Brian Christopher, welcome here to our Good Night New York wedding show.
That was Hank Lane Music rocking it over there on stage. They're going to be here all evening long.
There they are. What's up Hank Lane? Give us a little something. Give us a little five, six,
seven, eight real quick. Yes, yes, yes. Break it down for us. Talk to me, talk to me. Oh,
talk to me? Oh, you're talking to us? Is Olivia Deen over there? What's going on? They're so
talented. So they got a DJ, they got a band rocking all night long. But Crystal, we have
wedding planner Lisa Antonecchia here. We got rings. So if somebody's watching, maybe they can
pop the big question. Oh, yes. To you or to anybody else. I'm just putting you out there. You know
where to find me. Yeah. Okay. But I got to know, let's talk wedding outfits. Yes, yes. You're
wearing white to our wedding special. Okay. Is this legal? No, no, no. This is not white,
my colorblind friend. What do you mean it's not white? It's cream. Is that cream? It's cream. Is
it cream? Get with the cream, boo. This is white. And this is cream. Or wait, no, this is white,
I think. Oh, yeah. Because they're about the same. All good, all good. So let's talk about
how to dress when you go to a wedding. Okay, so here's the deal. I think you should just be pretty.
Don't try to battle the bride. Don't wear all white. You know, I have a black skirt on. Right.
What really you should do is to be on theme. If it's a country wedding, be a little country
vibe. If it's a cocktail wedding, you know, get your pretty dress out. And always, always rock
fabulous accessories. Hold on. By the way, hold on. I have something. If I'm going to a real wedding,
let me show you these shoes where I hold these shoes. Oh, heels with little balls on them?
I mean, these are, wait, don't cover the heel. Oh, okay. Come on, look at that. That's not taking
away from the attention from the bride? No, not at all. And a cute little beaded bag. This was my
mom's. So just be pretty. So it's sentimental. Yes, absolutely. And on theme. And same thing for
the fellas. As a guest. I hate going to weddings where the guy looks like he owns one suit and
he's never done. And he just dusts it out like every big occasion. Exactly. Takes it to the
cleaners. Ill-fitting. And I think for the fellas, we have to compliment your lady or whoever you're
going with, right? It's not about showing her up, but just looking like, you know, you belong
together. Yes, that's right. Your beige compliments. I guess. If you so. Yeah. If you say so. I say so.
I'm still caught up on the white versus cream. I don't know if I buy all that. On the white lace
at a wedding. You can do it, ladies. Can you? I don't know. You can do it. Okay. So now I want to
know. What do you want to know? We both have different perspectives on weddings. But since
you got married, I want to know, would you have done anything differently looking back on it? Well,
we have some video right here. This is my wedding. Okay. I would invite like half the people. Number
one. Oh, wow. Okay. Number two. I think we would have. No, actually, I wouldn't have done anything
differently. No. I loved it all. Okay. It's like we got married right after COVID. So it was super
expensive. As I mean, weddings aren't getting any cheaper. True. These days. But let me just say a
lot of guests means a lot of little envelopes with things in them that you could take to the
they should have been, but I'm not saying that everybody did that. We had people inviting
themselves to our wedding. My mom was standing at the altar crying so much. And I was crying so
much. She was literally holding my hand before my wife walked down the aisle. So it's something
memorable. I think what you got to do is do it how you want to do it. Like you were mentioning,
if it's country theme, you do you. You don't have to follow all the trends on social media. You
don't need every little, hey, look at this moment. You know what I mean? So do what's important to
you. Absolutely. There you go. So you heard it here from a married man as a perpetual guest,
just be on theme. One of the most fun weddings I ever had was California. We sat on hay and it was
all outside. Oh, hey. In a vineyard. That's cool. Yes. My good friend, Julie, who used to work here
when she got married, we all flew out to California and had a good old country time.
