In just ONE WEEK, life is going to look very different. ❤️🚐
After dropping the foster kids off, I headed to the coast for a quiet night alone in the van — somewhere to clear my head, breathe and think about everything that's about to change.
If you've watched my recent videos, you'll know I've been struggling with my mental health and feeling incredibly overwhelmed by several things happening in my life.
I want to say a huge THANK YOU for all the lovely comments, messages, virtual hugs and words of encouragement you've sent me. ❤️
I'm feeling in a much better place now, and your support has genuinely meant a lot.
This trip felt different too.
The foster kids will be leaving in just one week, and once they go, I'm going to be moving into the van and spending the next month living full-time vanlife. 🚐
So the preparations have officially started!
I've got a new fridge for the van, I'm starting to get everything organised, and I'm thinking about what I actually need for a month on the road.
In this vlog:
🌊 A peaceful night by the sea 🚐 Solo female vanlife ❤️ An update on how I've been feeling 🙏 A huge thank you for your support 👋 Preparing for the foster kids to leave 🧊 A new fridge for the campervan 📦 Getting the van ready for full-time living 🗓️ Just ONE WEEK until the adventure begins
There's going to be a lot of change over the next few weeks, and if I'm honest, I'm feeling a mixture of emotions about all of it.
But I'm also excited.
I've spent so much time talking about wanting more freedom and wanting to get back into the van...
Now I'm actually going to do it.
For the next month, you'll get to see what full-time vanlife is really like for me — the beautiful park-ups, working online from the van, what I spend, where I sleep, the challenges, the mistakes and probably plenty of things I haven't even thought about yet! 😂
Thank you for sticking with me through both the good days and the difficult ones. ❤️

🚐 ABOUT ME Hi, I'm Sara. I lived in a van full time for 2 years while my house was being renovated, and the experience completely changed how I view freedom, money, and simple living. Now that the renovations are finished, I'm back in the house paying off renovation debt, keeping costs as low as possible, and working hard to build online income through YouTube and other projects. My goal is simple: create a sustainable income that allows me to spend extended periods on the road again and eventually make vanlife a permanent part of my future. On this channel, I share the honest reality of vanlife, budgeting, debt payoff, simple living, travel, and my journey back towards financial freedom and life on the road.

The speaker documents a day of preparing their van for potential full-time living. After dropping off children and visiting an Asda car park to film content, they spend the day installing new equipment, organizing the living space, and reflecting on their personal struggles and the support received from their online community.
I have another day left in the van, and I'm really looking forward to it.
I don't know who I'm going to, I've turned the priority over to the children, I've turned them in ways beyond the ways of priority.
I don't know.
I don't know what I'm going to do, but I'm definitely at the ASDA car park, I'm going to film some kind of content on the way, for an accidental event, YouTube, and Facebook.
As it's a Bank Holiday Monday, I don't know whether that will affect campaigning or not, but it could.
I'm going to go filming this content, and then we can go and come back to get a place to go during the day.
Alright, including in Asda. I'm going to come by to check if there were any other stores ahead here, because
More content on importance, that is, for everything to be better, I think.
The social gathering is there, but I don't think I'm going to attend; I think I'm going to,
I'm not realizing I'm just a few minutes away from the world, I'm continuing with Fleetwood,
Well, I think I'll just go and see if there are any other shops around here, I'm off.
In reality, I need petrol and service.
Oh, I can actually park here in reality, on the stage of the world.
Oh, come on, I don't know if I should say that.
Well, it's quite interesting there, it's interesting, but it's important to be in the world or in any way at all.
I have bought a wardrobe.
I had a wall.
He was going down there, but it was interesting.
It was a 12-volt battery, and I didn't like that.
Felly, what I've done during that time is buy the same one.
It might have been plugged in to go out with a cigarette, so it could be 12 volts,
Also, if it were to be used on the plough as well.
Felly, my thought is, I might use it on the plough, perhaps.
That's what I'm thinking about at the moment.
Using the plug because I was going to be interested in going to smoke a cigarette in the world, and thus would be using a lot of plugs.
Moreover, theoretically, we are today, and I hope I can
He is fully involved in the band, doing at least a few things.
In one respect, everything could change because Foster would be in my way.
Foster is up to anything else, but the plan is for the students to carry on with the year today.
