The episode also features a themed relationship game, a detailed look at the menu and offerings of Ima Japanese Cuisine, and a musical performance by artist Nino Tariq.
Listen, female mama, we hooked up one time.
Now she's thinking we're together.
And on top of that, she claims she's pregnant with my baby.
I don't think, baby. I know.
Is that right?
What's up? You scared?
Get the f*** up from in front of my door.
You just trying to f*** with your slick ass.
Bro, that ain't my baby.
Ain't no telling who is she, but f*** no.
You know you're going to take care of your responsibility, right?
Hey, handsome. How you been?
Oh, me? I'm just pregnant with your baby.
That was the trailer to Baby Mama, which is coming out soon.
And, baby, there's way too many twists and turns.
There's blood. There's rope.
There's crazy baby mamas.
I don't know. We got to figure out all this drama.
And we decided to bring the cast members of this movie here on the show.
I've got Seven in the building, who may or may not have gotten this girl pregnant.
Welcome to the Nightcap.
Pleasure to be here.
And you play Troy.
Yes, ma'am.
And next to you, we've got Troy's mom and actually Seven's mom, Philanesia.
Welcome to the Nightcap.
Pleasure to be here.
And next to you, we've got A. Rabiot, who plays Malik in the movie.
Yeah, best friend.
Best friend of Troy.
All right.
Obviously, there's a lot of drama.
And there's always drama with baby mamas, so they say.
What can you tell us, without spoiling the movie, about this particular film?
You want to go first?
It's action-packed.
It's a lot of thrillers, a lot of twists and turns in there.
And I think it's going to be a good movie.
Everyone should definitely go stream it when it comes out, though.
Definitely going to be a little surprise ending to you.
A little surprise.
A little surprise to you.
I mean, what's a bigger surprise than a baby?
All right.
You play the baby daddy.
Yes.
The alleged baby daddy.
So, do you want to hear something about Troy?
Yeah.
Tell me a little bit about Troy.
Okay.
Troy was like an individual that take care of his business.
Him and his best friend had a podcast going on.
You and Malik.
Yeah.
Okay.
But Troy liked to party.
Troy liked to party.
He liked to do what he do with no strings attached.
Right.
No babies attached.
None of that.
And, you know, one day, one night, something happened.
And you have to see the rest.
Yeah.
So, this is all based off of a one-night stand.
This woman really wanted a family.
And she's like, you know what, I'm going to go get it.
Has a one-night stand with Troy.
Not seven.
I mean, I confuse the real people with the characters.
And then she alleges that it's your baby.
Correct.
And then a lot of drama unfolds.
Popping up, all that type of stuff.
All right, you play Troy's mom.
Yes.
And what attitude did you take in playing this character?
Well, being that I have adult children,
I'm going to ride or be a ride or die for my children.
But at the same time, if this is your child,
you're going to do what you need to do.
Yeah.
I mean, how do y'all think about this?
How would you handle this situation?
Obviously, I know nothing.
But let's say you find out that after a one-night stand,
there is a child that's potentially yours.
Well, I think we would handle it in real life.
Of course, you take care of your responsibility if it's yours.
But as you'll see in the movie, she wasn't going for it.
You know?
And like we said, you don't know if it's his or not.
Mm.
Me?
Seven, yep.
I'm asking seven, not Troy.
I had to say, OK, OK.
If that tend to happen, if that would have happened,
I mean, it wasn't nothing we planned.
You know, we was having fun.
So you know what we got to do.
We got to have a conversation.
Yeah, we ain't continuing.
I ain't trying to continue nothing.
We was just having fun.
My opinion.
Aw.
OK, Mom, I'm asking Phil now.
Fun or not.
Baby is here forever.
So that's when you, that's when the mama in me comes out.
Because I don't care how much fun it was.
It was fun.
Now you have to have sleepless nights.
Right.
Diaper changing.
And college and all of that.
So that's when you learn to zip it up.
And if you want to have fun, you play Uno.
Spades if you're feeling dangerous.
Right.
OK, what would you advise a friend?
Obviously, you played the friend.
Yeah.
I don't want to know.
We got to watch to find out what Malik says.
But if you were in the position, A-Rab.
Yes.
What would you advise your friend?
First of all, wrap it up.
Hey, if you're doing anything, wear a hat for sure.
Yeah.
In real life.
And like anything, if it's your responsibility,
you got to make sure you take care of it.
You know what I'm saying?
You have to be a man about it.
Consequences come.
Actions come with consequences.
So if you make the wrong actions,
you got to have those consequences.
Yeah.
Well, the name of the movie is Baby Mama.
And we always say it's baby mama drama.
But I feel like there's also baby daddy drama.
OK.
Phil, come on.
Can you speak on it?
Definitely.
There will be no Baby Mama without a baby daddy.
And so it usually starts with the baby daddy.
And the baby mamas just don't know
how to shut the baby daddies down.
So, yeah.
But we know that women act off emotions,
and men act off logic.
So a lot of the babies.
Or they don't act at all.
They don't act at all.
