It housed a battalion of roughly 3,000 domain personnel. They hollowed out the interior of the mountain, built a massive facility, and concealed it perfectly using electronic illusion technology. However, shortly after settlement, the base was suddenly attacked and completely wiped out by remnants of the old empire operating from Mars. Thousands of domain ISBEs were captured, their memories erased, and thrown into the reincarnation cycle on Earth inside biological bodies. They remain part of the human population to this day. The domain was furious. They repeatedly sent more forces. Eventually, a full-scale space war erupted within the solar system. According to Errol, the conflict continued until around 1235 AD, when the domain finally destroyed the last remaining old empire warships in this sector. Then, Errol told a specific story that sent chills down Matilda's spine. In 1914, a domain officer on a routine reconnaissance mission on Earth took control of the body of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. As a powerful ISBE, he easily pushed out the original soul and assumed full control. But he underestimated how deeply hated the Habsburg family was by rival factions. Just months later, the Archduke was assassinated by a Bosnian student in Sarajevo. In the moment he was shot, the domain officer was violently ejected from the body. Disoriented, he accidentally flew into one of the amnesia force screens and was immediately captured. From this incident, the domain discovered a horrifying truth. A vast region of space at the edge of this galaxy is being monitored by an enormous electronic force field. This screen is designed to detect and trap any ISBE attempting to leave the area. When an ISBE is caught, they undergo a brutal brainwashing process using electric shocks of billions of volts, millions of times stronger than electroshock therapy on Earth. This shock doesn't just erase the memory of one lifetime. It wipes out all accumulated memories across trillions of years, including the ISBE's true identity. They could no longer remember who they were, where they came from, their knowledge, their skills, their past memories, or their ability to function as spiritual beings. They were left completely overwhelmed, reduced to empty shells with no memory, like mindless robots. What the domain learned from this officer's experience was that the old empire had been using Earth as a prison planet for a very long time, perhaps millions of years. Therefore, when ISBE bodies die, they leave the body. They are detected by a force screen, captured and ordered to be hypnotized back into the light. The idea of heaven and the afterlife is part of the hypnosis therapy, a massive trick designed to keep the entire system running. After being shocked and hypnotically wiped of their previous life's memories, the ISBE is immediately given new hypnotic commands to report back to Earth, as if on a secret mission to live in a new body. Every ISBE is brainwashed into believing they have a special purpose on Earth, anything except the real purpose, to be a prisoner. Any ISBE deemed undesirable by the old empire was classified as untouchables. This included political criminals, free thinkers, revolutionaries, artists, writers, musicians, scientists, and geniuses in almost every field. Anyone who refused to submit to the old empire's system of economic, political, and religious slavery was labeled untouchable and sentenced to permanent imprisonment on Earth after memory wipe. This is why Earth has an unusually high density of artists, intellectuals, and strong personalities compared to other planets. Similarly, the domain officer who had taken control of the body of the Archduke of Austria was assassinated and subsequently captured by old empire forces. Because this particular officer was a highly capable ISBE, far above average, he was taken to a secret old empire base deep beneath the surface of Mars, in the Cydonia region. There, he was imprisoned in a specially designed cell for 27 long years. Fortunately, the officer eventually managed to escape. As soon as he returned to his base in the asteroid belt, he reported the coordinates. The domain immediately dispatched a battle cruiser to the location and completely destroyed the old empire base on Mars. However, although that military base was obliterated, most of the old empire's massive systems, the force screens, electroshock machines, amnesia devices, and hypnotic equipment, continued to operate in undiscovered locations right up to the present day. The central control base for this entire mind-control prison system has never been found. As a result, the influence of these facilities remains active. According to the domain's observations, after the old empire's military forces were wiped out, no one was left to stop other civilizations from sending their untouchables, unwanted I-S-B-E-S, to Earth from across the galaxies. And so, Earth has become the common dumping ground for unwanted souls throughout this entire sector of space. This partly explains why Earth has such an extremely unusual and diverse mixture of races, cultures, languages, moral codes, religions, and political systems, something rarely seen on a normal planet. Most planets of Sun Type 12 Class VII are typically home to only one type of body or humanoid race. Furthermore, most ancient civilizations and major events on Earth have been heavily influenced by the hidden operations and hypnotic activities of the old empire's bases. To this day, no one has been able to locate exactly where these systems are operating, how they function, or who controls them, because they are extremely well-protected by force screens and sophisticated traps. The domain has also not yet launched any large-scale campaign to search for, discover, and completely destroy this ancient and vast network of equipment.