How you like that? I wore wedges, not high heels. Oh, wedges. Okay. And that's important for the
ladies. You got to wear the right shoes. That's right. Because you can't go digging down into the
ground and walk in like you've got hip replacement. Yeah. Not cute. No, that's not cute at all. But
we're going to keep it cute because as we go to break, we're going to have our friends from Hank
Lane Music rocking it out one more time. Let's hit it, Hank Lane Music. Coming up next, we are
talking about that bling crystal. Yes, bling bling, the wedding ring. We're going to have
more Good Night New York. We'll come right back.
All right. Welcome back here to our Good Night New York wedding special. Besides the dress,
of course, what's the next most important thing that you need or maybe the most important thing
on your wedding day? You need that ring. How much should you spend? Should it be lab grown? Should
it be a real diamond? So many questions. So little time. Joining us to discuss the ring thing is the
co-founder of the Angara, America's most loved online fine jewelry retailer. I am talking about
Aditi Daga. Welcome to Good Night New York. You're the lady with all of the bling and the answers.
OK, so let's get into it. Lab grown versus natural from the ground. Huge. I mean, well,
we know the huge difference. But when it comes to price and bling ability, like what should we be
looking at? Well, you know, lab grown diamonds are chemically, physically and optically identical
identical to natural diamonds. No human can tell the difference even under a 10x loop.
So they are identical. No human can tell the difference. OK, now let's talk about pricing.
Yes. Right. So if we look at this three carat solitaire ring, OK, it retails for about three
thousand dollars. OK. And the natural equivalent in a same FVVS color would be about seventy
thousand dollars. Oh, my goodness. Seventy grand versus three grand. Yes. All right. But is it like
not as romantic if you're getting your girl lab grown? Does it matter? I don't know. And do you
have to disclose it? Well, I think honesty is always the best foundation of any relationship.
So I'd like to, but no judgment to anyone else. But I do find that most brides pick out what they
want. Like they tell their man, hey, I want lab grown or I want like I feel like most women would
know what they want. And increasingly so women do have a say in their engagement. Right. So they do
know upfront anyways, which is absolutely great. OK. And, you know, the difference in price could
mean a mortgage, like the first down payment on a home or the honeymoon of their dreams. Why not
have it all? Absolutely. You can have that with this. Now, what do you see on trend now when it
comes to rings and certain designs? Absolutely. So last quarter of 2025, 60 percent of centerstones
of U.S. engagement rings were lab grown diamonds. Wow. Wow. And that was only two percent in 2018.
What a jump. Yeah. And people are catching on. Absolutely. And the FTC declared lab grown diamonds
real diamonds in 2018, which is why we saw that huge surge happen right now. All right. I like it.
Now, we want to play a little game where you're going to show us something and we want to guess,
do we think it's lab grown or do we think it's from the ground? Let's do it. OK. OK. So you pick
up something and you ask us and we're going to use our bionic eyeballs to see if we can tell
these beautiful sapphire earrings. OK. OK. Oh, wow. OK. You're like feet away. I'm using my
technology skills. OK. I'm going to say these are real. You're right. OK. OK. OK. Beautiful. Take
a look at these gorgeous diamond studs. Oh, oh, I'm gonna say. What do you think? I'm going lab
grown because I feel like she's trying to throw us for a twist here. Oh, OK. All right. I'm going
to go real. They're gorgeous. They are lab grown. OK. Now, how about this? What if hypothetically
maybe you got like an engagement ring with a real diamond, then would it be more appropriate
to get lab grown for like diamond studs like these? That would be a nice gift. It really
depends on the person, you know what your profession is and everything as well. So a
lot of people do choose for earrings to get lab grown because you're not putting it up to someone's
you know, it's further away. So it's a really personal choice. But, you know, you can mix and
match. There's no rules here. You know what suits your budget, your lifestyle. That's really what
matters. Got you. And as a company, we're agnostic. We sell both lab and natural. So it really doesn't
matter. The customer should always get what they want. Got you. Got you. And I would take either.