That is true.
You have some unfit fathers out here
who are not active at all.
And that causes the baby mama to get crazy,
to get wild,
and basically to do what they have to do.
But in most cases,
if the baby daddy doesn't want to be with the baby mama,
that's when the drama starts.
In a lot of cases.
I'm not going to say most cases,
but in most cases, a lot of cases.
When they want to end the relationship,
especially off a one-night stand situation,
that's when the drama comes involved.
But we're going to put this on social media.
I'm ready.
I'm ready for this.
Oh, my goodness.
All right.
Are you all down to play a little game
based on the themes of the movie?
Oh, yeah.
Come on.
Let's go.
All right.
You stay right there.
We've got the cast of Baby Mama,
which is coming out soon.
And we're going to play Game Night.
Welcome back to the Nightcap.
We've been talking to the cast of a new movie coming out
called Baby Mama,
which is Houston-based.
And full of drama and action.
We've got Seven, Phil, and A-Rab.
All right.
I decided we needed to have a little bit of fun
and get to know you a little bit better
around the themes of the movie.
So it's time for Game Night.
Okay.
I'm just going to put a scenario
and give you a couple options.
And you decide what you decide.
And this one, I think,
is very much on the nose of the movie.
You get pregnant after a one-night stand
and he says,
I never said I wanted a baby.
Is that honest or heartless?
Heartless.
Honest.
Honesty is always the best key.
Sometimes honesty can be heartless,
but it's the best key.
I'm rolling my eyes with you, Phil.
The father wants nothing to do with the pregnancy,
but his mother wants to be involved.
A blessing or boundary crossing?
A blessing.
I'm going to say blessing.
I would say blessing.
I would say blessing,
because at least you know
that someone's going to love their kid.
Somebody.
Yeah, somebody from the father's side
is going to love it.
And the mother is going to talk some sense
into the son eventually.
You've been dating for three weeks
and they start talking about baby names.
Romantic or reckless?
Reckless.
Okay, reckless across the board.
Absolutely.
Someone says they want kids someday
but refuses to discuss timing,
money, or responsibility.
Dreamer or red flag?
Red flag.
Dreamer.
Red flag.
All right, your ex said they never wanted kids
then has a baby with someone else a year later.
Personal or painful?
Painful.
I feel like it's both.
I was just about to say both.
It's both.
Yeah, like they didn't want kids with you.
Yeah.
And it's painful for you to realize.
Yeah, it's a weird one.
It's a toss-up.
Yeah.
You decide to raise the baby alone
rather than force someone into parenthood.
Empowering or unfair?
Both.
Yeah, both.
Child definitely needs two parents.
But I commend you for taking on the responsibility.
I'm kind of biased with that, but yeah.
Talk to me, Phil.
Talk to me.
Well, it's powerful because you can, right?
Because not everyone can
or has the financial means or whatever.
I see what you're saying.
But it would be fair to the baby
to give them that other parent.
All right, you stay connected to an unreliable ex
because you want your child to know their parent.
Is that healthy or messy?
It's messy.
That's a toss-up, too.
I don't like that.
I haven't heard from you today.
They're unreliable.
I mean, you want to help.
You want to keep the relationship good with this kid.
But it's not going to be healthy if they're unreliable.
I need you to pick my child up.
I need you to give me juice on that.
They're unreliable.
They can't come through.
So that means that you're still going to be stuck.
The other parent is still going to be stuck.
Stuck by itself.
It's messy.
You find out your partner has a child they never mentioned.
Is that privacy or betrayal?
That's betrayal.
It depends on how deep you are with the person.
If you're all just dating, then that's something different.
But if you're in a committed relationship.
That's partner.
That sounds like me.
I'm pretty sure she asked you in the beginning when y'all started talking.
I'm pretty sure she asked you if you had kids.
So if you lied then and come out then.
I respect privacy.
But if we're partners.
And you ask.
Yeah, that's a little fishy.
That's betrayal.
You get pregnant and your closest friends all say the father is bad news.
But you believe he will change.
Is that hopeful or de-lu-lu?
De-lu-lu.
Because that's the woman's answer, right?
De-lu-lu.
They obviously know something I don't know.
But everybody's different in different relationships.
So that could be.
People can change.
Yes, people can change.
A partner says they don't want to be a parent.
But asks you not to tell anyone about the pregnancy.
Protecting privacy or avoiding accountability?
Avoiding accountability.
Okay.
You stay in a relationship because you want your child to grow up with both parents under one roof.
Selfless or settling?
Settling.
Yeah.
Settling.
Because you're just there because you want your kids to be around both parents.
Yeah.
Someone wants children with you but has never introduced you to the important people in their life.
Private or suspicious?
Suspicious.
That's a source to sell.
Where your mama now?
Where your daddy?
All right.
That's it for Game Night.
Okay.
So you guys star in the movie that's coming out soon called Baby Mama.
All right.
Give the details to the people who are now interested in watching.
Where can they tune in once it comes out?
You can find it on Tubi.
Coming out soon.
