‘AI race’: Trump takes aim at communities rejecting crucial AI data centres

Former Federal Labor Minister Stephen Conroy explains why data centres are becoming a crucial battleground in the race between the US and China to dominate artificial intelligence.

“This is one of those issues that touches people on their homes in their streets,” Mr Conroy told News24 host Paul Murray.

“What is becoming an AI race between the West, mostly the US, and China.

“To power that race, data centres are essential.”
