Today i will explain why your #3dprinter may be printing in the corner and not the middle of the bed! in this quick Cura #tutorial i will go over the setting in you machine settings that can cause this, and as an added bonus, i will show you how to play the layer simulation of your sliced model!

Hey folks, TechNeverse here. Today we are answering more of your Kira questions. Today we have a
question from Niall Miles. How do you put the simulation on in Kira so you can watch how it
will print? So we are going to show you how to do this real quick. Just got to grab a model. Let's
just get any random old thing. Here's this little pawn here. Okay, slice it. Not too worried about
the settings. I'm just going to show you how to simulate or preview your slice. So if you click
preview mode once it's sliced, obviously you get the layer view. I have super thin layers shown
right now, so there's a lot of them. Okay, so if I scroll down to the bottom, hey I got no infill on.
And then I drag this guy back to the beginning. If I hit play, it will draw this layer for me. So
it'll simulate the path and show you where it's going to print, what it's going to put down,
and it will run all the way through the path. Now, I don't believe it will move up to the
next layer on its own. You have to actually select the layer to look at that path, and then click the
play button, and it will show you exactly what it's going to do. So this is a good way to see your
starts, your ends, and see your seam and where it's going to be. It looks like the seam is going to be
right here on this model. So if I take this, bump it up, and turn around the back, you can see yeah
that's where it's placing it, right in that little crack there, which is just fine. That is basically
it. Super simple. I had one more question today, and that was, let's see here, I've had problems
with my 4.9 beta going to the bottom left corner to print on my Ender 3s and CR-10 and my V-King,
and now the 4.9 release is doing the same. I'm going to launch a virtual machine version of
Windows and download a stock version and see if it's causing the problem. So Andrew, I get a lot
of comments and questions from you, so I really want to help you out. So let me just show you real
quick. You're going to want to make sure, it's not in there, it's in my machine. I can get to
it this way. Printers and Ender 3 Pro machine settings. So it's kind of a misnomer here.
There were a couple of versions of Cura that brought in profiles, or brought them in wrong,
or changed some of the values. So they have that fixed now, but if you imported your profile from
one of those, you might want to go to the machine settings and ensure that this is not checked. Now
this button says origin at center, and it's not what you think it is. It's kind of the opposite.
So basically if I check this, it's going to print in the front left corner of my bed, just like
you're describing. It's going to determine that this is the center, and it's going to start
printing right here. So with it unchecked, the middle is actually in the bed. So don't think,
I mean it's kind of counterintuitive, but you want that unchecked in order to print on the
left corner right here. That is the first thing that I would check. So super simple video. As
always guys, if you have any more Cura questions, leave them in the comments. I'm happy to answer
them, and I try to get back to you as quickly as I can. I like making these videos because
they're different and informative, and people seem to be enjoying them so far. So leave a like on
this video, and don't forget to hit that subscribe button. If you ring the bell for notifications,
you'll get notified every time I post one of these Cura questions videos. And absolutely,
absolutely hit me up in the comments. By the way, I do have a playlist I can put right here,
Cura settings in five minutes or less. Definitely check it out. There's lots of
cool stuff in there. I go over each of these settings one by one in short videos,
try to keep it simple. And I'll put a video up right on this side. You can check out another
one of my videos, maybe a playlist, whatever. So we'll see you in the next one, guys.
Tech Nibbers out.