It is not out yet.
But it will be in a few days.
And the platform is Tubi.
Yeah.
Also Amazon Prime.
And Amazon Prime.
And we don't have the actual Baby Mama here.
And I heard some news about her.
Yes.
Well, the Baby Mama is an actual baby mama.
She just had a baby.
So shout out to Ariel, Monet, and the new Baby Mama.
And she, you know, she ain't got no drama.
It wasn't from a one night stand.
Oh, no.
No.
She has a family.
No drama there.
All right.
Well, congratulations on the film.
I can't wait to watch it.
And I can't wait to find what the hell goes on.
Because it seems a little crazy.
All right.
And it's not just Baby Mamas with their drama.
It's also Baby Daddies.
All right.
You stay right there.
We're actually going to have a little drink and some more
with Ima Japanese Cuisine after the break.
Check out the Fox 26 Houston Facebook page today.
Welcome back to the Nightcap.
I'm behind because I left the Baby Drama.
Baby Drama?
The Baby Mama Drama.
The Baby Mama Drama, the Baby Daddy Drama at the couch.
Now I'm behind the bar because Ima Japanese Cuisine
is in the building.
And I've got the manager herself, Rachel Keith.
Yes.
So that means it's time to do what, babe?
Back the glass up.
Yep.
And look.
Do you see this?
I've been drinking this down.
This is a lychee martini she handed us early.
And we all enjoyed this thoroughly.
This is phenomenal.
Thank you.
All right.
So what are you making for us now?
So today I'll be making a tiny geisha.
I can start making it for you.
What's in it?
So I use Tito's.
I use strawberry sake, cranberry juice, lemon, and ice.
And that's it.
Amazing.
All right.
Go ahead and start shaking it.
So Ima's located in the Woodlands.
Yes.
What's the vibe?
Obviously Japanese food.
Yes.
Japanese.
So we are all you can eat restaurant.
We have two different tiers.
We have a $39.95 tier.
And then we have a $59.99 tier as well.
Wait.
Hold up.
This is all you can eat?
Yes.
All you can eat.
So we have basically anything.
I would say sashimi, nigiri.
We have fried rice.
We have yaki udon noodles.
We have hamachi kama.
We have different type of rolls.
There's a bunch of stuff there.
What?
Yes.
OK.
So what's the difference between the $39 here and the $59?
So with the $59 tier, we have wagyu.
We have chutoro.
We have toro.
We have salmon toro, yellowtail toro.
So it's a lot more different options that you're able to get.
Also the hamachi kama, which is the collarbone of a fish.
That is amazing because what we do is we marinate it for about 24 hours.
And then we let it cook.
And it comes out so good, so flavorful.
And obviously the drinks are phenomenal.
Yes.
And you don't just have specialty cocktails that seem like they definitely have a Japanese flair to them.
Mm-hmm.
But you also have whatever's in front of me, babe.
What's going on over here?
So we have a sake set over there.
It's about six different flavors.
We have lychee, mango, green apple, strawberry, passion fruit, and pineapple.
So you're able to get this whole set.
It's about $13.
Wait, I can get this whole set?
Yes.
And it's like I think it's $13.
And you can get that, and you will get drunk off of that.
So we Ubering.
We ride sharing, OK?
Wow, OK.
I mean, I'm obviously not going to go down the line, but I am curious, babe.
Where's the mango?
Mango's right here.
Oh, OK.
Yes.
And we make that in-house.
So we take our sake, hot sake, and then we get some syrups, and we make it in-house about every other day.
So it's fresh for you guys.
What a pairing.
Because what it is is a lot of sake.
You can either get it filtered or unfiltered.
But with this one, it kind of gives you a balance.
So it's kind of like you get the flavor, but then it's like kind of like a cocktail.
But it's not as strong.
So that's why it's good to get a flood of it.
And you also brought a bottle of, is this like Japanese beer?
Yes.
So that's actually imported from Japan.
So they make it in Japan.
We do not have it in the United States.
It's very good, very smooth.
I like it because it's just, it's more of a smooth beer, where it's not like an IPA or anything like that.
It ain't heavy.
Yeah, it's not heavy.
Nice.
This drink is actually really strong.
So compared to like the lychee martini, I would say lychee martini is like not as strong.
This one is, it'll sneak up on you.
All right, that looks good.
Okay, so this should be strong?
Yes.
Boozy?
It's very strong.
This is dangerous though.
If this is strong and it doesn't taste strong, I'm not, I don't feel like I'm growing any chest.
This is very refreshing.
Yes.
A right amount of fruitiness.
Yes.
Because this one actually has about two ounces of Tito's.
We have about one ounce of strawberry sake.
And then I do lemon and cranberry juice to balance it off.
Oh, it's balanced.
Okay, yeah.
All right.
Thank you so much.
Y'all gotta go check out Rachel at IMA Japanese Cuisine.
And you know what to do.
You gotta go watch Baby Mama.
All right, we got more of The Nightcap after the break.
We've got every episode of The Nightcap and we can go for hours.
