All right, y'all.
Get a load of this beauty right here.
This is the new old home, that's what they're calling it,
from Homily Design Build.
We are in Leawood, Kansas
for the Kansas City Artisan Home Show 2026.
And this, I think y'all are absolutely gonna love this one.
This one's got so much charm and character to it,
it is unreal.
All the homes that we've been touring on this trip
have been kind of more modern.
Done a couple modern farmhouses too, right?
But this one, ooh-wee, man.
It sits on 65 acres for one.
How cool is that?
But, I mean, it's just cute as a butt.
Dang.
Old copper accent.
You've got like, I think it's like slate shingle, shingles.
I thought it was gonna be, oh, what is it?
Cedar-shaped shingles.
But anyway, it's slate.
Inside of this home, you are gonna find six bedrooms,
seven and a half bathrooms.
It does have a four-car garage over here
to the right-hand side of the home.
And all of this sits inside of 6,800 square feet.
But I mean, just get a load of this front porch right here.
Right?
This has got some sweet tea sippin' written all over it.
Oh my goodness.
Now, unfortunately, this home is already spoken for,
but if you are loving it
and you wanna build something similar to it,
while your lot and location
are definitely gonna play a huge role in it,
you can expect to pay
anywhere between four and six million dollars.
But with that, let's get inside
and see what all we can find.
All right, here we go.
So this is the view that you're greeted with
just as soon as you walk in.
And like I said, y'all, this whole home, it is beautiful.
But before we dive into it,
I'll go ahead and show you this front entryway right here.
You got the double doors looking out
into like a circular drive.
Tons of room for decorating.
You've got the staircase going up to the second level,
as well as down into the basement.
And then on either side,
you can access a couple different things.
You've got the owner's office to our right.
And we're gonna go ahead and start over here
on the left-hand side.
So you've got a coat closet.
And then into the first of the secondary bedrooms.
Now, I'm definitely interested to hear what y'all think.
I know there's so many different personalities
across the channel, right?
People love kind of these more classical homes
where others prefer the more modern stuff.
But let me know.
I'm glad that we're able to offer
a bunch of different types on this trip.
It really makes me happy, I think.
So Jen sets up, of course, I've mentioned this,
but if you're new,
Jen sets up all the tours
and picks out a lot of the homes.
I'll have a little say-so in them.
She might ask me here and there
what I think about a particular home.
But for the most part, I don't even see the home
until I pull up to it the day of the tour.
That's just what gets, like, I like that.
You know what I mean?
Let me tell you, you got a little closet in here, too.
So I was pleasantly surprised.
I was also pleasantly surprised to hear
that they had told me, like, this sat on 65 acres,
but I was thinking it was the entire neighborhood,
and it's just, like, this lot.
I was like, holy cow.
Anyway, coming into the living room,
you've got a beautiful gas fireplace, coffered ceilings,
some built-ins on either side of the fireplace,
and then you have three sets of doors
going out into the pool patio area.
Definitely an estate or a stately home, right?
But we're gonna get outside in a little bit.
We'll work our way over there.
We're gonna go ahead and dive into this kitchen real quick.
So it doesn't look like there's any storage
on the front side of the island.
I do like the legs, the little spindles
over here on the front side.
I thought that looks nice.
You got a couple of pennant lights hanging down
over the top of the island.
And then on the front side,
just like you've got a trash can drawer,
you've got the apron sink, scoping everything out.
Dishwasher.
So you got cove, which means you're gonna have,
like, the Wolf appliance package.
Little pan drawer.
And along the back wall, of course,
Wolf range, pot filler.
Range hood.
Another pan drawer.
I mean, that's handy for sure, having a couple of them.
Tell you what, right now, we keep,
no spice rack, though?
For shame.
We keep all of our pans that we use a lot, you know,
in, like, our top oven,
so we got, like, a double oven situation happening.
And that's where we keep a lot of our most used ones.
But having some pan drawers, actually,
to keep them organized, that would be handy.
Sorry, I was just looking for an extra spice rack somewhere,
but anyway.
And then you've got, like, this built-in china cabinet.