Let's talk about resale ability. Some people think like, oh, don't talk about that because
we're talking about weddings. But if it doesn't work out and you have a lab grown and you want
to resell it, then what are you getting natural versus lab grown? So natural, you will get maybe
a fraction off just for restocking. In lab grown, unfortunately, the stone holds no,
barely any resale value. It's the gold that you will get value for. But I feel like if you're
giving anything back, you know, selling it to a jeweler, maybe you want to change it to a pendant.
Okay. You know, we have couples that want to upgrade their ring to a larger stone and they
want to go for a larger lab grown ring now that they can. What do they do with their smaller
natural diamond? You know, it's still momentous for that occasion. So they convert it to
another ring, you know, with another stone or a pendant. Oh, that's beautiful. Very nice. So
many options. So little time and so much money to spend. Who's credit card, right? Or not spending
on what you pay grand versus 7,000. I also never thought about that debate over other kinds of
gemstones, but you can lab grow emeralds and rubies and not just diamonds and sapphires,
especially emerald ruby sapphires. Those are the primary color gemstones that do sell in lab
really well. Okay. Love it. Thank you for the education of people want to find Angara online.
What's the website? Angara.com. Okay. There you are. A-N-G-A-R-A. That's right. All right. Nice
and easy. Check it out. Thank you so much. All right. So we got the ring. We're talking about
the wedding. Let's talk a little music. We have a ventilator coming up right here on Good Night New
York, but first more Hank Lane music. So the planning of a wedding can be exhausting. Am I
right, Ryan? Why are you looking at me? Oh, well, it just happens that the person that planned my
wedding, Lisa Antonecchia, is here in the house from Creative Concepts by Lisa. Also, Crystal,
she hired me for my first ever paid DJ gig way back in the day. It's all your fault that I'm
here. So thank you, Lisa. So I apologize, Crystal. But Lisa, you do big things here in the tri-state,
Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, when it comes to weddings and all types of events. So tonight,
you're going to help make it nice and easy for us. And we're starting with the flowers. You have
like a candelabra. Yeah. Yeah. What's happening? So these three bouquets, we're calling these
bouquets. The new trend for bridesmaids and brides is to have something that is more sculptural,
that is not your traditional oversized floral bouquet, but to hold something that is unique
and different. So our friends at Damselfly Design, super, super creative, they have brought
us three different options. So we have the gold hoop. We have the pearls. That's cool. And we
have the basket. So your girls would carry these individually. The candelabra we're using just to
showcase them. Okay, got it, got it. So you're not carrying the candelabra. No, super quick,
this gives you like a bloom and jewelry. Absolutely. And then this is great because
it just seems easy. Absolutely. You know what I mean? Easy. And you can repurpose this so easily.
So again, what we're seeing right now are brides really being cost conscious about where they're
spending their money. So this can now become a floral display on a cocktail table, a cake table,
wherever you want to put it. And your girls will take that home at the end of the night. It's such
a great little piece to take home. It's a nice little keepsake. Now, how about when it comes
to cakes? I know at mine, I had funfetti on the inside, which is like dreams really do come true.
It's true. But this is a new trend of cakes, which we've never seen before. No, long and narrow,
rectangular. Right. So this is 26 inches long. Okay. This is almost the baby version of this
cake today. Okay. So we're seeing them incredibly long with the candles. I've been told don't light
the candles. We don't want the New York City Fire Department. We don't need that. Yes, I do.
So we're going to light them. One person from each side. Okay. Wait. So let's show how it would
be. A little kiss, kiss, kiss in the middle. I was just thinking the groom's breath has to be
straight. That's right. That's right. Can I get some bubble gum over here? You got me? No. Okay.
So this is the new cake trend for weddings. I love it. That is different. And this is from?
