A very hot day today at Camp Maybury in downtown 102 degrees. The high
temperature, not a record. But I do remember this day back in 2000 when we
hit 112 degrees here in Austin very early in September. And if memory
serves me right, that should be our all time higher, very close to it. 56. The
record low, which sounds nice in 1974. In fact, that record low is about 21
degrees cooler than our load this morning, which was 77 average is 73 and
our average high is 94. We're supposed to be cooling off a little bit by now,
but that's not the case yet. Looking ahead to Labor Day. I want to show you
this because it looks like our Labor Day forecast looking good. Very hot
with isolated storms about 99 for your high. It's gonna be hot and maybe a few
showers to help cool you off in the afternoon. I'm not counting on it.
Tomorrow is a better, better chance of rain for us, I think. But right now,
nothing showing up. As we look here, we had bad fest tonight, and that's the
Hyatt Regency Camera Congress Avenue. Eso. Hopefully everything going good
there. Temperatures tonight are in the eighties. Couple spots maybe
approaching 90 like it is here in Austin's 89 Georgetown. You're 89. Same
thing in Blanco. Cool spot is 81 in Fredericksburg. It's 83 getting 84
Rockdale. And as we look at our feels like temperature, that's when you
factor in the humidity with what it feels like on your skin. It's mostly in
the low to mid nineties here. Austin and 94 Bergstrom and 95. Same thing in
San Marcos. As we look at the heat index for tomorrow, I think we'll hit a
high temperature about 97. The heat index shows about 102 to 103. That's
cooler than today. We'll see if this verifies in anticipation of more
clouds. Of course, we're not the only one suffering in the heat. It's in the
eighties and nineties statewide. It is raining in East Texas. Very humid. Tyler
in Houston is 78. So that's because their showers around. As you look at
the next 24 hours, we're gonna be in the nineties again tomorrow. Notice
it's a little bit cooler. At least this model shows that. So I'm gonna keep us
down a little bit in terms of our heat. There are some clouds will contend with
tonight. Hold us in the seventies for lows. Rain showers I mentioned earlier
around Houston are starting to fall apart. We have scattered showers mainly
tomorrow. I don't think we'll see too much tonight, although scattered
thunderstorms are possible tomorrow with more clouds. And this is what our
high resolution models are showing. Does show scattered storms better
coverage tomorrow than what we had today. Something to look forward to
seventies for lows eighties and nineties at the lunch hour and nineties
for high. So I'm gonna try to keep us below 100 76 for low tonight and then
some scattered storms in the afternoon with a high temperature of 97 7 day
forecast. Looks like temperatures will actually be in the upper nineties to
near 100 degrees.