And then along this wall,
this is gonna be your refrigerator and freezer,
separated by this little buffet space.
So this is the freezer side.
But all in all, all the cabinets are going
up to the ceiling.
And wait until you get into the scullery.
Oh my gosh.
It's just gorgeous.
Like, the whole home.
I love it.
It definitely makes me happy.
It's bright and airy, tons of windows.
Nice little dining room set up.
I came in like a wrecking ball, for sure, though.
It's, what, Thursday that I'm filming this?
And they're getting ready.
Parade again kicks back up tomorrow.
And so they're doing all the cleaning,
doing last-minute little things to get the house
in order before people start coming back through it.
But anyway, check out this thing.
It's gorgeous.
Windows, phenomenal.
Love that.
I even like the little accent at the bottom of the window,
like, of the door, on the window right there.
It looks nice.
Everything looks like a garden room
or a garden patio outside.
Like, there's just tons of it.
And just wait until we even get to, like,
kind of the breezeway area of the garage.
It's amazing.
It just looks cool.
It's very unique.
I think that's what's getting me right now.
But anyway, turning you back this way,
you've got another secondary refrigerator.
They even went big and kept the Sub-Zero stuff in here, too.
We've been, you know, a lot of the times
they'll put, like, a cheaper version of a refrigerator
in this gallery, but they didn't in here.
And then you've got a microwave and another oven.
Ooh, nice.
All the pull-outs for your storage.
And then this is kind of your mudroom space.
Let me get back over here.
Got a little pet food station,
a little spot for their bed.
And you've got all these little lockers, too,
which have, like, outlets
so you can charge all your stuff.
And then from there,
you've got a secondary set of stairs, right?
But this is what I was kind of talking about
with, like, this just,
everything feels like it's in a garden.
You know what I mean?
So you've got access.
This goes out front.
And that's kind of what we saw,
this little garden entrance
when we were walking up to the front of the home.
And then this walks clear into the backyard,
which we'll go to in just a second.
And I did want to pop you out here
into the garage real quick.
And you've got four different stalls.
We'll just kind of peruse around.
They're set up for the parade right now,
so just kind of keep that in mind.
But, oh, we've got the dinner rack.
And that's about what I'm seeing.
And then we'll go ahead and hop outside real quick.
Now, there are a few things out here
that we're not gonna be able to go and check out,
like the actual pool house,
because I guess they're still finishing stuff up.
So we're not gonna be able to go in there.
They've got, like, scrap stuff and everything in it.
And we're also not gonna be able to go into the barn,
which is unfortunate, but it's all right.
Still thankful for the opportunity
to come out here and check it out.
You've got the pool.
I like the little lattice situation
they did with the turf.
It's fake, so you don't have to worry
about mowing it or weed eating it, right?
Oh, you've got the jacuzzi.
Give you the rear elevation real quick.
I mean, we will go check out, like,
the little pool bungalow in just a minute,
but we'll hop in here real quick.
Scope this out.
Now, this is right off of the master suite.
So it's like a private little patio space,
which is kind of cool.
Get some screens in here, right?
Oh, it looks like you can access it
from the living room as well.
But it also comes off of the master bedroom.
And then it's almost like a little pet run over here.
You can shut this gate,
let your dogs run around in the morning time
without having to worry about them chasing deer
across the world.
We've got a little blue heeler,
and, oh my goodness, if she goes outside
and there's a deer in the backyard somewhere,
of course, that rarely happens
because our Marimba sheepdog
makes sure nothing comes on the property.
But every now and again,
there'll be a sneaky little deer
and Remy will kind of get ahold of it
and she'll chase it clear up to the neighbor's place.
But anyway, we've got another little outdoor
kind of hangout spot.
It's got some heaters up here on both sides.
So you've got two over there.
And then back behind us, there's two more.
It's nice and breezy under here
because, oh my goodness,
Missouri cranked up to heat to Satan.
This is hot.
Just kind of spelunking around real quick
and then we'll get back inside.
But you do have access, I guess,
to the pool house right here.
Oh, that's the pool bathroom.
They're not even done plumbing it in yet.