I am going to assist with any inquiry they have, so I am unable to proceed further with a standard response anywhere.
I don't know, to be safe, I don't know.
We've had a meeting on Thursday, so we'll see what comes from that.
I think we need a fence, but I think we'll be during this fence dealing with the most original.
I'm going to show you all of this.
I feel...
Dwi wedi rhoi...
Oh my word, that's terrible!
I've also given a new platform.
Do you know?
Oh my!
I have 2p in its place.
Oh no, a new platform!
It's interesting, it's interesting.
Yna...
Oh my goodness. Charcoal. I feel like that season might be over, and I've got a socket just down there I can plug it into.
Hopefully. It might have to go back; I don't know yet. Perfect. Maybe I'll put it in— I'll do it the other way I think.
That's the perfect depth, though. See if I know what I'm doing. I don't know if the plug will reach pushing that way, but we'll see.
I also don't know where the plug actually is. Found it. It's just in a bag. I hope it can reach, hopefully.
It would be better if I could drill a hole through the wood, but I don't have anything to do it with. Maybe when I get back home.
Oh, it fits, that's good. There we go, my nice new fridge. Yeah, it opens, and there's enough space there.
I have some food with me for when I'm away. I like it. Let's turn the inverter on.
Right, let's see. Socket on. Yes. What's it showing? Eleven. Hold the buttons. Five, we don't need a five. Let's do eight.
I'm also going to get this bed sorted. I bought a fitted sheet. You might remember, I used to always have it as a double, but I've given up on that.
But I still have a double layer stuck on it. I've got all sorts of stuff here, so I need to rip it off and start over.
Get all this junk off. I still haven't backed up my foam, whatever it's called. That's a job that needs to be done.
But for now, it can just have a fitted sheet on it. Take all this off. I don't like it; it's too soft for me.
I should have done this at home before I came out. It's too hard. When the kids are around, it's impossible to get anything done.
Nice new one; it's a single sheet, so it'll be too big, but it'll be better than that big double one I had on.
Oh, that's better. I'll be able to reach my drawers under the bed more easily now as well.
I want to see what else I've purchased for my potential upcoming full-time role. What do I have?
Oh, I've got a curtain. The idea, is this a curtain? The idea, I don't know what color I got.
The idea is that I want this to fit between the van space and the cab.
Oh, I got something kind of like this color. It's a blackout. I don't know if it's the right size, I have no idea.
I'm going to hang a curtain rod up there. I meant to bring the necessary items with me to get it done.
I'm not very handy. Literally, even just putting in a few screws to hang a small curtain would be a problem for me.
But the idea is to keep it up just a bit longer, I guess, for another blackout.
Oh, and then I got a screen. I've got a nebula. I need to get it out. I think it's in the van.
I've got a nebula projector, you know, for movie nights with a screen up.
Like putting up my curtain and then putting up a screen. That's my idea. I don't know if it's going to work. We'll see.
And what else did I get? I've got, what's this? Oh, this is a faucet thing.
Again, I don't know if it's any good. I don't know where anyone else might get it from—the only place I've ever gotten water is from my tap at home.
Never been out long enough to need water. Oh, that's a nice sound. Where do people get water from?
I've bought this thing that you attach to it—I don't know, again, I don't know if I actually need this.
But you can attach that to any tap, and then, oh, I love that sound. Fill up my water.
I think you can buy those extenders. I don't know. Oh my goodness. I love this noise.
I actually did buy it too, just a bit cheap—what is this? I saw it the other day at Home Bargain or somewhere like that.
It's always at Lidl somewhere. It's like a small collapsible water container.
I thought that if I couldn't, I don't know, if I couldn't reach, if I didn't have an extender, I could fill this up.
Yeah, but where can I fill up? Other than campsites, where do you fill up? Help me. I don't know.
But I just thought I'd buy them. Oh, I've just got screws and hooks and other things in there.
I've got these. They're going to be mounted on the ceiling for my curtain pole.
I'm just going to use some bamboo things from the garden, I think.
And then I've got, oh no, it hasn't come. I've got this thing, what's it called? That black stretchy stuff.
I've got some of that which I'm going to place in front of this cupboard so I can store things there.
And I just bought, when I went into Asda then, I just bought two tubs.
To be honest, I thought they could go on top of the fridge, just for extra storage.
Like, I don't know, food or something. I don't know what.
