Queens woman accused of posing as a police officer from India to scam Hicksville woman out of nearly $1M

A Queens woman, Vinu Tirajeli, was arrested in Hicksville after allegedly scamming a 70-year-old woman out of over $900,000. The suspect claimed to be with the Delhi Police Department, tricking the victim into wiring money and attempting to acquire gold bars. Police captured the suspect during a sting operation involving fake gold bars at a local McDonald's.
