And welcome back. We love spoiling our pets. And this morning we've got some
locally made treats that may have your dog begging for more pet. Once
Clarkson is here, Joe Alnari owner joins us this morning. Thank you so
much for coming out. Thank you for having me. And you have all of these
great things, but you have one way that you want to present these that
they're natural, right? Tell me about correct. Yes. So, you know, we want to
try to avoid rawhide. Um, those are real bad for you. They're byproducts
of the leather making industry. Almost everything here is single
ingredient. Good for your dog in varying hardnesses to accommodate all
dogs of all sizes. So when I go back a little bit, I have a very small dog,
so I wouldn't be giving him rawhide. But a lot of people do buy this rawhide
and you just said that it's a byproduct of leather. How harmful is that? Very
harmful. So I just, you know, it's treated with toxic chemicals toe to get
it to where it is. It's pressed into sheets and shapes and you really don't
want that. It can cause blockages. All of these are all fully digestible. Good
for your dog. So how did you come about making these? Or do you make them
yourself? We don't make them ourselves, but we do. We're very careful on where
we get them. Um, so, you know, traceability is very important. But we
got into this because we had a dog that was a ferocious chore and, uh, you
know, we wanted to make sure he had the best. Is that the little be shown? So
it was our original dog beagle mix. But yeah, awesome. So let's go through some
of the things that you have here. Some do look familiar like that looks like
it could be rawhide, but it absolutely is not. So tell me what you got there.
So we've got your classic pig ears and cow ears. Um, collagen shoes are very
popular. What makes them? Is it the same thing that we take collagen for? It's
very similar. Yes. So it's an inner layer of skin and they're fully
digestible and it helps your dog's skin and coat and keeps them busy.
Beautiful. I love that idea. So we got some of the harder stuff. We have some
beef snouts and some pig snouts. These are surprisingly light. I mean, when it
says pig snout, what is this made of? So it is an actual pig snout. So it's just
dried and puffed. Yeah, thank you. And then classic bully sticks. Um, Himalayan
cheese, probably the most popular thing we sell. That is, I mean, it feels like
wow, it's made in Nepal. Um, it's dried and puffed. It comes in our standard
flavors. Plus we have pumpkin, strawberry, blueberry and peanut butter.
And how popular are those with done? Do they love them? They love them.
They're long lasting and they also they chew really well. They kind of keep
them a little bit on the busy side. Then. Okay. Are these little piggy feet
here? Those are lamb legs. Okay. Wow. And they eat all of? Yes. So the hoof
part is keratin. So it's very similar to your fingernail material. Um, fairly
digestible, but it it's not as hard as bones. So fairly safe. Yeah. Wow.
Absolutely. I can't help but look over here. This looks like a little horn
aplenty here. What? What is that? Can you pick it up? Oh yeah. So this is a
goat horn and a goat horn. It's got bone on the inside, but the outside is
keratin on the harder side. Um, but a good shoe, especially for aggressive
chewers. It just kind of smells a little when it's wet. So well, so when
you say that it's a gold horn, is it sourced afterwards? It's not. Okay,
tell me how that because I want to make sure that they're okay. So I mean,
you know, sustainability, we want to make sure every part of the animal is
used. So, yeah, so it's a great shoe. Um, wow. That has to be for a really
big now. This is kind of scary and I don't want to say upsetting, but it is
kind of, I don't know if you can get a shot of this, James. Um, this is a hairy
cow, hairy cow ear. Yes. So we also have to eat this hair. I mean, so, you
know, when the dogs eat those, um, some of the hair is not digested. It's also
keratin. Um, so it actually helps scrub their intestines of parasites. Wow. As
it goes through, never would have thought of that. Are people aware of
these different things that you have in here that that do helpful things to
them? Because, you know, you're just looking at, I'm looking a little pigs
now. Okay. And a little gold feetsies. Um, but are people coming to you and
they're aware of this? Or do you have to say, look, this is what will help
your pet. We're trying to get the word out. So people think of all choose as
rawhides and then they hear rides are bad and they avoid all choose. Well,
chewing is very important for your dog's dental health and it keeps their
breath fresh and it's it keeps them busy and it's entertaining. And all
these over here, these are beef cheeks. Correct. Like so can you and they come
in different colors. I mean, exactly. There are different flavors, different
flavors of beef cheeks. Beef cheek is actually it comes from the cow's head.
Um, they're dried. Um, they're processed by removing the hair and
everything with shells. Um, they infuse them with water and then when they dry
them, they puff up and then there's plain, there's flavor, there's bully
stick dusted. Yeah. So how do you know about all these different things? I
mean, this is definitely an education not only for me, I'm sure for our
viewers as well. But how is this all at pet wants? It is. Yeah. So we have a
really large chew bar. Um, it's about 30 ft long. Um, our addresses on the
screen. Um, but yeah, so we've been doing this about five years and it
kind of all started because we had a dog that had stomach issues and bored
and wanted to make sure that all other pups were healthy and safe. Yes. Thank
you so much for coming in this morning. We will put a link on our website at
Fox to Detroit dot com. Pet wants Clarkson. We'll be right back.