And a little salt and pepper, because the salt and pepper that used to be in my van, I've now put in my house, so.
Oh, look, these tubs fit perfectly down there.
There's a little space on the side for something else.
And then, once I put that black thing—whatever it's called—in front of it, they won't come out while I'm driving.
I took that walk at the perfect moment. The heavens are opening.
I love a little rain in the van, though. The wind's wild, though. Rocking.
Oh my goodness. That rain is wild.
Imagine if we were out on the beach.
Oh no, I just closed my window. Yikes.
I have to clean up all this mess. I'm starving.
First, I'm going to open this new salt thing.
Oh, that was a bit too much salt.
I wish I had something else to go with this, but this is all I've got.
It will be fine. In fact, I think it will be quite nice.
The rain has stopped. It looks nice out there now.
I think it might be one of those days when it's pouring down, then sunny, pouring down, then sunny.
On the way to drop the kids off, we saw a beautiful rainbow on the driveway.
It was, like, properly close. It was lovely.
I've just had a lovely little tidy up. Look at all the rubbish I've found from the van.
From various different drawers and items.
Right, I think before I settle in to do a bit of online work, I'm just going to go outside and have a little wander.
I don't know; I'm not sure what the parking situation is.
Like, whether I can park overnight or what the deal is.
So let's go and have a little look. I think I might need a jumper because it's windy.
I'm looking, but I don't seem to see any signs anywhere.
Oh, hold on. Permit holders only.
It's a bit further down from where I am. I'm already down there.
Maybe I need to go back, all the way down to where I am.
I think this one is for permit holders.
I'm down there. See the van?
There.
I think it's free. It doesn't seem to have any signs indicating that it isn't free.
So I think we're all set, and I believe overnight parking is permitted.
So this is going to be my spot. I can come here to relax and get some work done, I reckon.
There you are. There are no signs here. I'm fine, I reckon.
Look how nice everything looks now with my fridge underneath.
I've ordered a new one of these as well because this one's absolutely battered.
I've organized all my food into these containers, and my bed looks lovely.
Greatly pleased. Just ignore the nonsense.
Time has kind of flown, to be honest. It's like half past three.
Where has the day gone?
Because it was so messy in here and all the tidying I had to do.
I mean, it's still a complete mess in the front, but to be honest, it's not really a mess.
It's just like the car seats and all the stuff I want to get out of the van, and the duvet that was here before, and all those things.
So it's not too bad. My charcoal. Bits and pieces.
While I'm at it, I'll show you what I've sorted out. I've sorted out my drawers.
I've never been able to get into these before because my bed was all the way over there.
So I've organized my drawers and figured out what I want to keep here all the time.
I've got some cups, just two pans, plates. That's all good.
And then in this second one here, I just have my clothes.
Well done, I reckon.
I feel very ready for full-time. Let's hope it happens and nothing comes up with fostering.
I'm sure it will. It always does.
All we can do is cross our fingers and hope.
OK, this time is absolutely flying by today. I don't know why.
It's like, what time is it? Like quarter to six.
I'm not sure whether to cook my dinner or take a short walk.
I might go for a little stroll now and then settle in for the night.
I've put on my jumper, ready to go outside in that wind.
I was just thinking, actually, and I feel like I really just need to say a huge, massive thank you to everyone.
As I mentioned very briefly at the beginning of this video, I've shared, you know, a lot about what I've been struggling with recently.
It's very situational, some specific things happening in my personal life.
You know, obviously it does have to do with wanting to foster and being out in the van.
But there are some things happening in my personal life that I'm really struggling with, and I've been struggling with them honestly for months and months and months.
And I opened up about it a little, saying how I need help with this.
Not the last video, the one before that, or whenever it was—I can't remember.
But so many of you sent me these wonderfully wonderful comments and messages, just supporting me and being so kind to me, a stranger, you know, on the Internet.
And I'm going to get emotional. I do so much, really I do.
But it truly means the world to me that you take the time not just to watch these videos.
But then when I share that, I'm really struggling to just send me kind words.
It means so much to me. So thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
There's no more quiet in this video, I promise. That was just.
Let's go with this one. Let's see what's happening.
The state of the front. Chaos in there. Chaos.
I think it's dinner time.
Get my food out of my lovely new fridge.
My iPad and a watch.
