The host shares personal updates regarding home maintenance and a recent camping trip before reviewing a selection of RV and outdoor gear. The episode covers various hardware, lighting, and utility products available on Amazon, while announcing a temporary hiatus for the \"Friday's Fines\" series as the host prepares for upcoming travel to Lost Maples.
Good afternoon. Welcome to Dude RV. Hey, I appreciate you stopping by.
Go ahead, say it with me. You got here just in time. That's right, because it's Friday,
and it's time for another edition of Friday's Fines. I just got back from Lost Maple State
Natural Area. We had buzzard days. Y'all should have been there. It wasn't too awfully hot,
but man, that is a beautiful place. You got to go see it. All right, background watchers want
to see what's going on. It's hot. It's dry. We're actually in a burn band, and that's a rare thing
here in East Texas. I took Thorie out on the road, spent a week camping in her. That was such a fun
thing. My grass, well, it's not grass. Whatever it is, it's dying. The grass, we're watering it.
We lost a tree. While I was on the road, the fungus has killed that tree, and I knew it was
just a matter of time. Air conditioner went out the day after I left. Fortunately, Yappy stayed home
and was here to help. The air conditioner just, I don't know, we're not sure why,
but it just stopped working. Fortunately, the little garage mini split kept her cool
until the HVAC guy could come out here. Now you're updated. All right, we got a
fun and exciting edition of Friday's Fines. You're going to want to subscribe. Oh, hey,
I've been spending, the reason there's not a whole lot of change in the background,
as I've mentioned, I've been diligently working on the dudervy.com experience and the map tool.
That map tool is laying the foundation for the Atlas project and almost there,
almost there. We're about to start really pushing hard on the Atlas program. Go check
out dudervy.com. Give me some feedback. See what else we could do that would improve your
user experience there. Meanwhile, we're going to add some more content, more stuff.
We're going to open some boxes and look at some stuff. I got, what, five of them.
Three, four, five, and you're going to want to click on subscribe because that's going to be
a pop-up. We're excited. We're really excited about that one. All right, we're going to go
biggest, I guess, to smallest, to flattest. All of these items, all of these items are available
on Amazon. I want to thank all of these vendors for sponsoring this edition of Friday's Fines.
To support the vendors who support the show, I'm going to provide you with links in the
description down below that will take you directly to their product pages. I will also provide you
a link up there in the top that will take you to the Friday's Fines page on dudervy.com so that
you can see this episode there. The links in the description really help us. All right, let's get
to it. First one, I really, this box showed up the day I was leaving and I was like, man, I wish
I got here a day earlier. Not sure the vendor, but this is the Wilcro RV magnet. That's what
it is. What are you doing looking over there? Quit looking at the latch. You'll go blind looking at
the latch. This is for your compartment doors, the magnetic latch. On my little DIY RV,
I had to put a hatch for the battery compartment right here. And when, when that battery I found
while I was on the road during the day, when this bad boy right here is going and it's 110 degrees,
it gets hot in that compartment. And so I need a way to secure that right there.
My thought is to put that right there. Like, so maybe not. Yeah. See like that.
Don't worry. Don't worry. You're perfect. So we're going to do that. And I also found that
it would be nice on a windy day on a windy day to be able to have a magnet right there. That way,
not snatching it out of my hand. I realized I won't be able to have them both open at the same
time, but I'll mess with that. Meanwhile, I'm spending too much time talking about magnets.
We got to be opening boxes. Someone posted that they don't care for my, my transitions.
Next one is the Prime Luxe WK302-V65 LED work light set. This is a two pack, not two pock.
What are you doing looking up there? You're supposed to be looking right there. The Prime
Luxe two pack, not two pock. So if you have, man, that is, that's heavy duty right there.
That, if you got like a big old brush, big pig bumper and put that up there,
put it on your KC headlight, your headache rack. I have, I have two possible options.