This is from Mia's Bakery with several locations across the New York City area. I love it. Some
in Brooklyn too. So you don't need another layer. No. Just one long layer. You got it. Okay. Nice
and easy. Nice and easy. And something else, you were mentioning the prices of weddings,
which you're saying just keep creeping up and up and up, just when we didn't think they could
anymore. That's right. So you have, as part of your business now, as planning weddings,
you also have a consignment side to the business. So you brought some items. These are things that
brides, people that are in the wedding party can essentially like rent out. I love that idea. So
we have a consignment shop, all things bridal, everything from gowns to decor to shoes,
headpieces, you name it. Half of it is brand new, never been used. Girls change their minds. And
the other half have been previously loved. And it's an amazing way to save money on such an
expensive leg. Can I just do a little something? The queen is in the house. Come on. And Crystal,
some blue shoes for you. Thank you. I would have to chop off a few toes to fit these.
This is a great concept though. So many of these things get used once, that's it. Maybe you pass
it along, but it's a nice way for it to live on and on, not wind up in a landfill. Shop smart and
reuse. There you go. Starting with the man, shop smart, shop smart. New York City fire department.
Call Lisa. All right. Thank you, Lisa. Before you go, Lisa, one thing that every wedding guest
should do and shouldn't do at a wedding. Just one tip. One tip. Oh my gosh, my brain's on fire.
Can you fill out the card before you show up? I am tired of seeing guests sitting at their table,
filling it out and writing the check while they're there. I thought you were going to say,
can you fill out the dress? I was like, that's all personal. That's a whole other subject. All
right. Well, Lisa, we appreciate it. So many great planning tips here, but we still have
our friends from Hank Lane Music. They're rocking it out. We're going to be chatting with them
coming up on Good Morning America. Well, since its founding 45 years ago, the concept behind
Hank Lane Music has always been to make sure that as their clients celebrate their wedding
or their personal event, that they enjoy music, perform the way it really should sound. That's
right. Hank Lane Music, they are not playing from weddings to high end events. They just happen to
find themselves here tonight on our Good Night New York stage. Here they are, the one and only
Hank Lane Music. Enjoy.
But tonight, I can make you my queen and make love to you endless. This ain't a wedding,
keep throwing money low. Excuse me, I might drink a little more than I should. Tonight,
I might take you home with me if I could. Tonight, baby, I will make you feel so good.
It's your love tonight.
All right. Welcome back here to our Good Night New York wedding special. We are here with Hank
Lane Music and the managing partner, Mr. Eric Marshall. Guys, first of all, thank you for the
beautiful music this evening. We appreciate it. Good energy and good sound. Yeah. Great vibes.
Sounds incredible. So, Eric, Hank Lane Music, I mean, if you've never heard of Hank Lane Music,
you're living under a rock. You guys perform at some of the best events in our area. So,
what goes into keeping this brand alive and sounding so amazing? Because everybody up here
is like a multi-instrumentalist singer. Absolutely. You hit on it. A great team,
a great group of people that all love what they do and really work hard to make people's wedding
special. All right. I want to know if you're thinking of booking Hank Lane Music or anyone,
what should you do to do your part as the person that wants the band? Give us a tip. That's a great
question. I think meeting with someone and having them make it about you, make it your own rather
than just a cookie cutter wedding. Okay. I think that's very important. And also, I mean,
hiring someone that you trust. Okay. That you like. All right. Not to do with the sax off the
F train. Don't do it, y'all. Okay. He was pretty good. Hank Lane Music. We still gotta give it to
him. Hank Lane Music. Hank Lane Music doing big things. All right. Thank you. Thank you. Now,
not only do you DJ, but you sing as well. How long have you been singing for? I mean,
it started back in elementary school. No way. Yeah. If we're gonna go all the way back. Let's
go all the way back. We're going all the way back. Okay. Well, that's just so cool. Everybody
sounds so amazing. And they look good. All the sparkles and the DJ set. All of this. We need one
of those. Y'all got it. Y'all got it. Yeah. Rocking it out. So, we want to thank everybody
for all their time and talent here on our wedding special Hank Lane Music. Let's take it away. Let's
party. Yes. That's right. Make it a good night, New York. Enjoy. Here we go. Okay. Oh, now we
feel it. Let's get it, Eric.
