people of Atlantis around this time. But this was not the ancient continent of
Atlantis that had sunk more than 70,000 years earlier. These were actually refugees from the
island of Crete. They fled after the massive eruption of the volcano Thera, present-day
Santorini, which generated enormous tsunamis that completely destroyed their culture.
The Egyptian priest called them Kepchu, the same name they used for the inhabitants of Crete.
Some of the survivors of the Minoan volcanic disaster came to ask for help from the Egyptians,