And one of them, I think because they're, they're 12 volt. I have the one on the back of the,
the basket. And I think I'm going to put two on the rear rack. That way we can light up the,
the trailer hitch at night. It'll also serve as a better campground light.
If not there, I also have considered, I need lights on the tractor.
I'll explore my options to give you the best experience. All right. Meanwhile,
let's open another box. We are moving right along. This is the, yes, you know me. I like my,
my garden of lights. I like my outdoor low voltage lights. About a year ago,
I worked with a similar product, but they were not nearly as cool as this. Check this out.
How pretty is that? Even clip that up on your tent.
Or we're not missing something. It's stealth. So it goes just like that. If you want to stick
it in the ground or you want to take it camping and hang it from your tent flap,
we've got to get it charged. And we will look at it after dark. But I think down here by the pond
down there will be a great location. After dark we'll have, that's the new pathway by the way.
All right. So after dark, we'll see them lit up. Meanwhile, next. Our next product. Now
we live way out in rural, we live in rural East Texas and the water,
it's well water. They do a good job in supplying us with water, but it's full of sand and chlorine
and minerals. It cogs up everything. It smells a little like rotten eggs sometimes.
So when Simpure reached out to me and asked if I was interested in wearing it with this,
I had to say, yes, this is a countertop, a countertop RO system.
Box has seen a little traveling. Hopefully it didn't go all the way in. Instructions,
lots of foam. Boom. You know, that's about the perfect size for an RV countertop water system.
I don't know that you can get a water RO much more compact than this. Let me do my homework.
Let me do some reading up on it and I'll come back and speak semi intelligently about it.
Let me do my homework and then we'll talk intelligently about it.
Got to remove the protective film before I'll be back. This is pretty cool. Check this out.
So this is truly a portable RO system. And inside, when you, when you pull the side panel off,
it's a couple of little clips. You can see that you've got substantial filtration going here.
Composite, alkaline, and the RO membrane. So when it's time to replace these,
they just pop right out. Turn it and there you go. And you can take it with you. I could have
taken this to Lost Maple State Natural Area and not had to worry about buying bottled water
because the onsite water filters were not working and that water was bad.
Next time that'll be going with us. That way we don't have to worry about all those plastic
bottles. Here, here, here is how it works. This is Dude RV proof. One, take your water tank,
fill it up. Well, that'd be remove it. And number two is fill it up. Number three is put it back on
place. And it tells you right there that that's the backside. You put that on that way.
Then you plug it in and push the button. How simple? Let's try it. Remember, put that to the
rear. Okay. We need some electricity. Power it up. Power it up baby. Start it. Let's make it light
up. Boom. That was kind of anti-climatic, but we got lights blinking over here.
So we need a, we need something under there before I push any buttons. It's got bubbles.
We're going to need to refill because right now we're filling the cartridges.
What do I do when it gets to the end?
I'll do it three to five times and then we'll be back. We've been using the countertop carbon
filter. Takes up pretty much the same footprint. I like it. You look, you look at our glasses,
you can see the water out here has got a lot of mineral content in it. I like that we have
a clear reservoir and I can never tell. We always had to always have to lift the lid on that one.
It's good water. I like it. That's a good investment right there. That's going to save us
on camping water or bottles of water when we go camping and we can take it with us. Awesome.
And I drink about a gallon of water a day. So that comes in handy. I'm having to refill that
twice a day just for me. That's my accounting, her part. Okay. Moving right along. We, we got
one more box to open. So let's open one more box. It's the flat one. This is the five foot
folding BBQ table. That's right, buddy. We're going to be doing some BBQ on a table.
I'm not sure how much. I have a burn band. We're in the middle of a burn band,
in the middle of a burn band. I can find some hot stuff. Half plastic,
half metal. So that means you can put hot stuff on here and no worries about the plastic melting.
And yet you can still have a lightweight table. Cuts the weight in half. I just got to get it
open like that. Oh, there's a carry handle. I was wondering where that carry handle,
we've got some utensil hanging stuff. Here we are. I need a place to put two towels.
