gift ideas list
so I'm going to add those in.
I'm going to fill this out off camera
because we don't want anyone's surprises getting ruined
but I like having gift list ideas
whenever I think of something.
That way I can add it and not forget.
That'll be especially useful
as we get closer to the holidays.
I also have to go in and update my books to read list.
I'm going to keep my old Filofax
and use it to organize old notes
that I'm moving out of this planner.
It's also great for storing dividers
and new blank sheets.
I have a couple of these plastic binders
that I already use for that
but as you can tell,
I am running out of space in this one
so it'll be nice to be able to repurpose this.
I thrifted this watch a while ago.
I never got a new battery for it.
I need to do that so it can actually run
but I really love it as a decoration for my planner.
I'm just going to take this
and try to hook it right through this loop in the zipper.
There we go.
And I'll loop this one through the bottom ring.
That's so cute.
That way, that's so nice.
That one there.
I also really like the rulers
that they give you with the Filofax
because I use it to create straight lines
if I'm ever needing to write a divided list
or anything like that.
So I'll keep this in the back.
I have to add in my little cat pen.
These have been so nice.
They are from a Japanese company
and they're super fine when they write
so they're really nice for a pocket Filofax
where you have to write really small.
I'm just going to pop a couple of stickers in here for now.
I also love these big paper clips
as bookmarks in my Filofax
so I'm going to add those in here as well
just in case I need some extras.
I'm having a hard time figuring out
what to do with this mini tarot card
but I love it so much
and I really want to keep it out on display.
I think I'm just going to stick a big paper clip right here
and have it attached on top of this little panel.
I'm not sure how long it'll stay there
because I want to make sure that this zipper is functional
even with this paper clip here.
But we'll start out like this
and I'll report back and let you know
how my Filofax planning is going
and if I change anything with the setup.
But this is what it's looking like right now.
I love the burgundy color.
I think this is going to be so nice as we go into the fall.
We've really been enjoying our living room
since we did the makeover
and I'm glad we got it done before the start of fall
just because we spend more time indoors.
We also spend a lot of time here in the living room
and this couch has been so much more comfortable for us.
We also took some time to really set up our TV station
and it's going to be great for watching all our shows and movies
going into cozy season.
Alex has it all set up for his games
so it's going to be perfect.
Also, I got so many comments on that video
warning me about fire safety with putting candles on my bookshelf
so these must look very realistic.
These are actually electric LED candles
and they turn on and off with this little remote.
I love them so much so don't worry
if you are seeing any candles on my bookshelves ever.
I'm always very careful with fire safety
and these have been wonderful
because I don't have to go in
and physically turn them on and off every time
and they're also rechargeable
so it's going to be a lot better
than having to change out the batteries.
Anyway, I keep thinking about how this time of year
feels more like the new year to me
than the actual new year sometimes.
I just associate it with a fresh start.
I'm sure like I said before
it's from that association with back to school
but I love looking at September
as almost the start of a new year.
I get new ideas, I like to set new goals
and it feels really good to look at it
as a time for new opportunities and a blank page
before we finish out the actual calendar year.
So it still is a great time
if there's anything you've been wanting to do this year
that you didn't get around to
or any habits you want to work on
or things that are important to you
that you want to focus on
in this final stretch of the year.
You have plenty of time to work on all those things.
That's what I've been trying to tell myself at least.
I've also been feeling so grateful
that not only am I able to do so many things I love
but I also have this amazing community here
where I can share everything with you
and I feel like we're all kindred spirits.
We have all these shared interests and things we love
and it just makes everything feel even more meaningful.
I realized that this is actually my fourth fall doing YouTube
so I'm a senior in YouTube college
and it's just feeling so surreal to me
that I've been able to share videos for this long
and to be able to have this community here.
So I just wanted to thank you so much
and I am going to try my very best
to share as much fun stuff as I can with you this fall
and I can't wait to see everything that's in store.
So thank you so so much for watching.
Thank you for being here.
I hope you decide to spend the fall with me this year.
I also wanted to say a really big thank you to my patrons
for all of your support
and I'll talk to you all very soon, friends.