All right, so we don't have to go in there yet,
but this is all the pool equipment
for all you equipment nerds out there.
And then we'll come over here
and I'll just kind of show you the barn.
I'm sure this thing could be like a workshop or whatever.
It even has access from the driveway.
So that's cool.
You can park your boat or your RV or something in there.
So that's neat.
All right, let's get back inside to this air conditioning.
And then what we're gonna do
is we're actually gonna go upstairs.
We'll take this set of stairs.
And then when we drop back down,
we'll check out the master bedroom,
which is on the other side of the house.
And then we'll go into the basement.
I feel like that makes the most sense of flow in my mind.
But let's see.
I think this is where all the other secondary bedrooms are.
But it's definitely not one of those white wall homes.
You know what I mean?
They went and put a personality into this one.
It's en suite.
This one's nice and pink.
Made it into its en suite.
And this one's fun because check out the doors
going into the closet.
How cool is that?
And then they're like magnets.
So when you open it up, it just kind of sticks.
I don't know where the light switch is for it, but anyway.
And then on the backside, of course,
it has its own shower, little linen closet.
Every bedroom is different.
That's awesome.
Into its closet.
A little day bench.
I just wanted to see, look at all that.
Nice and deep storage.
And then into its en suite.
We've got a second floor laundry room.
There's gonna be one on the main level too.
It's nice just to have a bunch of them.
You know what I mean?
And then you got a little lofty space.
It's kind of like an upstairs den area.
And then into this bedroom.
All right, then from here,
we'll go ahead and work our way back downstairs.
Like really not a whole lot up here to this top level.
Definitely kind of focused on just bedrooms.
I do like the fact that they can drop down
into the kitchen area and grab some snacks, right?
Or, you know, that set of stairs.
It's almost like a set of service stairs, but not.
This doesn't really lead down to anything
other than the pantry and the garage.
But this is the master bedroom.
And again, you've got those double doors
kind of going out onto that private patio we saw earlier.
And then into the en suite.
And this thing just goes and goes.
So you've got a double vanity right here.
Tub and then the makeup vanity.
And then as you round the corner,
you've got the shower, double shower head.
And then the water closet.
And then opposite that is the closet.
And then this is the lower level laundry room.
And blue, blue, blue.
Oh my goodness.
But look at, oh, look at the ceiling.
That's cool.
A little spot to put the baskets.
These are drying racks.
I think they just fold down.
I don't want to do it
because you've got the valance right there.
And then it kind of transitions.
I don't even know what you would utilize this space for.
This kind of in between area.
You can let me know that.
It's got some slide outs though.
Maybe just like extra linens.
And then I don't even know over here.
But then from there, you move into the office space.
And it's even got like a little garden door.
Just got like a little cabinet for all the knickknacks.
And then we've made it back to the foyer.
And we will work our way downstairs.
Kind of a, I mean, we've made it work out pretty good.
You know what I mean?
Not a whole lot of bouncing back and forth.
Now down here, you know, most of the time
where we go to check out the utility closets and everything,
we're not going to go in them this time
because the homeowners are in the process of moving in.
Kind of waiting until the end of the parade to finish it up.
And that's kind of where they're storing all their stuff.
So just keep that in mind.
When you see me not open something in this tour,
that's why we're not opening it.
But just like a little movie,
entertainment room, movie theater room, right?
And then you've got your bar lounge area
across the way from that.
Looks like that's a picture frame TV.
Got your wash basin.
I guess it'd be a sink down here, wouldn't it?
And then on this side,
this is just kind of all common space, little gaming space.
This door right here is one of those storage rooms
that I was talking about.
But it does have a lot of storage.
This door right here is also one of them.
But just take a gander of all this space
and I'll give you a quick pan.
I'll get in this corner real quick
and you can envision what all you would do down here.
And let me know down in the comments.
And then through this door right in front of us
is actually the gym room,
but they're working on the sauna right now.
So again, sorry, but we're gonna avoid it.
I'll give you a little peek though, right?
Just kind of works,
kind of sits up underneath of the master bedroom.
And then you also have a bathroom down here as well.
All right.