Towel there, there, there. A couple of hooks right there to hang some stuff. Now we need to
cook on it. We got to do some cooking. Sometimes it's the little things that make the big difference.
So when I'm loading, I can secure the door. That way it doesn't get in the way while I'm
working right here, getting in and out. And it's a mess in there. Don't be judgmental.
I just got back. Now if the air conditioner is running and we're
charging that battery, this compartment gets hot. So it's got to be open.
I added that one and now that was not strong enough. Oh no. There it is. There you go.
Now we can have airflow while we're cooling inside. Simple enough. I like it. I like it.
I like it. And I know you will too. All right. Moving right along. We got to go do something
with some lights now. So my tractor, she'd been a little abused. Working clearing brush down in
the forest. I raked off the road flashers. I wasn't using the road flashers anyway.
And now you can hear the fuel pump going. So it's going to make the lights flicker, but
there we go. We'll be working after dark now. See that just wasn't bright enough.
Now we'll light up the forest. So after dark, after dark, we'll come over here.
See how bright that is. 300 watts a piece. So that's 600 watts of light.
We ought to be able to see something after dark with that. All right. Moving right along.
That's what it's all about right there. That's what that table's good for right there. And then
you can put all your other stuff over here. Look at that. Easy to sanitize. The whole thing's
easy to sanitize. Folds flat. That's very cool. I like it. And I know you will too.
All right. I'll let you, I'll, I'll do a, I don't know. I'll let you eat,
I'll let you see me eat steak. We shall eat steak. That's going to be good steak right there.
I've been using it up. I forgot a fork. We have tongs. I was going to hang it,
but the hanger doesn't work too well. Oh, are they dirty? Yeah, they got something on them.
They could use a sanitizer. I was handling the grate with them. Oh, that's what, that's what it
is. We're going to give this table away too? Yeah, it's already bent. Look, it's already bent
that came out of the box that way. And we're, we're, we're recording.
Thank you for pointing that out. You're so good at selling this stuff.
We just had that discussion. A very, well, I'm already going to have to edit that ---- out
because we've already, you were yelling about this before. Hot, hot, hot, hot, hot. Oh,
that's about right. That's about right. I like it. I like it. Medium rare.
That's awesome. That is so bright. That's amazing. Although I've been told I won't be working down
in my brush. All right. We got to wait for the sun to get a little further down so we can see
the path lights. Come on. Almost there. I got to have a fire. Once again, we have come to the end
of another exciting edition of the Friday's Fines show. It's been a really great show. Lots of cool
products, right? Yes. And being the gracious host that I am, I will give you an opportunity to make
a purchase if you so desire. I am an Amazon influencer and I do earn a little revenue if you
click one of the links that I'm going to give you up there and down there. Down there, you'll find
individual product links. You want to go directly to the little welder, there's a link. If you want
to see the whole edition, there's a link up there that'll take you to the Friday's Fines shopping
list on the DudeRV gear recommendations page. And all of these cool items will have feature
placement on the new DudeRV.com website. If you want to go explore all the things that we've
worked with here on Friday's Fines, it's there. There's over almost 3,500 pages on DudeRV.com.
So I've been a little busy. Get to it. Y'all go check it out. I worked really hard to build
that for you. Anyway, we're done. I'll see you. I'll see you in two weeks. I'm taking a break
from Friday's Fines. I'm going to take a break. I haven't had a break from Friday's Fines.
I don't think I've missed an episode in five years, maybe one or two, or maybe longer than
that. Friday's Fines hasn't been going for 10 years. Anyway, we're done. You won't see Friday's
Fines next week, so I say. There may be something that shows up between now and then. I'm hitting
the road next week, going to Buzzard Days. Yes, Buzzard Days still happens this year. We're doing
it at Lost Maples. You're not going to see this until the day of. You'll see that. Anyway, we're
